I'm jumping from one thing to another at the moment, jewellery over the past two weeks, textiles this week. I made a piece of felt for a project I need for next year, as well as an art quilt I'm stitching. I'm also painting fabric that I'm turning into a bag for a class next year. the art quilt my new piece of felt that I made the fabric that I'm painting Not hard to tell I'm obsessed with colour and circles. I know where the time has gone this past month. I went up to Berry in NSW and taught a wonderful group of ladies my fabric journal workshop and the circles on canvases. I came home and taught two painted paper collage workshops from home, and then went off to Ballarat for a week to teach more lovely students how to dye fabrics, threads and buttons and then turn these into a journal that was all hand stitched. The following week I taught for four days at the Australian Quilting Convention in Melbourne with another fabulous group of students. I'm now home working on some textile work for an exhibition in May. I feel so lucky to be doing something I really love. some of the lovely circles made by the Berry students these were the collages from one of the workshops at home some of the beautiful dyed fabrics and journals created by the Ballarat students the circles created by the students at AQC two of the bags made at AQC, I had 20 students all together and missed getting photos of their bags and fabric journals. It's always a rush at the end. Thanks for dropping by I really will try to post more often. I seem to post more regularly on my Facebook Page, it's much quicker than writing a blog post, but I'll try to catch up.

I thought I should make a blog post, I've missed a whole year. I post on my Facebook Page and Instagram, but have decided I still need to add things here from time to time. I've done lots of teaching since my last post, travelling to Queensland, NSW and SA as well as teaching in Victoria and from home. We've had terrible fires across Australia this summer as you've probably seen and we're only half way through summer. The volunteer fire fighters all deserve a medal and unfortunately we have lost a few, so sad. So many houses and animals destroyed. Drought, winds and high temperatures don't help the situation. I've been so busy creating more journal pages and looking after my grandchildren. Their Mum will finish her course tomorrow and will then be able to say she's a certified Dietician. I sometimes feel that I'm certifiable after looking after them and trying to meet my deadlines, but they add so much joy to my life, and are all showing strong tendencies towards art (not that I'm trying to force them in any way). Just a few more photos of the journal. a felt embellished tree I like adding worry dolls, pieces of knitted fabric and jersey shirt buttonhole bands to my pages watercolour daffodils and collage papers more watercolour flowers ribbon that has been stitched then burnt through the layers fabrics, labels and papers were all stitched to these pages. I'm slowly catching up with things. I have some fabulous teaching events coming up in the next two years starting with one on July the 14th to the 20th this year, at South Australian Quilt Encounter details here This is a two day workshop where you take a photo or image and re create it using lots of scraps of fabric, you can be as accurate or as abstract as you like adding stitching and embellishments as you go. I like to add unusual objects to convey certain things. I've used press studs in the last photo to represent hay bales. I will also be teaching a three day fabric journal workshop using recycled fabrics that we will over dye old fabrics, recycled clothing, lace, doilies and threads are all dyed ready to use some buttons can also be dyed too we will make our own foam stamps that can be used time and time again, for printing on fabric or paper and can be used where ever you use commercial stamps These are some of the fabrics waiting to be worked on now they are bound into the cover one of the pages using lots of the dyed scraps this page has been printed using two of my hand made foam stamps I would love to meet you over in South Australia if you're there. It's a great event with lots of inspiring tutors and students. I'll be back with my August teaching event at Berry Quilting Retreat in the next post

