Keith Mallett was born in Pennsylvania, and received his formal art training at the Art Students League, and Hunter College in New York City. He has worked as a freelance artist and for fifteen years was the in-house artist for Frontline Art Publishers. Keith’s work is currently published by Canadian Art Prints, one of the largest fine art publishers in the world.
A museum quality print of Spring By Mucha from our gallery Raven Orb Gallery. I print high quality prints using 100 cotton rag paper using giclee archival ink which are lightfast and waterproof for over 75 years. This decorative panel printed on silk from 1900, titled “Spring”, is by the Czech artist and founder of the Art Nouveau movement, Alphonse Mucha. It is one of four panels in his Seasons series from 1900. In this piece, the season of Spring is personified as a beautiful young woman. She stares right at the viewer in a sultry pose in a fantasy type dress carrying a bouquet of spring flowers. The green dress represents the new life that comes with the season. As with Mucha’s other pieces, the border is part of the art itself and contains classic Art Nouveau motifs. Of course, these seem classic today, but in Mucha’s time they were new and fresh.
Art Deco exuberance After the war, between the 20's and 30's, there was an exuberance of style and pursuit of luxury, fueled by woman entering the workforce and lines of credit being available for the first time with the marketing masterstroke in the form of the lay-by. For integration of style elements, there was probably never a more complete symbiosis then that which occurred between architecture, furniture, graphics, fashion and decorative objects in Art Deco. The expanding movie industry at this time also promoted Art Deco and the aspiration for elegance and the high life. With the

This is the play bill and supper menu from the show called The Midnight Follies at the London Metropole hotel in 1927. The review included the famous American dancers Rosita and Ramone in their first London appearance. Supper was very expensive, and offered only the best champagne and foods. The menu cover shows an elegantly dressed lady being kissed by the moon as she leaves the hotel.
