Learn about the meaning and history of the yarn and stick gods eye classic camp craft!
This is a four point handmade God’s Eye (Ojo de Dios) wall sculpture. God’s Eye is an ancient, ritualistic object made of woven thread on a wooden cross. The four points symbolize the four elements, air, earth, fire, and water as well as the cardinal directions of north, south, east, and west. This is an object of protection for whoever holds it. The center of the God’s Eye represents an inner knowing, an ability to see with your third eye. Displaying a God’s Eye invokes protection, good health, deeper spirituality, and longevity. This is a great addition to your home or as a housewarming gift or for any occasion where well wishes are warranted. Made of wood, wool, acrylic, and cotton. Due to the nature of making this item, refunds will not be issued, but it is my pleasure to discuss any issues if they arise.
The yarn God's Eye is a longtime favorite kids camp crafts. It is called God's eye for the Eye of God. In Spanish, Ojo de Dios. It is a weaving usually made with wood and many different colors of yarn.

Far more than just popsicle sticks and yarn, Jay Mohler‘s Ojos de Dios or “God’s Eye” mandalas update the craft often seen at sleepaway camps and elementary classrooms. Upwards of 15 colors of yarn are included in his elaborate mandalas, producing pieces that span up to 48 inches in diameter. Mohler has been crafting Ojos de Dios since 1966, inspired by both Huichol natives of Mexico, and monks from Tibet. More
BESOS Y SONRISAS

The Ojo de Dios or Eye of God is a spiritual object believed to hold all-seeing powers , providing protection and understanding unknown things. It is representative of divine watchfulness. It is commonly found among the Huichol Indians of northwestern Mexico. They believed that crafting an object is a way to get in touch with the spiritual world. For protection from the uncertainties of the future, they make decorative, ceremonial shields with coloured yarn and sticks. These shields are called God’s eyes because through them the Gods will keep a watchful eye over the person. In making an Ojo, we are expressing a prayer that the eye of God will watch over us (or the person we are making it for) and grant us (them) health, fortune, and a long life. So, it becomes a physical representation of the prayer. diameter: 33 centimeters