Where does the time go? I can't believe it's June already. I'm busy working on journal commissions right now, as well as trying to set up my own on-line workshop that I hope to have ready in July. The workshop will be about making a Junk Journal, I hope some of you will be able to join me. I'll have details soon. I've finally completed another journal which is now in my Etsy shop. This is slightly smaller dimension wise than my usual journals, hence the slightly cheaper price. It still has 120 pages in fabric and papers. I've been so busy of late that I've had quite a few things that I've made and haven't had time to put them into my Etsy shop HERE until now. I'm still adding things over the next few days. Here's just a start. I've bought myself a wire spiral binder, something I've wanted for a long time, so that I could make my own sketch books and journals. I decided I'd also make some to go in my shop. The covers are a piece of my artwork adhered to mount board. The pages are 300gsm water colour paper with a double sided sheet of my hand decorated paper in between each one. There are 50 pages in total including both sides. They are great for sketching, journalling or as a diary as you can work on all of the pages. These have become my daily journals now. the cover the inside cover and first page the water colour and decorated paper pages all the decorated pages are different another journal cover the inside cover and first page one of the decorated paper pages another one. I've also added some of my hand carved stamps and fabric cards. a lotus seed head a garlic bulb an abstract flower one of my fabric cards another fabric card I'll be adding more journal, stamps and cards over the next few days. I'm back into colour mode again, not that I ever really left it. Doing the vintage book was a slight diversion. The above images are covers for signatures for journals I'm making as part of my exhibition. The show is called 'The Works' which aptly describes it. Patsy and I both have a diverse range of things we create. I paint with pastels but will also have some collage and mixed media paintings. I will have lots of jewellery. I'll also be selling some of my journals. Patsy does fabulous acrylic paintings but she will also have some magnificent bags she's made, some divine directors chairs she's painted and also some journals. Patsy is a friend of actress Beverley Dunn, you Aussies may know her from Bellbird fame, but she's also been in many other TV shows and is regularly on the stage and guess what, she's opening the exhibition for us, what a thrill. This is the finished collage I had in my earlier post. I've now added my 'lollipop trees. This will have a mount and a simple black frame. I can't believe I've been nominated once more for this award from Dneese and this one from Sam Thank you so much ladies it's a lovely honour. I always find it hard to nominate other blogs as I have so many I love. Way more than the seven suggested, so I nominate you ALL. Wow I can't believe how bad I've been neglecting my blog. I just seem to manage to keep up on my Facebook Page. I've been demonstrating at the Craft Fair in Western Australia and also teaching a two day Fabric Journal workshop for Dale Rollerson from the Thread Studio. Now I'm getting ready to go and teach at Noosa and Gympie in Queensland. I love being so busy especially when it's doing something I thoroughly enjoy. I made and sold quite a few bags at the Craft Fair some of the students in my fabric journal workshop. these beautiful pages were made by one of the students ready to go into the covers I also had some of my paintings and collage canvases on display I've since been experimenting with leaves, printing on the Gelli® plate. I'm teaching a printing and journal workshop in Noosa next week, then a fabric journal workshop in Gympie, it should be fun, and hopefully I'll have a few days in-between the workshops to sit in the sun and check out the beach. I've also added some more paper packs to my Etsy shop Thank you for dropping by. I'll try not to miss posting in September.

I know I said I would blog more, but finding time is so difficult these days. I put lots more on my Facebook page as it's quicker. I really will try harder. I've been busy making lots of samples for workshops I'm teaching this year and next, as well as getting paintings done for an exhibition in October. Below is some of what I've been up to. I'll be teaching this workshop at the South Australian Quilt convention in July this is another sample, in progress, for the above workshop this is a class sample for a workshop in Link Here Berry NSW I'm teaching in August. we will make our own stamps then paint and print our fabric, this can then be worked back into with stitching and beads. It could also be painted without the stitching and made into fabric lengths. Catch up soon

I can't believe I missed posting in May, it's June already, half of the year has almost gone. I taught a two day journal workshop from home and had a lovely group of students at Artified attend my Gelli plate printing workshop. That's where part of the month went. I've spent all of this week home trying to catch up on some projects. Following are some of the things I've been doing. a fabric wall hanging made from my hand dyed fabrics and Liberty prints this is still progressing all hand stitched furnishing fabric scraps, this is one side of a bag this is the other side, they were inspired by the work of French textile artist de Segolaine Schweitzer some stamped, collage and stitched cards above and below the Gelli printing workshop I was very proud to have some of my sketchbook and journal pages printed in this lovely book too. I can't believe it's two weeks since my last post. I'm working on three journals, getting ready for an exhibition, preparing work for my online class for 21 Secrets, planning a junk journal workshop from home, finalising details of a workshop I'm teaching for the Calligraphy Society of Victoria in July and getting ready to look after my three year old grandson, two days a week, while my daughter goes back to University again (this is her third time), ain't life grand. I love it all. Here a few photos of some of the journal pages in the three that I'm working on. I love making trees, this time I added some sheep and a stone wall I hand painted the flower and the fabric a print of one of my graphics and a felt flower I made the houses are becoming an obsession like the trees this is a patchwork page with lots of free motion stitching I'll have details about the workshop I'm teaching for the Calligraphy Society of Victoria in my next post. I have a very busy couple of months coming up. I'm giving a talk and demonstration to the Mornington Patchworkers in October, as well as being the guest artist (really thrilled) at the Stitches and Craft Fair in Caulfield Vic. from the 23rd to the 26th of October.
