This is a set of three handmade wooden cat decorations which includes a grey wooden mouse. Each piece is painted and decorated by hand. (Since these are made by hand each piece is slightly unique and may differ a bit from the items pictured.) Any of the individual "cats" which did not stand firmly on their own have a base attached to them for additional support. The bottom of the base is covered in felt to help protect the surface of whatever the piece is displayed on. These were created using light orange, dark orange, black and red acrylic paint. They were hand-sanded to prior to painting. These pieces are created out of reclaimed wood from a worn-out fence on our property. Instead of tossing the material in a dumpster, we decided to give it a second life as a piece of art. Although it would have certainly been easier and less time-consuming to purchase the wood commercially, I find it more meaningful, as well as genuinely unique, to take the extra effort and be environmentally friendly where I can. That being said, there are only so many of these which I can create out of repurposed wood before my supply is depleted. Their sizes in descending order are approximately 10.5", 7.5", and 6.5 inches tall and three and a half inches wide. (They are hand-cut so sizes may vary by up to half an inch.) They are approximately 3/4 inches deep. Please email me with any questions.

Good Morning :) I was asked by Joann Fabrics to participate in their Summer of Joann Promotion "Cape Discovery "featuring alot of kids crafts .. I chose this crocheted Zippy Zebra , and there is a free pattern for him here . He was pretty easy , and the best thing about him is that his ears are crocheted on so I didn't have to worry that the youngest Grandson wouldn't be able to play with him. To see more of Joann Fabrics kids summer crafts click here. All you need is 3 colors of Red Heart acrylic yarn and a size F crochet hook ... adda a little fiber fill and you have a stuffed zebra ! The eyes are french knots so that makes it more child safe too. He is the perfect size to fit in his little carrier on the front of his ride on toy. The zebra can even stand on his head :) My version is on the left , I added some black to his mane , it didn't stand out enough I thought , and a polka dot bow. I chose to use the turquoise and green combo just like the origional .. Love those colors together ! If you make a Zippy Zebra , show me ! I would love to see your version ! Sign up to be a Joann Fabrics preferred customer and receive a 20% off coupon ! Thanks as always for your visits and comments ! Hope you are all having a great Memorial Day weekend :) linking to :http://daisycottagedesigns.blogspot.com/ http://www.jannolson.blogspot.com/ http://twenty-eight-0-five.blogspot.com/ http://katherinescorner.com/ http://www.petalstopicots.com/ http://kristenscreationsonline.blogspot.com/ http://diybydesign.blogspot.com/ http://www.jenniferrizzo.com/ http://www.funkyjunkinteriors.net/ http://debbie-debbiedoos.com/ http://thriftydecorchick.com/ http://betweennapsontheporch.net/ http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ http://diyshowoff.com/ http://sunnysimplelife.blogspot.com/ http://www.bystephanielynn.com/ http://elizabethandco.blogspot.com/ http://www.733blog.com/ http://cleanandscentsible.blogspot.com/ http://www.savvysouthernstyle.net/ http://www.cozylittlehouse.com/ http://thetablescaper.blogspot.com/ http://fresh-eggs-daily.blogspot.com/ http://thededicatedhouse.blogspot.com/ http://dixie-n-dottie.blogspot.com/ http://www.onsuttonplace.com/ http://nominimalisthere.blogspot.com/ http://mydailyphotojourney.blogspot.com/ http://lavendergardencottage.blogspot.com/ http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/ http://sarahndipities.indiemade.com/blog http://www.astrollthrulife.net/ http://ourpinterestingfamily.blogspot.com/

I am nesting. Like a crazy person. So I give myself permission to not actually do these this winter if I end up with a baby that hates crafts. I lost my breath when I saw this mailbox. We have an extra mailbox sitting in the barn waiting to be installed. I can't wait to make this puppy. I have been gathering my random paints and I can't wait to buy the rest in sample sizes. Oh rainbow - I love you so. I have a bowling ball that I found in my attic. He has lots of character and I just toss him into open space in my garden. Josh tried to pick him as a small watermelon several times. But this year he wants a makeover. A cheap makeover. I have a bag from my father inlaw of Mike's Hard Lemonade lids. I wanted to cover a post in my garden with them. But now I am kind of falling in love with something along this project line. The chickens are getting some kind of movable coop this year. They can't be let to really free range when the garden is in full swing. They eat my watermelons and I don't want to share. I want to build them a coop that I can move every three weeks to provide them fresh grazing space but keep them out of were they are not invited. I had this super elaborate plan in my head, but this baby would prefer a quick easy A frame coop. Here is one example. This whimsical garden sign is a must. It is one of the first things I ever found on pintrest and I have been jonsing to make it. Plus I feel it is a baby friendly project. You can start and stop it often. If it takes forever that is fine. I may have to make all the signs different color letters because my rainbow side just can't help it. At Christmas I had the kids help me come up with places that meant something to us- Abbey Road - since Josh and I danced at our wedding to "When I'm 64" Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, or Hogsmead Narnia Tri-State Area - from Finn/Ferb Tortuga Island - the pirate island in pirates of Caribbean Emerald City and The Shire Who Ville or Mount Crumpet - from the Grinch Castle Rock - I am a big Stephen King person Island of Misfit Toys - Rudolph Radiator Springs - from Cars Pixie Hallow - Tinkerbell Pride Rock - Lion King Agrabah - Alladin Monstropolis - Monster Inc. I love the thrifty idea of these cans into flowers - but I worry about the kid friendly part of this. Are they sharp? But the colors I could do - purrrrr. Go to pintrest to see links to these images.
