Many years ago, the pastor of the church that I was attending at the time came to me and asked if I would lead the ladies' Bible study. Honestly, I don’t know what he was thinking. I had attended Bible studies before, but I had never led one. I certainly felt unequipped for the job, but as someone who doesn’t generally back down from a challenge, I agreed to try.Fortunately, I had been taught by some pretty good Bible study teachers in the past who were good examples for me to follow. I also had
When it comes to leading a Bible study, I’ve had some beautiful experiences and some not-so-brilliant ones. The last disaster Bible study that I hosted involved my son walking around as I was in the middle of the lesson. Everyone laughed and watched him. I felt like white noise playing in the bac

Every Tuesday morning, I attend a women’s Bible study at my church where we worship, listen to a mini message on the chapter(s) we read the previous week, and enjoy sweet fellowship with one another. Almost every week, within our Bible study, we're asked to define specific terms we come across in the Bible. Now,
It is essential to have an opening prayer for Bible study. Whether you’re studying the scriptures alone, with a friend, or with a group you need to pray before you start. This glorifies God and shows your reliance on him.
Here are the 30 most meaningful Bible scriptures on fellowship. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. Hebrews 10:25 Not neglecting to meet together, as
When first starting out studying the Bible, it can feel so overwhelming. You may have no idea where to start studying, what to read, or how to study the Bible. There isn’t a perfect/exact way to study the Bible, but one method makes it super simple - S.O.A.P.
Many of you have probably heard of, or have maybe even used, the S.O.A.P Method, which is a wonderful method of studying the WORD of God, but is not unique to Balanced Living Bible Study...so we designed our own. If you join our study, we read just ONE chapter a day, Monday - Friday. We provide you with the Weekly Reading Plan as well #VerseOfTheDay selections and #DailyReflectionQuestions to consider. The best way to see these, besides here, is our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/A-Faith-Filled-Life-1552684925046477/ The beauty of this method of study is that you can join us at any time, all are welcome!! Just jump right in where we are, and use your "off" days (over the weekend) to catch up, or revisit the chapters you may have "missed" when you have time. It's really easy and it's FREE! We believe studying the Bible should be affordable and available to ALL, so we offer our WORD Guides for FREE and offer our #VerseOfTheDay and #DailyReflectionQuestions on our Facebook Page. Our Complete Study Guides, which contain the WORD Guide, the Verses of the Day & the Daily Reflection Question, for just $1.99!! Get your resources at: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Balanced-Living-Bible-Study Here's how to use the W.O.R.D. Method: While we read God’s word, we soak in the scripture using the W.O.R.D. Method: W - Word of God (Write down your favorite verse(s) from todays scripture.) or use the verse we have selected for you! O - Observations (What did you observe while reading God’s word) write down what sticks out to you, while you read the selected chapter. Some ladies outline the reading, others summarize, there is no wrong way to do this. R - Reflect (Apply what God said to you today to your daily life.) What did this chapter reveal to you - how can you implement the concepts or commands in your life today? You can also use this space to answer our Daily Reflection Questions too! D - Devotion (What do you feel compelled to tell God in prayer.) This is one of my favorite parts of studying the Bible - praying after reading God's word. Sometimes my prayers are short and simple, and other times the words flow freely, and I fill the entire page! Lastly, we urge you to consider joining one of our virtual Facebook Study Groups.
