I worked out another One Sheet Wonder template that allows you to create three cards from one sheet of 6"x 6" decorative paper and three sheets of cardstock - one neutral and two coordinating colours which in this case was green and maroon. I was in need of another sympathy card when I designed this template to create three cards. At the same time I created a Christmas and birthday card because that worked pretty well with my decorative paper. I used digital images from Beccy's Place and added greetings in Corel Draw before I laser printed them on the sheet of neutral cardstock. I cut all three sheets of cardstock in half and folded one of each colour in half to create my three card fronts. I trimmed the decorative paper according to the cutting template. cut my greeting/images apart being careful to ensure that I could fit all the pieces I needed in before cutting anything. I cut three cut maroon layers (1 7/8" x 3") for my images and then cut the other pieces I would need from my scraps. I used four of the 1" x 3" decorative paper pieces on this card gluing them equidistant from each other and the edges on the ivory/neutral card front. I sponged the ivory strip with maroon ink after I punched it with the scallop border punch so it would better show up on my card. I added the green strip and then glued this element over the bottom edge of my decorative paper strips. I watercoloured my image and adhered it to a maroon layer then glued it to my card front. I added clear dots of Dimensional Magic to the scallops and let it dry over night. It adds some subtle dimension to my sympathy card. Next, I worked on my Christmas one. I glued the 3" x 3" and one of the 1" x 3" strips to a 3.25" x 4.5" layer of ivory/neutral cardstock leaving a gap in between. I cut a piece of green cardstock 3/4" x 3.25", embossed it with a wordy Christmas embossing folder and glued it in place over the gap. I glued this whole element to the maroon card front. I watercoloured my image, glued it to a maroon layer and mounted it on my card front overlapping the green strip using 3D foam tape. For the birthday card, I glued the last four strips of decorative paper to my card front (see the sketch) leaving very small margins between the edges and the pieces. I watercoloured my image, layered it onto a maroon rectangle and mounted it to the center of my green card front. I added some small rectangles into the remaining spaces, added faux stitching with a marker and used watercolour and my stipple stamp to add a bit of texture to them. Really happy with how these cards worked out. There are other variations that can be created using these elements. If you decide to play with this template I would love to see how you created your cards!! Leave me a link to your creations in the comments below. Enjoy!!!!!!!!! Therese
I've been wanting to create a One Sheet Wonder Template to make 4 cards from a 6 x 6 inch piece of DSP. This allows me to make a R2G Card kit with one sheet of 12x12 inches DSP. Well here it is! Again, it makes the most of the DSP with very little waste. The 4" square is cut corner to corner creating 2 triangles. Note: The 1/2 inch accent strip for the card with a triangle needs to be at least 6" long. The card layouts allow for wide and/or tall ones. The DSP can be placed on the left or right hand sides of the card when placing the rectangular pieces. Check the next posting for the cards I created with this OSW Template.

Hey, Bloggers! We heard back from Sandy at Operation Write Home. She'd mentioned how much everyone loved the cutting formulas we featured during the Memorial Day blog hop! I decided to take another OWH Card Sketch (#24) and see if I could whip out another set of instructions. This one took a bit. I think I had three crumpled pieces of graph paper on my desk until I finally arrived at a suitable batch of nine cards. (And only three of them look exactly like sketch #24!) You'll need the following: 12x12 Paper A, B, and C (Tahiti Brown, Yellow and Red) 8.5x11 Paper D, E, and F (Tahiti Green and Orange, Full Circle Sand) 12" Tonic Paper Trimmer Adhesive Stamps (Be Still, Chapter One, and Great Outdoors) Ink It's good to have six different paper colors. It just makes the mixin' and matchin' easier. 6/21/12 Blog Update: Just completed quick video for those who like to see the formulas in action! Go to the bottom of this blog to see the finished cards and to pick up the paper and stamps I used! 1. Trim each 12x12 at 9.5 and 5.5". Cut the 5.5x12 horizontally at 10.25 and 8.5". Cut each 1.75x5.5 horizontally at 5". Trim the 4x12 horizontally at 10.5 and 5.25". Cut the 2.5x12 horizontally at 11, 8.75, 6.5 and 3.25". Score and fold each 5.5x8.5 horizontally at 4.25". 2. Things will go just a bit faster if you first score each 8.5x11 sheet vertically at 4.25". Cut horizontally at 5.5". Fold each card in half. Assemble the parts 'n pieces any way you like. Stamp with images and adhere to assemble. I made it a mission to add a simple embellishment to each card in addition to the stamped images. I had fun using stuff from my stash! Tah-dah!!! If you're liking this method of efficient card making, you'll want to pick up our Idea Deck--fifty-two formulas for making great batches of cards, plus a few other bonus projects, too! There 'ya have it. Get out there and make some cards for our heroes! The eighteen cards below were created with the formula, stamps and papers in a set that can be purchased from Club Scrap for a screamin' deal!
