Air France - Concorde
Club Concorde, a group of ex-pilots, maintainers, engineers, airline execs and Concorde enthusiasts has unveiled a plan that aims to put a Concorde back in the air by 2019, and supposedly they have a pile of cash to see their plans through to fruition.
In 1968, Popular Mechanics got its first look at the Concorde. Fifty years later, a new generation of supersonic passenger jets are nearly ready to take to the skies.
The concorde was the most famous plane in the world. Its futuristic design changed the way people travelled. Meet the man who became obsessed by its story
The British Airways logo has changed significantly over the years. Here’s a look at how the design has evolved, from origins to today.
Fifty years ago, the first Concorde SST took to the skies over Toulouse, France. Hailed in its day as a technological achievement to rival the first manned Moon landing. So, get your VIP boarding pass as we look back at the career of the luxury passenger aircraft that flew faster than the Sun.
CONCORDE - INTO THE SUNSET HOW DO I DRAW MY PRINTS? Starting with sketches with pencil and paper, then using various photographs as references I create the scene digitally. I'm drawing not tracing, so it can take quite a while. My aim is to create a fresh and modern take on the vintage travel posters of the early/mid 20th century. I print on an Epson printer using Epson Archival paper. I use Epson DURABrite Ultra Pigment Ink giving my prints a crisp and vibrant finish. Using high quality inks mean they are more resistant to fading, however be careful hanging your print in direct sunlight. HOW TO FRAME I sell the prints UNFRAMED but I create my artwork to standard sizes to give you as much choice as possible when looking for a frame. All my prints have a generous white border to give you maximum flexibility when choosing a frame. They fit many of the Ikea frames and you can also find similar sized frames easily in most department stores, or if you are feeling posh, you can get it framed professionally. If you need a starting point though then I can recommend Ikea Ribba 40cm x 50cm for A3 prints and Ikea Ribba 30cm x 40 for A4 prints. SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED I sign each print in pencil, wrap them in acid-free tissue paper and ship them in a hard cardboard tube for safe transport. I pop an illustrated bookmark, sticker and gift tag in each parcel - hopefully a touch more useful than a business card. Then I head for the post office. BUYING FOR A GIFT? Each print comes with a free gift tag and ribbon. So if your print is going to be given as a present, you can simply tie the ribbon and tag around the tube - no framing, no wrapping. Nice. POSTAGE I send out all artwork 1st class via Royal Mail although you can choose a shipping upgrade at checkout if required. If you buy more than one print at the same time you will only pay for postage once as I can fit quite a few in a tube. Thank you for looking at my work, I appreciate your time. If you have any questions please contact me and I'll do my best to help. PAPER SIZES Here is a handy list of paper sizes in both metric and imperial: A4 = 210mm x 297mm / 8.3" x 11.7" A3 = 297mm x 420mm / 11.7" x 16.5" A2 = 420mm x 594mm / 16.5" x 23.4" A1 = 594mm x 841mm / 23.4" x 33.1" COPYRIGHT All copyright Georgina Westley WATERMARKS Please note that some images are watermarked for online purposes only. This is to try and put an end to people downloading and selling my artwork as their own. Your purchased piece of art will not have any watermarks on.
Ten years later, the cause of Air France Flight 4590’s crash outside Paris is the subject of a trial starting today in France. All 100 passengers, nine crew, and four people on the ground died when the Concorde crashed on July 25, 2000.
