It was our 1st trip to the Bristlecone Pines Forest and we were very very impressed with the history of these trees. These are the oldest living trees in the world, with some being up to 4000 years old. Even a 3200 year old tree that had fallen in 1676 has not even started to decay. What makes the trees so hearty is the wood is very hard, dense, and resinous which makes it resistant to disease & insect penetration.