It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it. ~John Burroughs, "Winter Sunshine" Hello! Our Winter card drive at Cards for Little Hearts (HERE) is winding down. Hi, Stamping Friends! With the 4-up text weight prints and two additional 8.5x11 prints in the Club Stamp Graffiti paper collection, I had all sorts of colorful card making options this month. And between our polar vortex and the Alberta clipper, I'm so glad we had something cheerful to help us survive the month of January! Here are your cutting instructions to make a total of fifteen standard-sized (A2) cards: 1. Trim both 8.5x11 White Text Prints vertically at 4.5 and 4". Cut each 4x11 horizontally at 5.75 and 5.25". 2. Score each of the seven papers listed in the diagram below vertically at 4.25". Cut horizontally at 5.5" and fold in half to make fourteen card bases. 3. Trim the 8.5x11 Black Smooth Plain horizontally at 10.5, 8.25 and 5.5". Trim the 2.75x8.5 horizontally at 8 and 4". Cut the 2.25x8.5 and .5x8.5 horizontally at 4.25". Score and fold the 5.5x8.5 horizontally at 4.25". 4. Trim the 8.5x11 White Smooth Plain horizontally at 9.25, 6.75 and 4". Cut the 4x8.5 horizontally at 6.75, 4.75 and 2.75". Trim the 2.75x8.5 and 2.5x8.5 horizontally at 7.5 and 3.75". Cut the 1.75x8.5 horizontally at 6.5 and 3.25". 5. Trim the 8.5x11 Black Smooth Plain vertically at 8 and 4". Cut each 4x11 horizontally at 10.5 and 5.25". Trim the .5x11 horizontally at 5.5". I incorporated all sorts of techniques into the cards. I'll try to touch on just a few . . . The rainbow on the left card panel was made with swipes of ink directly from the Neon Ink Pads. The panel on the right was done with the Neon Dabbers. Two great looks! One 8.5x11 Black Smooth was trimmed into four 4x5.25" panels (see photo below). I brushed a coat of white acrylic paint onto each of them and used it as a stamping surface. The teens in my life are going to be so jazzed when they receive these lively cards. Such a quick set of cards . . . I used the 8.5x11 White Smooth Print as the card base and layered strips of washi tape behind the panels on the two cards on the left. The White Smooth panels are trimmed to fit quotes from the unmounted stamps in the collection. Each panel was edged with a Neon Dabber. Neon inks were used to alter the black/white panel in the card at right. The quad printed panels make it so easy! Check out the addition of the printed sequins included in the set! I hope you enjoy making your version of the cards. Have an artful day! Tricia

I've been working on OSW (One Sheet Wonder) Template for 12"x12" Double-sided DSP and made sample cards for my OWH cardmaking group. I have a class tomorrow for them to create OWH card kits. I came up with this basic template to make eight cards along with several variations that you can make more out of it. You will need to first cut in 5"x12", the second cut in 5"x12" and the rest will be 2"x12". Then go by the cutting diagram. This is a draft that you will see my handwriting after many whiteouts. I will work on my computer to get nicer drawing. Tip: Punch out the focal image mat from the base layer that will be covered by dsp anyway. Hope this will give some inspiration whoever wants to try. UPDATE: Please click the template to open a new window with bigger clear picture. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing how to use up 6x6 patterned papers without creating any patterned paper scraps. A friend shared that this style of cardmaking can be referred to as a one sheet wonder. I'm not sure who originated the style, as I have seen many crafters refer to it, but please let me know if I should be crediting a specific crafter. Today I am sharing how to cut up a 6x6 piece of paper that will result in 2 of the exact same card. However in order to mix up the patterns because this is single sided paper I am cutting 2 sheets for a total of 4 cards. I am using cardstock to mat the patterned paper pieces which will create some cardstock scraps. In this blog post you can find a template for how to cut your paper as well as a sketch to show what should be done with those cuts. Of course feel free to mix it up to your own liking. This post and video is not sponsored but affiliate links are used to support my blog and channel. Thank you! Please let me know if you find this helpful and would like to see more.
