Vanmorgen is het complete VeloTilt team in Enkhuizen bijeen. We bepraten de ontwikkelingen van de laatste maanden. De grootste uitdaging en oorzaak van flink wat vertraging, de lock, werkt nu perfect. Op dit moment werkt het nog met een shifter maar Piet en Bram hebben ieder een nieuwe 'schakelaar' gemaakt die met een klein tikje van de wijsvinger en duim bediend wordt. Dit is de ultieme oplossing, gewoon een klikje omhoog en omlaag waarbij je de stand altijd kunt zien. De bediening van de beide kantelsegmentjes is nu centraal geregeld door een simpel draadje langs twee rondjes. De benodigde kabellengte is maar 12 mm. Briljant! Bram heeft een nieuw stuurtje gemaakt dat wat beter oogt en ook stabieler en beter verstelbaar is. Die zal later in de middag worden ingebouwd. De naakte VeloTilt is nu ook in Enkhuizen. Ook hier zit de nieuwe lock op en ook hier werkt ie perfect. Vast is gewoon muurvast. Het regent voortdurend en rijden is nog even geen genoegen. David en Jeroen bepraten de mogelijkheden om de voorbrug geheel uit carbon te maken. Dat gaat in de komende maanden gebeuren zodat de tweede VeloTilt vrijwel geheel uit carbon zal bestaan. Ook zal al komende maand een toertop gemaakt worden. Hiermee is goed zicht onder alle omstandigheden gegarandeerd. David probeert of ie in de fiets past. Dat blijkt prima te gaan waarmee duidelijk is dat rijders tot 1.95 meter met schoenmaat 47 in de huidige fiets passen. We kijken hoeveel helling er met de nieuwe bredere wielpoten mogelijk is. De hoek is heel groot dus daar is geen probleem. Met de bredere spoorbreedte valt de VeloTilt met maximale helling met David erin zelfs niet om. De bredere wielstand, spoorbreedte 99 cm, hebben we gekozen om de lucht rond de romp van de fiets ongehinderd te laten stromen. Later kijken we met een smallere wielbasis waar interferentie met de romp optreedt. Het verwisselen van wielpoten is in een paar minuten gebeurd en zelfs het verwisselen voor een wiel met een elektromotor is ook zo klaar. Als de regen is opgehouden gaan David en Jeroen rijden. David met de gestroomlijnde fiets, Jeroen met de naakte VeloTilt. De proefritten verlopen geheel naar wens. Jeroen blijkt de naakte VeloTilt zelfs met volledig losse handen te kunnen rijden. Dit is een heel groot compliment aan Bram Smit die de geometrie van de fiets heeft ontworpen. Ook David is bijzonder te spreken over het rijden met de VeloTilt en wil zelfs met de compleet gesloten fiets rijden. Direct nadat David met gesloten kap is vertrokken slalomt ie al tussen het verkeer door. Ook dit gaat uitstekend en hij komt opgetogen terug. We rijden al filmend achter hem aan en hij rijdt het hele industrieterrein over naar de werkplaats.
