I envy those that can take a really great macro shot. I like this one, but to me, it's only good. I supposed I could say that I don't have a macro lense and that using my 24-70mm with a minimum focus distance of 0.7 feet doesn't really allow me to shoot macro, but the fact is that even if I had a good macro lens I'd still be lucky to get a "good" shot. I'll keep studying those that take great macros here on Flickr and perhaps someday I'll have something worthy of note. ;-) If you have any thoughts, comments, or critiques, I'd love to read them. My last B&W photo that I posted netted me some fantastic feedback and I truly appreciate that. Oh, I guess I should say that this is a shot I took of the snowflake-like frost that had grown on the snowbank along Highway 21 on the drive back from the Sawtooths last weekend. I tried to find a spot that was on the sloping bank giving it nice side lighting with some highlights and shadows. I spent about 15 minutes shooting a multitude of handheld shots (about 60 all told) and this was my favorite. Thank goodness for digital, as I NEVER would have experimented like this back in the film days.

It's a common test, but the question remains the same; Can you do it?
I've been admiring the work of Swedish photographer Anna Aden recently, her minimal creations are really vivid, while still staying beautifully refined and refreshing to view. I've got to say I love the fact she leaves the story to be pieced together by the viewer, which makes her imagery pretty individual and personal. Her frames
