Christer Strömholm (1918-2002) was one of the great photographers of the 20th century, but he is little known outside of his native Sweden. Arriving in Paris in 1959, Strömholm settled in Place Blanche in the heart of the city's red-light district. There, he befriended and photographed young transsexuals struggling to live as women and to raise money for sex-change operations. “These are images of people whose lives I shared and whom I think I understood. These are images of women—biologically born as men—that we call ‘transsexuals,’” Strömholm wrote in his book of the series, Les Amies de Place Blanche, published in 1983. His surprisingly intimate portraits and lush Brassaï-like night scenes form a magnificent, dark, and at times quite moving photo album, a vibrant tribute to these girls, the "girlfriends of Place Blanche."

Love is a universal language that transcends time.
Ann Margret and Brigitte Bardot The love affair between Ann Margret and Elvis is also fascinating, and really kind of sad. And although I do not condone the actions of Ms. Bardot neither past nor present, she had a wonderful sense of style.

Vintage MYSTERY cellophane photo packs ~ 10 snapshots in each pack. Each lot of 10 arrives to you in a cellophane packet with a card stock backer. Both black & white and sepia toned and many tones in between! Various sizes. From many eras, guessing early 1920s-1960s. I would consider a few of antique age. A few look like they've are reprints from an older antique photo but I still consider those vintage. Some may be older or newer than dates guesstimated. Fascinating subjects such as: landscapes, people, architecture, animals, cars and more! Some taken from little albums so they have the perforations on the side, some school photos. Great for scrapbooking, collages, and other arty endeavors! Frame up and have instant relatives! The paper ranges from matte to glossy and some miscellaneous papers. Please note that the photos are not necessarily the pack you will receive. The photos for this listing were overall photos of all the photos that I made into separate packs. These are mystery MIXED lots! There may be multiples if you purchase more than one pack as I did find some photos with the same people. All great for crafting or displaying. Overall good vintage condition with some wear on some. Some have writing on the backs and just a very few on the front. Some wear on some, small tears, bent corners and edges and/or surface wear/scuffing. Some slight curving of the paper. These flaws are conducive with age and use. Remember that these are at least 60 years old or older! These are vintage papers, they came from an older estate where mildew could have been present. I do not detect an odor, but sometimes odors come out from papers when in sealed packages. Colors may appear differently in person than on your computer monitor or phone screen. They will be shipped in a rigid cardboard mailer. Please inspect photos and ask questions if need be, thanks! *Sorry, but I cannot take any requests for particular genders or subjects that you would like included in your pack as the packs are pre-made, thank you!* FOLLOW this Magical Link for More ----->>>> http://houseofmirthvintage.etsy.com Upon receipt of your purchase please contact me BEFORE leaving negative or neutral feedback so we can work to resolve any problem. **Between 1617 and 1621 the English physician and polymath Robert Fludd published his masterwork Utriusque Cosmi, a book split into two volumes and packed with over 60 intricate engravings. Urszula Szulakowska explores the philosophical and theological ideas behind the extraordinary images found in the second part of the work.** Robert Fludd was a respected English physician (of Welsh origins) employed at the court of King James I of England. He was a prolific writer of vast, multi-volume encyclopaedias in which he discussed a universal range of topics from magical practices such as alchemy, astrology, kabbalism and fortune-telling, to radical theological

Wedding Bells is the perfect marriage between fragrance and disease resistance. This rose boasts 50-60 pink petals on high-centered blooms that are 4” in diameter on average. The continually blooming rose grows on a bushy, upright plant with dark green foliage. While its fragrance is moderate, it is also complex. Wedding Bells starts with a sweet, classic rose scent and then transitions to notes of myrrh and incense. It is very disease resistant to blackspot and mildew. Wedding Bells makes a lovely wedding or anniversary gift for a happy couple.
