Africa - How I love Thee!! A little while back, I created a series of water colour and ink African animal art, for one of my lovely art clients. This series was such a pleasure to work on and very close to my heart and also very close to my clients heart, as I created the series from their original photos from one of their many African adventures. Interested in a print of this lovely elephant? You can grab one HERE You can also check out the rest of my Art Gallery HERE Some art series details: This art series is actually quite large, close to a meter wide, so it was a job I worked on over quite a few weeks and became completely immersed in....well here are some more photos... These are the photos that I created the series from... Working on the wild dogs painting Up close and personal with wild dogs - So cute and slightly feral at the same time!! I'd say they would try gnawing your head off if you went in for a hug! Botswana wild dogs - The finished piece. Close up of the elephant art work piece...elephants have such amazing eyelashes, they have a mind of their own, and are so long! Proud Botswana elephant - The finished piece. Close up of my leopard artwork.....this lovely lady took quite a while to create - look at all those spots! Botswana leopard, basking in the afternoon sun - The finished piece. And last, the Botswana water buffalo - the finished piece. This guy had so much attitude, he was such a pleasure to draw/paint. I am looking forward to (when time allows) further creating a large series of African Animal paintings and drawings....I have so many amazing photos and memories from my own Adventures in Africa to draw from. It is definitely high on my to-do-list, so hopefully a bit later this year there will be news of an exhibition, I just need a month or two spare to create my series of what are sure to be masterpieces =) =) Till next blog, stay safe

As the golden hues of sunset kiss the sea, this exquisite print captures the serene beauty of Ardulanish Bay with an Art Nouveau twist. The piece is a riot of colour, where the warm oranges and pinks of the evening sky blend seamlessly with the tranquil blues and purples of the Scottish waters. Embellished with graceful, flowing lines characteristic of the Art Nouveau style, the tableau oozes an organic essence, as if nature itself has been stylised into a dance of curves and waves. The sun, a radiant orb, dips towards the horizon, its light reflecting off the gently rippling water, leading the eye through a mesmerising path across the bay. Silhouetted rock formations rise majestically, framing the scene with their powerful, yet elegant outlines. The delicate interplay of light and shadow infuses the print with a sense of depth and harmony. In the foreground, the intricate detailing of the rocks and pools showcases the signature elegance and decorative quality of the Art Nouveau movement. Allow the tranquil yet vibrant aura of a Scottish harbour at dusk to grace your space with this enchanting print. Inspired by the serene beauty of Portree Harbour in the Isle of Skye, the artwork is a harmonious interplay of colour and fluid form, reflecting an Art Nouveau influence that adds a timeless elegance to the piece. At the heart of the composition rests a graceful sailing vessel, its white-and-red hull casting a subtle reflection upon the still water. The brightly coloured sails are gently furled, hinting at a day's journey now complete. The boat's masts reach up to touch the hues of the twilight sky, standing proud against the backdrop of the gently rolling hills. The row of quaint harbourside dwellings, each painted with a palette of warm oranges, stark whites, and soothing blues, adds to the sense of calm and shelter. The symmetry of the houses is echoed in the water below, where their mirrored images ripple with soft touches of gold and violet caused by the fading light of day. Framed by the early evening sky, the clouds above are a subdued mosaic of purples and blues, wrapping the scene with a sense of imminent nightfall. This print evokes the peaceful end to a day in the harbour, where the juxtaposition of warmth and coolness, light and shadow, brings a jewel-toned vibrancy that is both enchanting and restful. Incorporate this depiction of Portree Harbour into your interior to create an inviting and cultured ambience that celebrates the unique charm of Scottish coastal life.

Embrace the vivacious dance of colour and light in this captivating print, a testament to the wild beauty of the River Esk in Angus. Evocative of the expressionist movement, this piece is imbued with bold, emotive strokes that leap across the canvas, creating a vibrant tapestry of hues that whisper tales of the Scottish landscape's raw charm. The essence of the river is captured with a sense of immediacy and dynamism as the water reflects the ever-changing skies above. A single tree, resplendent with autumnal hues of fiery orange, becomes a focal point – its leaves almost alight with a life of their own amidst a backdrop of contrasting cool blues and gentle earth tones. This striking arboreal figure is echoed in the waters below, where distorted reflections blend with the fragmented colours on the surface, giving a hint of the water's gentle flow. The expanse of the riverbank unfolds in a symphony of brushstrokes, seamlessly transitioning from warm, sandy tones to the tranquil blues and purples that suggest a serene depth. The horizon is a delicate balance of form and colour, with soft whites and greys marking the boundary between the terrestrial and the celestial. Revel in the atmospheric impressions of a Scottish river that refuses to be tamed, a scene that challenges the viewer's senses and invites them to step beyond mere observation into the realm of sensation. This print is a visual homage to a landscape that is at once familiar and transcendent, an invitation to explore the wild heart of Scotland from the comfort of your own space.
