Lauren Oliver's Panic (Italian Edition Book Cover) - I had been approached by Safarà Editore to create an intriguing and visually appealing cover illustration for Lauren Oliver’s Vanishing Girl Italian edition book.
I believe that to be distinctive, inspiring and innovative, requires that I put every ounce of energy into the projects awarded to our team. I draw upon my experiences as a teacher and a team player to plan better, problem solve smarter and push myself, the talent and crew to deliver the very best performances possible. Success is the cumulative effort of all the little things along the way that make the work great. I am still climbing, scratching and clawing my way towards being my very best. I still approach every opportunity to make images both moving and still with the same passion as my very first assignment. The craft of creating is never lost on me. Today I am the best version of myself - I’ve evolved into a producer, director, writer and photographer, a true visual communicator. I am leveraging all the lessons l learned to make shrewder choices, be more efficient, and amplify my effectiveness to communicate.

Set in the heart of the Kinglor Forest, this is the home of the Resistance. After the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains, Jake Sully allowed certain human settlers to remain on Pandora. When the RDA returned, some of these humans left Hell's Gate to set up an active resistance in the Western Frontier, with Resistance HQ as their new home. It has since been expanded to accommodate new RDA defectors.
The adult kinglor is a moth-like insect native to the Kinglor Forest of the Western Frontier. It has evolved in close symbiosis with the both the forest and its indigenous Na’vi clan, the Aranahe. From eggs, the caterpillar-like kinglor larvae hatch and feed on soft leaves and sapling foliage at ground level to build mass before climbing trees and cocooning themselves in protective silk. After a period of metamorphosis, an adult kinglor emerges. Kinglor live and nest in close community groups around a single fertile queen and are often found flying in swarms. Adult kinglor feed on the pollen of kinglor flowers, an epiphytic flower found exclusively in the Kinglor Forest. Adult kinglor have four patterned wings that that they use to fly in a slow, almost drowsy manner. The backs of their thorax’s are covered in thick, soft fur and their large heads are adorned with feathery antennae. The underside of the kinglor reveals a black, chitinous exoskeleton and a long, venomous stinger which remains concealed unless the kinglor is threatened. Kinglor have been observed attacking larger creatures en masse. The kinglor is emblematic of the Aranahe and intrinsically linked to their culture. The Aranahe’s home is built in a large and ancient Hometree, which they share with the kinglor moth, tending to their nests and cherishing them as messengers of Eywa. Silk is harvested from hatched kinglor cocoons and is woven by the Aranahe, forming much of their distinctive clothing and decorative tapestries.
