Leonid Pasternak – Boris Pasternak Beside the Baltic at Merekule. 1910
Russian literature is a rich and ongoing literary tradition any serious reader needs to explore. Here are the essential Russian books you must read.
Einer der wichtigsten literarischen Briefwechsel des 20. Jahrhunderts.
This is an original hand-pulled linocut - portrait of Boris Pasternak (1890-1960), Russian poet, whose novel Doctor Zhivago brought him the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1958. Designed, cut, and printed by me (Natalia Moroz). Signed in pencil, numbered (from a limited edition of 30) and dated 2004. The linoleum block is cut by hand, then inked and printed individually, so every print is slightly different. Printed on beautiful printmaking paper (Rising Stonehenge, acid-free) with oil-based printing ink - all materials are permanent and archival. Generous wide margins provided around the image. Suitable for standard matting and framing. Image area is about 5"x7" (13x18cm) Paper size is 11" x15" (28x38cm) Mint condition (never been matted or framed) My other portraits of great writers include Rainer Maria Rilke, Robert Frost, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Wystan Hugh Auden, Konstantin Kavafis, Anna Akhmatova, Osip Mandelshtam, Aleksander Blok, Marina Tsvetaeva, Arseniy Tarkovsky, Joseph Brodsky, and Bulat Okudzhava.
