Android 22 was found in the sub-lab of scientist Dr. Gero, a cancelled android project, found by Trunks and Krillin and reprogrammed to help the Z-Fighters fight the incoming threat, along the way he meets two women, both also androids, Android 17 aka Lapiz and Android 18 aka Lazuli both also created by Gero

Along with her brother Future Android 17, she serves as one of the main antagonists of Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks.
