This numbered copy of a rare set of bound prints by Ray Frederick Coyle was issued to honor an artist who died too young, by his publisher, John Henry Nash, in 1926. Coyle's fantastic views of slender, athletic nude male figures, riding atop equine waves and surrounded by aerodynamic birds and imaginary creatures, are quite extraordinary. His work was compared by Aubrey Beardsley, and his style is a combination of Art Nouveau and emerging Art Deco, all boldly expressed in white and black. This set of prints is highlighted in silver and gold inks, and is number 54 of only 210 printed.
