This image was 100% created by AI and therefore is not breaking any copyright. Even though my shop is new, I promise I have been creating my own patterns for over ten years now. I tend to lean towards what I like, which is complex images that do NOT require backstitching (yes, yes, I realize the work is worth it at the end but instead I opt for larger patterns that have more definition instead of just dealing with the evil that is backstitching). These patterns are direct, no half stitches, no quarter stitches, no floss blending, no knots. Full stitches in one color only. Because of this they do tend to require a lot of different colors for definition and contrast, but in order to help with your organizing I have created floss cards that I have populated the symbols and DMC numbers for you, which will hopefully save you some time and frustration! Marija Tiurina‘s fantastical watercolor painting Eden is her biggest to date, measuring approximately 30 x 10 inches. The scene captures a woman kneeling amongst the inhabitants of a mythological forest, trapped within a busy scene that contains everything from an animated ramen bowl to an eel snaking its way through the center of her torso. The painting was inspired by the chaos of Hieronymus Bosch‘s The Garden of Earthly Delights, Tiurina creating her own take on the hedonistic 15th century work. More

Milan-based designer Andrea Minini (previously) recently completed a new series of animals illustrated with textured moiré patterns, creating an unusual intersection between natural forms and mathematics. It’s curious to see how the patterns give each illustration a great sense of motion, curving naturally with the shape of each animal. If you’re interested, many of these are available as prints here. One day while completing an oil painting of a field artist Iris Scott needed to make a few quick adjustments to some yellow flowers but every brush at her disposal was stained a deep dark blue. Not wanting to stop and wash the brushes she decided to make a few quick touchups with her fingers, a small change to her process that would immediately change the course of her career. Wearing a pair of surgical gloves Scott now paints exclusively with her fingers bringing an impressionistic sense of color and texture to all of her paintings. More
