La più grande mostra fotografica dedicata a "Il Gattopardo" sarà inaugurata a Ciminna, dove il film capolavoro di Luchino Visconti fu girato oltre cinquant'anni fa. Il regista che "spiega" a Burt Lancaster come aggredire Ciccio Tumeo, lo stesso Visconti che spruzza sul viso di Rina Morelli, nelle vesti della Principessa Maria Stella Salina, moglie di don Fabrizio, del borotalco per far apparire ancora più "realistico" il lungo viaggio in carrozza della Famiglia per raggiungere Donnafugata. E ancora la costruzione dello scenografico palazzo del Principe o la famiglia Salina nella chiesa madre di fronte una miriade di riflettori e operatori. Sono alcune delle trecento foto, di cui cento totalmente inedite, che verranno esposte nella Piazza Matrice. L'esposizione, con foto raccolte in un anno circa di lavoro in varie parti d'Italia, racconta i novanta giorni di lavoro per la realizzazione del Film a Ciminna, trasformata nella Donnafugata di metà Ottocento. I backstage della lunga avventura che coinvolse la piccola comunità in quello che sarebbe stato un capolavoro della cinematografia italiana. L'esposizione è uno degli appuntamenti dell'evento: La Donnafugata de "Il Gattopardo" cinquant'anni dopo che si terrà a Ciminna il 23 e il 24 Agosto 2014. Il programma prevede, oltre alla mostra, un annullo Postale, un libro, la visita ai luoghi del set e il pranzo del Gattopardo.
