These notecards sets were handmade from a vintage quilt top. Each heart was hand cut with a scalloped edge, then machined stitched onto a white notecard. Each set of hearts were cut from the same quilt, which makes the complete set coordinate. The note cards are placed into a pocket repurposed from a children’s book that was in disrepair. Hand cut “washi” tape was made from colorful cottons with double-sided tape. This allows you to gently pull the edge and add the tape to the back of an envelope. These can be cut to size or even angled on the ends to add to your “happy mail!” Each notecard is approximately 4”x5.5” and the cut hearts at 3.5”. Each set of notecards comes with 6 cards, 6 envelopes, strips of handmade washi tape, and a hand stitched pocket” from a children’s book to keep the set tidy. **Reminder that there may be some imperfections in the hearts that were added to the stationary due to the nature of the vintage material. *** If you have a specific “book pocket” that you want, just message me in the order and if it available I will be sure to get that to you.

I know many of you will be very envious when I tell you where I've been today! You will see from the Title it was a Postcard Workshop, but we had a very special tutor. It was Gwenfai Rees Griffiths, the famous North Wales Quilter who was the Winner of the Large Traditional Patchwork quilt at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham this year and if I understood correctly she heard today that she's also a winner at Houston. You will find her winning quilt by clicking on the Title of this post or paste this into your browser. http://www.twistedthread.com/uploads/FOQ%202008%20Presentation.pdf on page 29. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable day. These are some of the poscards we made. I finished this postcard in class using Gwenfai's design and below is the one I designed myself, which I finished after coming home. This is proof of how much I enjoyed the class, I still have things from the odd class unfinished, but I wanted to complete this one tonight.
Welcome to Showcase Sunday, where we share the gorgeous projects you all have been making using Aurifil threads. ❤ Want to be featured? Simply share your photos on Instagram or Facebook using the t…

I’m so excited to have new fabric postcards to mail out! I don’t know what I’d do without Pinterest inspiration these days. I hope this bright cheery flower brings a smile to my recipient’s face, and joyful feelings whenever she looks at it. This artsy collage has arrived at it’s destination. It made it’s own story as I found scrap pieces to create it. It said to me, which I in turn said to Tera... And this test design block turned postcard was sent to an acquaintance quilter who could not believe my fabric postcards could go through the mail. And more to come. Happy Mail Day!
