Come over to my blog and check out how I made this fun Christmas pop up box card using several dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.

I have a somewhat whimsical Card In A Box for you today. I started this project last year, but put it aside as it needed something else. With the release of the Holiday Catalogue by Stampin' Up!, I found just what I was looking for in the "Holiday Home" stamp set and matching framelits. You might recognize the lovely snowflakes from last year's Holiday Catalogue, and altho' the proportions are not correct, I do like the end product. This is how the card looks when it arrives in it's envelope. Flat, but creating a cute Christmas scene. Open it up and ...... you get a nice display to go on the mantel. It is a little hard to see all the details so I have a close up photo for you to see all the little extra glittery bits. Hope you like it and get some inspiration to create your own Christmas scenes. The houses have been coloured with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities - the new alcohol markers that give a beautiful smooth application of colour whilst allowing for gradation of colour and shading. If you haven't tried them yet you should - they are brilliant. Until Next Time...
Hello! I'd like to quickly share a fun pop-up Christmas box card that I made for another crafty friend. I have been eyeing the BB Santa's Elves Stamp Set from My Favorite Things for awhile now and was finally able to snag it over MFT Stamps Black Friday sale. I just love these cute little elves! To start, I first stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto smooth white cardstock (I like using the Neenah Classic Crest Smooth Solar White 110lb for myimages in a box card so that they don't tend to bend or flop over when standing upright). I then colored everything using Copic Sketch Markers. Colors Used: Skin: E50, E51, E11, E23 Hair: E27, E29 Reds: R14, R29, R46, R59 Green Clothes and Green Bulbs: G20, YG13, YG17, YG97 Tree and Green Stocking: G20, YG13, YG17, G16 and G29 for shading Blue Gifts: B21, B23, B26 Yellow Bulbs on Hats: Y06, Y15, E33 Whites: 0, C00, C0, C2, C4 Once complete, I then used the coordinating dies to cut out my images. I then created the box/base of my card using a 12"x12" piece of white cardstock, a paper trimmer and a scoring board. I usually follow THIS TUTORIAL by Splitcoaststampers to get me started, but make a few of my own changes to customize the size that I want. I added some patterned paper panels along the sides of the box. On the back panel (it's difficult to see in the photos), I used the MFT Snowfall Stencil and White Crackle Embossing Paste to create the look of falling snow. I diecut some snow white grass using the MFT Grassy Fields Die-namics and then added some street lights using the Streetlights Die-namics from which to hang some Christmas ornaments. To finish the card, I added heat embossed the sentiment "Happiest of Holidays" onto red cardstock and attached it to the side panel of the box after using the MFT Die-namics Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips to cut it out. I will be playing along and entering this card into the following challenges: Simon Says Monday Challenge: Icy Inspiration Addicted To Stamps and More Challenge #271: Anything Goes Thank you all for dropping by! Hello all! Today I am sharing a card with you that I absolutely fell in love with as soon as I saw the cutting file for it. It is a nativity box card. The SVG file to create this card is from SVG Attic's JGW Believe set. I really enjoyed choosing all of the different papers to create this card! I used cardstock from Oriental Trading and patterned papers from The Paper Studio and DCWV. The bow is Totally Chocolate and Totally Kraft Trendy Twines and the wood grain stamp I used on all of the dark brown paper is from Unity stamps. I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day! Marisa sent me a picture of a stamped book card from Nancy stamps at: http://nancykstamps.blogspot.com/2008_10_12_archive.html and asked if I had a template for it and I did not but it looked pretty straight forward so I decide to come up with a template for it and had it for my swap at our last stamp and chat. The cover shows Home for Christmas stamped in black ink pad on 4x4 white CS and colored with SU watercolor crayons in old olive, artichoke for the rocks, garden green, apricot for the lamp, cocoa and chocolate chip then red marker for all the red spots. A little 2 way glue pen and then dazzling diamond glitter. A 1 1/4x 4 inch strip of DD paper from I wish scrapping kit- "LOVE this PAPER!" and wide red grosgrain ribbon over quarter sheet of certainly celery CS. This is what it looks like from the side. It looks like a book and will hold at least 4- 8 A2 cards and envelopes. It would make a lovely gift for someone. Use any color you like for base- here is real red cardstock 8 1/2 by 11. turn it longways across and using scor-pal place left margin at 1/4 inch and score at 5 and 6 1/2. so each "page" is 4 3/4in and middle is 1 1/2 in in width. Turn short way across and score at 6 and 7 1/2 inch. Trim away the the 2 1/2 in below left side page and the center. The section below the right side will form the bottom of the box and part of the front to which you will tape the front panel. Place sticky tape along the front of the piece- on the underside of where the finger is in the picture. Take another 8 1/2 x 3inch piece of red CS. Using Scor-pal, place left margin at 1/8" from the edge and score at 1/2" and 2". Flip it over and do the same on the other side. Turn it long ways and score 1/2 inch from the edge. Cut away the bottom as shown along the 1/2 inch scored margin and place tape as shown on next picture. place the front flap piece onto the big piece as shown. Fold over the sides and tape down to make the box insert. finished box- nice and neat. Finished box with some coordinating cards and envelopes. Thanks for looking! Lynda

I hope this post isn't too long! My sister's and I are doing a Craft Fair in two weeks! We have all been working on many different projects - so I thought I would share my newest project! I found this technique on Pinterest (of course) -and fell in love with it! Monica Gale does a fabulous video with great instructions! She does do the measurements in Centimeters. I will give you the measurements in inches below. At least it is the measurements I used. Check out her video first to get an idea of how to make this adorable card/box! http://monicas-passions.blogspot.com/2013/10/card-in-box-video-tutorial.html Side View I used a piece of 12 x 12 card stock and cut it at 5 7/8. You will score on the 12 inch side at 2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4 and 11 inches. Then turn your card stock so the short side is at the top of your score board and score at 2 3/4. You can follow Monica's instructions from here. I didn't add the measurements for the decorative paper since I think everyone may have a different idea of how much of a rim they like to have showing around your decorative paper. For the inserts measurements - I used 3.75 inches x 1 inch and then scored each end at 1/2 inch. I used the owl punch to make the little penguins. Their little flippers are the ears of the owls. I love that Stampin Up punch! Back before sentiment is added Here is another peaceful scene that I made using a bunch of different tree dies and a Memory Box die of deer. I don't think you can see all the glitter I used on the trees. This box is one of my favorite. I love how these boxes fold and can be mailed quite easily! I will be making some envelopes with my Envelop Punch Board. Close up I think if we have any cat lover's at the fair- they will like this card. You can't see it but there is also a cat sitting on the window sill. I used the Madison Window from Memory Box. I did cut it down a little so it didn't stick up quite as high. The tree is from a Martha Stewart punch. Close up Here is a shot of all three! I am going to make a few more and then start on something else. We only have 2 weeks! Yikes! Next year we will plan to start earlier!!
