Especially keep an eye out for my stories - this is where I announce premium offerings, special editions and when my newest art becomes available here on Etsy. *** Inspired by the title of one of my favorite paintings, "Night with her Train of Stars and her Great Gift of Sleep." by Edward Hughes, this picture takes its title from W E Henley's poem 'I M Margaritae Sorori': "The smoke ascends In a rosy-and-golden haze. The spires Shine, and are changed. In the valley Shadows rise. The lark sings on. The sun, Closing his benediction, Sinks, and the darkening air Thrills with a sense of the triumphing night-- Night with her train of stars And her great gift of sleep." In this work, I've portrayed Nyx, Goddess of the Night, carefully adjusting her train of stars, a winsome smile on her luminous face, reflecting the silver glow of her crown, the moon. At her feet, the tiny stars of her creation illuminating the firmament of heaven. Hidden images are incorporated for the viewer to discover on her own. The original print was created at an astrologically favorable time with magickally appropriate aspects and correspondences. The art works as a talisman to incorporate her benevolent energies to enhance and manifest her charms and secrets within you. It is, in and of itself, a unique and one of a kind work of art which will delight and inspire you for years to come. It was the first Friday night of college and I was alone. My roommate, who'd just gotten into her sorority of choice, was partying with her new sisters, and the entire dorm hallway was empty. Everyone was out making the most of freshman year, which…

This is a 7"x5" lino cut print of a female face surrounded by waves and curls of hair, a moon and stars. Each is printed by hand (hand pulled - no press) - with high quality ink onto your choice of an ivory, or kraft coloured piece of card-stock. Due to the handmade nature of these prints, each is unique with it's own variations. You can request a photo of your specific print once you have placed your order. If you are not happy with the print selected for you for any reason, I will gladly switch it with another.

Death Valley sand dunes under a perfectly clear night sky. A re-visit to a shot I had previously processed, but makes me want to vomit when I look at it. Another, 'seriously, what was I thinking?' shot of old. Here's to growing older and wiser! As for the story behind this image... well, I drove MILES(about 28 I believe) down a dirt road in my fwd car, with a friend behind me who had 4wd. He was my safety net, incase the road proved to be too gnarly. It wasn't. Without a cloud in the sky set out into the sand searching for DAT COMP. Found it, and waited. With the sun slowly getting closer to setting, the sky was still clear and I really thought nothing was going to happen... BUT THEN!!!! NOTHING HAPPENED. So I waited a bit, and took a shot of the dunes with some left over ambient day light on them, and then took another shot of the stars about an hour or so later. That's my method for doing nightscapes... just so much easier than trying to light paint or whatever. Light painting has it's place, but it wasn't here. I really tried to take a reserved, and more believable approach to the shot this go round all the while making it something special. The comp is tall, but I just felt drawn to make it so. Love those foreground lines. Ripples in the sand are so good for that.
