About The initial inspiration for the elemental top collection by Alvaro Uribe for Wooda was wooda’s iconic logo of a tree. We felt it captured the company’s synergy for working with wood and its history as a furniture maker. To expand the story, we looked for elements in nature that occurred around trees that could be poetically translated into tops, hence the Agua and cairn versions. This resulted in three tops whose sculptural nature made them perfect items to admire while at rest as objects of art, or to meditate over while spinning them. See our more sculptural and decorative large elemental tops, too. Each top comes with a dish for the top to spin in that is marked with a unique serial number and designer signature. About the designer: Alvaro Uribe is an American-born, Colombian-raised and New York-based designer. He graduated from pratt institute with honors and soon after started his own boutique and design studio in the up-and-coming design center of Brooklyn. Alvaro’s design vision and sensitivity create products that transcend trends and fashion and set a tone for the future. His commitment is to create useful design solutions with a poetic story, and add value and inspire the imagination of people. His studio’s passion is to transform objects into unique experiences that bring optimism into everything they do. This passion for design has led to work with an impressive group of international and American clients. His work has been recognized with three red dot design awards, three good design awards, the idea award and many others. This listing is for a single small tree top and base.
