#5: "I was reading a humor/memoir-type book and the author was describing her kidney stones. I could really feel it and thought she was maybe the best writer ever to describe something so perfectly that I could feel it. Cut to an hour later, and I'm in the emergency room being treated for kidney stones."

The French Blow-Dry Set: 6 Tips To Do It Perfectly - Behindthechair.com
Blow.Out. Two words that bring sheer dread and terror to some of you ladies out there. Well today I’m excited to be partnering with Pro Beauty Tools to help shed a little light on how to make blow drying your hair a little bit easier. Mastering the “blow out” can take a bit of practice but these 7 tips will help you master the technique in no time. Let’s get to it! Blow Out Supplies: Thickening Styler Volume Builder Pro Beauty Tools Ionic Blow Dryer 1-2 Hair sectioning clips Pro Beauty Tools 1 3/4″ Round Brush Pro Beauty Tools Professional Ceramic Straightener Flex Finish spray Tip #1 / Apply Product. Using products will hep you achieve a better result when blow drying. If you’re going for volume, apply a voluming mousse or gel and focus the product right at the roots. If you’re using a blow out spray or heat protectant then be sure to spray it from a distance so it’s more evenly distributed. This will also make sure it doesn’t gunk up at the root which can actually weigh the hair down. Tip #2 / Pre-dry. Always dry the hair a little bit, between 70-80%, before going in with a brush. Trying to brush through sopping wet hair can tangle it up causing the strands to snag and snap. I love to let mine air dry while applying my makeup but you can also flip the head upside down and blow dry the hair underneath at the roots to give the hair a big boost of volume. The blow dryer I’m using is the Ionic Blow Dryer from Pro Beauty Tools. It’s super lightweight and has a high-powered air flow so it dries the hair more quickly while exposing it to a lot less heat. It’s under $40 and available at Target so be sure to check it out if you’ve been looking for a great, new dryer. Tip #3 / Section the hair. If you divide off the hair and work in small sections it makes round brushing it a whole lot easier. I split mine into 3 or 4 sections working in horizontal layers. If you skip this step and try to round brush all of your hair at once it’ll take a lot longer and can cause breakage since you won’t be able to really concentrate the brush like you can with smaller sections. Tip #4 / Use the nozzle. This little attachment nozzle works to centralize all the air from the dryer so you’re not just blasting heat all over the hair in different directions. It also makes it easy to line up with the brush so as you pull it through small sections of hair you can more easily follow the section down to the ends. Make sure to always point it downwards at the hair which will help minimize flyaways and get a smoother finish. Tip #5 / Choose a brush. The right brush can make a big difference in how your style turns out. If you round brush has a metal core it’ll heat up like an iron so these work really well if you have longer hair. If you have a lot of flyaways then reach for a brush with boar bristles since this provides a little more tension and also works great on coarser hair too. Grab a small or medium sized brush if you want to have a bit of curl at the ends and a larger brush can really help give you a smoother, straighter style. Tip #6 / Brush placement. If you’re tempted to just wrap your hair around the brush before blasting it with heat, do so carefully since this can very easily tangle up the hair. A good rule of thumb is to place the brush underneath sections no larger than the brush, pull the section taut, and then concentrate the dryer at the root or hairline. Once that’s dry, work down the section to the mid-length. Your ends dry the quickest so focusing on the roots and mid-length of the hair helps achieve the style more quickly while causing the least amount of damage. Tip #7 / Let it cool. After brushing through a section and blow drying to the ends, let the hair cool down on the brush before moving on to the next section. This small step will help the hair set so your style lasts a little bit longer. Bonus tip! Once all my hair is dry, I like to go back over any kinked pieces with a straightener. This Professional Ceramic Straightener from Pro Beauty Tools smooths the hair with one easy swipe so I really love using this as a very last step. I really hope you loved these 7 Tips for a Smoother Blow Dry! If you have any other great tips then be sure to leave them down below in the comments section so we can all help each other out! See you next time for another tutorial! xo, Missy Thank you to Pro Beauty Tools for sponsoring on this post!
