Welcome! I have another September MFT Stamps card to share today; my first card with the Geometric Greenery stamp set was--well--leafy, but not really a Fall card. I wanted to play with Fall colors this time, as well as use a sentiment that could work for Thanksgiving. In addition to the Geometric Greenery set, I used some other new September release products as well: the Single Stitch Line Oval Dynamics, and the Chevron Grid Stencil, airbrushed with my Copic markers. (I also airbrushed a hint of BG23 for sky behind the leaves.) I hope you get a chance to visit the MFT Stamps Blog for a list of participants in today's Release Replay post--I bet you'll be inspired! TGIF my friends! Here we are at the last day of June and it's my final post for the 2017 month of mermaids. Which under the sea beauty had the honor of wrapping this all up... wait... what?! That's no mermaid you say... that's a merMAN! LOL, yep MerMan Kody from Some Odd Girl is seeing us off as we sail onto other themes for the rest of the summer. Once I got done coloring this hunky swimmer he ended up having a rather Stallone-ish look about him, don'tcha think? And that sentiment was too perfect not to pair up with this salty merman. ;) Ok then, thanks for swimming the salty seas with me this past month. I hope you had just as much fun as I did. Toodles! Supply list: cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Copic X-Press It paper- oooold My Mind's Eye digital stamp- Some Odd Girl (MerMan Kody) stamps- Ellen Hutson (Stay Salty set), My Favorite Things (Mermazing set) ink- Versafine onyx black and Hero Arts blue My Favorite Things stitched border die Doodlebug washi tape Studio Calico gold enamel dots Sharpie white marker Copic markers: skin- E000, E00, E11, E04, R30, R02 hair- B18, B39, BV29, B41 facial hair- BV20, BV23, BV25 eyes- E84, YG95, BG000 tail- C6, C9, 100, 0, B18, B39, BV29, B41 trident- Y11, Y21, Y26, Y28, BG23, BG49
Good morning! I hope your weekend went just swimmingly. I made time to practice my no-line coloring on the new Mermaid Dakota digi from Some Odd Girl by printing her in washout mode. Talk about a challenge... a fun challenge, but a challenge none the less. I ended up going with a peaches and cream kind of color scheme for her tail and I wish her gossamer fins showed up better in the photo because they look really glittery and beautiful in person. Because of the disappearing lines in no-line coloring I was able to soften her look a bit by simply ignoring how low her original eyebrows dipped and how high they arched giving her a less severe brow. She looks much more sweet and innocent now which I thought suited her peachy pink coloring better. I am also going to go ahead and enter this card into the June "anything goes" challenge over on the SOG blog. :) Talk at'cha later! Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Challenge 166 for My Favorite Things. Are you up to the challenge and looking to win a $50 gift voucher? Read on! This is a mini-slim card with finished dimensions of 6 inches x 3 1/2 inches. I created a panel and masked off a good portion of it and then used the Slimline Cloud Edges stencil and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink to create the sky. I then used an old toothbrush and more of the ink loosened with a little water to spritz over the area randomly. The mask was removed. I stamped a couple of the images from High-Flying Adventure on to Copic friendly cardstock and I coloured the images to fit the challenge colours. BG11 BG23 BV31 BV00 BV01 BV02 V17 E40 E41 E42 E43 E44 Points were highlighted with a white gel pen, images were die cut using the coordinating die-namics and then they were backed with foam tape and applied to the background. To complete the card I stamped the sentiment from Banner Day Sentiments on to a 'flag' from Banner Flag Die-namics, backed this with foam tape and applied. I also die cut some of the sweet little clouds included in the High-Flying Adventure set and arranged them and adhered with more foam tape. A few sparkling clear sequins completed the card and the panel was attached to a white cardstock card base. Good luck with your entry for the Challenge!
