AP tests are exams designed to measure a person’s grasp of a particular subject area. Passing one of these exams certifies that you have achieved a level of learning commensurate with that of a student who has passed college classes in the subject. If you’re in high school and are preparing for college, Advanced Placement … Continue reading What’s on the AP Comparative Government & Politics Exam [Infographic]
This is an intermediate English as a second or foreign language (ESL / EFL) formal examination focused on comparative and superlative, giving suggestions and giving directions. No need to struggle with formatting or figuring out the answers in intermediate level English - It’s ready to print and comes with an answer key. Just add your school or college name. Everything can be edited. The exam starts with a reading passage containing comparatives and superlatives, including “not as [adjective] as." There are five multiple choice comprehension questions. The next section is dialogue which includes a situation of a friend feeling a bit blue and also discussing opinions about movies. 10 multi choice items. A student answer sheet is attached to the exam to help with speedy marking of these first 15 questions (the multi-choice sections). The next segment is dedicated to vocabulary. They are 10 fill in the blanks from boxes of words (to add difficulty, each box has one extra word that is not used). Two parts: Places in town and country e.g. hill, wood, hedge, petrol station; Making Suggestions: e.g. How about…? Why don’t we…? Shall we…? Grammar is the theme of the next section. 5 questions about can/could/might asking the students to recognise if the situation is permission, ability or a request. Lastly is the writing section. Students must write directions from one point on a map to another. It’s looking to elicit phrases such as “At the roundabout, take the second exit” or “Go over the bridge,” and so forth ADDITIONALLY INCLUDED: PowerPoint Revision Lessons and Practice Exercises: I include the slides I use for the two to three lessons prior to the students taking the exam. It's good for them to practice and be refreshed about what they learned before going into the exam. The exam file is provided in Word document format and can be edited (so too can the revision PowerPoint slides). The teacher's answer key is a marked-up version of the exam, also in Word. Answers are also provided for the revision exercises. The test is 60 minutes in duration and was given to grade 11 students (CEFR levels A2 going to B1) in a private school in south-east Asia. I hope it's useful to you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Click here to get notifications about my new resources and free products. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *********************************************************************************************** You might also like these: Bundle of 5 Pre-Intermediate ESL / EFL English Exams.
