Hello friends! Here's your all-important Crafty Question of the Day: Can you make a card with just two stamps? I could spoil all the fun and just say, "Well yes, DUH, because here it is..." but I won't. Instead, let's take a look at some cards that feature just TWO STAMPS, and see how you can make the ideas your own for simple card making! This blog post contains affiliate links. If you shop through my links, I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart! Since you already know the answer, YES you can actually make a card with just two stamps, let's check this out. This sweet trio of candles in the Happy Birthday clear stamp set from Impression Obsession is perfect for this simple idea. It's just one smallish stamp with three candles but by repeating the image it packs a LOT of punch. So let me ask you, what stamps do you have in your stash that might pack a BIG PUNCH by repeating them on a card base? You might stamp them straight across the card like this, or you might fill the entire panel with that image. Don't you always need some cute birthday cards ready to go? Consider whipping up a whole pile of cards using these simple ideas. This next card features the same basic layout - a row of stamped images, and a sentiment on a die cut circle. In this case, I decided to use ink to color my row of gifts. This idea works perfectly if you have a coordinating die for your stamped image. Here's how: First, stamp your row of images. (And if you plan to make multiple cards - go ahead and prep to make stack of cards all at once!) Then, die cut the coordinating shape from the middle of a cardstock scrap. This will create a pattern, or mask to ink within. (pink cardstock in the photo below) Line up your mask over the stamped image, and sponge color over the top. For this card, I made two masks - one for the green/teal inks and one for the yellow/orange/pink, so that the ink buildup on the mask wouldn't get muddy and bleed together as I worked. Remember, this card only takes TWO STAMPS. (and two dies, if we're being specific!) To finish off this card, I used cardstock dots in coordinating colors. Here's a tip: For flat cards that are easy to mail, this is one of my favorite tricks - use two sizes of hole punches to make a bunch of dots, and glue them on like you would use rhinestones, pearls, or enamel dots. Check out this cozy, fall card idea. (You can find the full blog post HERE.) I utilized some patterned paper strips to create the background of this card, but then there's just TWO stamps to finish it off. The sunflower image isn't long enough to cover the whole card, but I stamped it two times next to each other, and then covered up the seam with the die-cut rectangle. Then, a simple sentiment, also from the Autumn Crows Clear Stamp Set! Looking for more birthday card ideas? Make 4 birthday cards all at once! Happy Birthday Card Ideas! Today's design is really quite intricate but SUPER-EASY to make! The file and the Cricut will do all the hard work for you - all you need to do is fold a score line and add a handful of gem embellishments! This is inspired by an original I designed for a friend who wanted something in the style of cut-out a card she'd seen but Cricutable (is that a word?!). I found that one was a bit hit and miss in terms of cuttability, so I simplified it a bit. However, the following cutting tips will help: Use very good quality paper - the paper I used is very heavy - so I experimented and ended up with an unusual setting (Intricate Cardstock just doesn't cut it - literally!). I used the Cereal Box setting with More Pressure - this in turn meant I needed to use the Deep Point blade. Make sure your mat is very sticky - I find it doesn't really matter which mat I use, as long as it's been recently cleaned. This is a must for more intricate paper designs. If you don't have a Cricut stylus to mark the centre of the card, then just remove the score line from the pattern and score it down the centre by hand. (I know people recommend a run-out ballpoint pen - but really do make sure it's empty!) You will need: Good quality A4 paper (I used 270gsm PaperMill Direct White Felt Embossed Card) Five small embellishments (I used floral gem-style embellishments from Hobbycraft). Our SVG file! Preparing the file: Open a New Project and click on 'Import Images'. Choose the file you've downloaded - in this case it's 'intricatehappybirthdaycard.ai'. Select all of the pieces and then click on on 'Ungroup'. You now need to tell the machine to Score (rather than Cut!) the central line, so you need to click on the item in the right hand margin and click the Scissors Item next to it. When the Layers Attribute appears, choose 'Score' (the stylus icon). It will now appear as a dotted line, as shown below. Click and drag to select everything in the piece and click on Attach (the paper clip icon at the bottom of the list on the right hand side. 8. You're now ready to print! As it prints, you will see the following on the mat. As this is an intricate cut, watch the card carefully - and hold it into place if necessary (though mind your fingers!). It gets jerked around quite a lot! 9. Take the design off the mat but move very slowly and carefully - it's almost like lace in parts! 10. Fold over the score line in the centre. 11. Apply the gems to the centre of the flowers that are 'solid' (i.e. that have no holes in them!) and also to the very end of the first 'p' in Happy, to form the dot over the 'i'! 12. Your card is now ready! I rather like it like this but if you want to you can put a central card inside or paper behind it. Here it is with sparkly gold! I also did a version in blue glitter card: Want to make it yourself? Download our Birthday Card Cut File! It's up to you which way to make it but all of the raw materials taken to make these - the glitter card, the floral embellishments and the white felt embossed card - are going into our giveaway!

Hello, crafty friends! I'm so excited to present my new Taylored Expressions tutorial on the new and super innovative Theater Fold Frame Die! You've probably seen a lot of design team samples and also Taylor's video on this new interactive concept but there are so many ways to use this die and I provide lots of tips and ideas for using this die. Some of the products designed to work with the Theater Fold Frame Die include the Oh My Word - Happy Birthday stamp set and Bitty Borders stamp set and coordinating dies. There are two other stamp sets with hello and thank you themes and they all coordinate with the images from Bitty Borders. The Oh My Word - Happy Birthday stamp set is sized to fit perfectly in the window of the Theater Fold Frame Die and you can see that it can also accommodate a secondary sentiment from the same stamp set, or even a smaller one from Bitty Borders, even though you're most likely to stamp those on the inside of the card. I ended up heat embossing my main sentiment with black twinkle embossing powder to add impact and the all-important wow factor. I love how perfectly it fits together and splits apart in that window! On the inside, I used the Rectangle Masking Stencils and the Cloud Stencils to create the background and wings of the theater. It's another little detail that sets this card apart from regular cards. Of course, you can leave this plain or get as creative as you like with both stencilling and patterned paper! I used two of the adorable images from Bitty Borders and coloured them with Copic markers. You can watch me colour them in the video and I've listed all the colours in the supply links below. After die cutting the coloured Bitty Borders images, I used their coordinating dies to create a shadow from black glitter cardstock. This helps them stand out from the cloud background, as well as each other. For a limited time, you can purchase the Theater Fold Starter Bundle, which is a steal at $46 since the Theater Fold Frame Die itself is $38. The start bundle provides you with all you need to make at least two Theater Fold cards! I promise you'll be addicted once you get started. ;) Thanks so much for watching! Supplies:
