"Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart." ~Washington Irving The past week has been so hectic! Apart from Christmas chaos my little sister is having her first baby - she is due January 5th but we are all very aware that she could be early! So much preparation taking place right now. Christmas is about family though and I am enjoying all of the hubbub. I have had these pictures ready for a little while and just haven't found the time to edit and post them but at last here they are! I seem to be amassing a little collection of Christmas stockings. I have the two that I have photographed the last few years - the Victorian pink and the beaded ivory one - but this year I came across a little stocking at Free People that I loved. I bought it, unstitched a few little bits, and then added a little shimmery Gillyflower. I love it! I think it is so sweet. I also bought a burlap and lace stocking to actually use for Christmas and attached a velvet rose that I purchased from one of my favourite shops here in town. Incidentally this shop purchased a large order of Gillyflowers from me and they now sit throughout their beautiful Christmas displays! I also made some flowers for my Mum which I have photographed for you to see along with some of my favourite Christmas treasures. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas! Only a few more days to go! I have also added a few items to the Etsy Shop! Pop over and have a look!
