DESIGNER: Unikko (poppy) was designed in 1964 after Armi Ratia, Marimekko´s founder, had announced that Marimekko would never print a flower pattern. Maija Isola refused to obey Armi´s orders and - in protest - created an entire series of floral prints. One of them was Unikko which has become a story of creativity, strength, courage and faith in oneself. MATERIAL: Made with hard, glazed porcelain. This white stoneware has a long lifespan and patterns that won't fade or wear off. Handle is made from rubber wood. FEATURES: Fill it with your favorite stories and share with good company. Sami Ruotsalainen designed this teapot as part of the Oiva dinnerware collection. The clean lines and serene character are inspired by Japanese design. He handpicked Maija Isola's beloved Unikko pattern to complement its simplicity and tranquility. CARE: Hand wash only. Using a ceramic teapot on a stove or a cooktop is not recommended. Do not soak wooden parts in water. Coating wooden parts with oil is recommended. You may use oils made specifically for wood or a vegetable cooking oil. To apply, wipe on liberally with a rag. Let set for 30 minutes, and then remove the excess. Reapply as needed. COMPLETE YOUR COLLECTION: Marimekko is a Finnish lifestyle design company renowned for its original prints and colours.
