The faeries appear in folklore from all over the world as metaphysical beings, who, given the right conditions, are able to interact with the physical world. They’re known by many names but there is a conformity to what they represent, and perhaps also to their origins.

"Apple Blossom Fairy House" was created by hand with pen and ink. The drawing was scanned at 300DPI, digitized, and converted to PDF, JPG and PNG formats, so the picture can be resized, printed out or colored digitally. I recommend printing it out on heavy paper or cardstock for best results. The coloring sheet is available for download upon receipt of payment, and nothing will be mailed to you. The watermark is for viewing purposes only and does not download. Terms of use The coloring pages on my site are for your enjoyment and personal use ONLY. We spent the whole evening driving around for supplies for a little idea that was bumping around in my brain. What I thought would be a very simple, quick, super cute project has now been abandoned. Who knew it would be so hard to find 18" lattice! Ah well, thank the heavens for the sudden appearance of this little door. The door was noticed this very evening at the base of one of my favourite trees on the hill. It's a very old Black Locust tree with wonderfully gnarled bark. Sometimes I have to do a double take when passing it as I'm sure there's a wise old face or two staring back at me!
"The whimsical architecture offers 2 peaked rooves, covered with TWO types of MOSSES, twisty VINE and sided with pretty SYCAMORE BARK. A whimsical CERAMIC MUSHROOM CHIMNEY sprouts from the roof. The larger windows have bumpy TWIG GRIDS while smaller windows are JEWELED. Polished AGATE slice STAIRS with GNARLY VINE RAILING lead up to the darling HAND-PAINTED DOOR which is embellished with SPARKLY JEWELRY and hardware. (coordinating with the home's tiny window decor!) Around the back is a tiny weathered PICKET FENCE section and a beautiful jeweled WINDCHIME hanging by the window. Additional florals, realistic faux MUSHROOMS and BERRIES bring this miniature structure's details to life. THIS HOME IS LIGHTED and looks quite enchanting as the light spills from all of the window openings. A protective coat of polyurethane has been added for protection AND to enhance the bark/twig surfaces." "I did not set out with a particular scale in mind when I designed this, but would guess that it is about 1/24th scale. It measures appx. 13" all around, INCLUDING the round footed base, but not protruding florals. Technically, it is not really a dollhouse since the inside is NOT accessible but it is HOLLOW. Doors and windows do not actually open." "This home would look great in a GARDEN or PORCH, however, I would not expose it to harsh weather and would keep it in a protected area for a longer life. The included low-watt bulb with long cord is not rated for outdoors, but could EASILY be replaced through an access hole." ~ Julie McLaughlin Find Julie McLaughlin on eBay: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/tyjul
Here are some more pictures of our beautiful Fairy Castle. The first picture is of the kitchen, with it's little stove and pots and pans, fossil chair and shell sink, among other wonderful details. Next is a larger view of the tower, kitchen and laundry room. (The laundry room has a little ironing board, iron, a fairy dress, washtub and bos of fairy soap). Detail of tower with mica window. Laundry room. Then, the dining room with tiny dishes made from sea glass and little pods; the floor is made from china shards, mosaic pieces and antique buttons. Then you will see a detail of two of the towers with the driftwood stairs; the little tower room on the right is a hermitage, a little hermit's cottage. More stairs leading up to a tower. Then, the mud room for potting up plants, with a sink, tiny pots for plants made from pods and a little chair for resting. Detail of kitchen and children's play room. A tower up close showing the telescopes. Then, detail of the bedroom with the little baby cradle, chair and dresser. Little canopy bed with lavender pillows and crystal overhead. Another view of the dresser in the bedroom. Next, there are several full views of the Fairy Castle, set near a beautiful pool with stone walls. (The black base of the castle is now covered with lovely green moss). After all the views of the castle by the pool, there are more detailed photos of the kitchen showing the little stove, a woodpile and other objects in the kitchen. Following these pictures are more full views of the Fairy Castle in another setting, showing the various sides. After this, is a close up of the dining room table with mica plates. Then, the next photo is of the painting studio in the art tower that has a sculpture studio, painting studio and art library on the lower floor. (All the paintings in the painter's studio are handpainted). Then, the mud room, bedroom and kitchen again. Lastly, there are wonderful photos of the Fairy Castle in the woods, shown with beautiful leaves and trees surrounding it.
