Once achieved I coat the copper with 3 layers of protection. Layer 1: Locks in the color. Layer 2: Protects the copper from contaminants in the air ~ ESPECIALLY SALTY AIR! Layer 3: Adds the sheen. Either gloss or matte. And adds another layer of protection from scratches and UV Protection.
