This fused glass water landscape art features a sparkly pond set amongst a grove of trees. One of the lovely things about glass art is the way each piece is affected by the dominant source of light. In the seconnd and third photos, the colors appear slightly different, because of the location of the sun when I took the photos. The water area included some dichroic glass, which is very sparkly. I used another kind of sparkly glass for the foliage. I will include the stands you see in some of the photos, making this a simple, yet perfect, display option. You could use a heavy-duty plate hanger if you choose to hang this on one of your walls. This piece is 100% glass, with no paint or decals. In the last photo, you can see how this piece looked sitting on my workbench, prior to fusing. I think fused glass is a bit of a mystery to people, so if you have any questions, please message me.
Green Aspen is a fused glass original painting in a contemporary frame by Christine Kende
A fused glass hanger inspired by the Cornish seaside and coast, handmade in my studio in Cornwall. Approximately 24cm long by 6.5 cm wide with a nichrome hanging hook and rustic twine, this hanger can be hung from a window to allow light to pass through or against a plain wall, the textured glass still allows light to reflect and sparkle. This piece has the impression of agapanthus on a coastal path and it is created with lots for texture. Sea gulls fly overhead and clouds float lazily by. Each piece is created using layers of thin coloured glass with crushed and powdered glass to create detail and texture. It has been fused in a specialist kiln for 13 hours. Each piece is hand cut and created without the use of templates or machinery so no two pieces are identical, they each have their own unique characteristics. The glass you receive may vary slightly in detail from the photographs. It will be carefully wrapped in eco friendly and/or recycled packaging to ensure safe transport when posting.
This fused glass landscape art depicts a tree and water scene. I just love making fused glass trees. The clear stands shown in some of the photos come with the art. If you scroll through the photos you will see that this glass landscape changes somewhat, depending on the dominant source of light. At times the sky is all blue, at times there is a hint of lavender there. Displaying this piece on a shelf or windowsill instead of flat against a wall allows light to enter from behind. Some of the glass has a sparkle which becomes most obvious when lit from the front. This piece is 100% glass, with no paint or decals. I think fused glass is a bit of a mystery to people, so if you have any questions, please message me.
Glass Art Picture with Oak stand of a Rapeseed Oil field, with wild flowers in the foreground and rolling green hills in the background. This piece was inspired by the bright yellow of rapeseed fields against the cool greens of the British Countryside in Summer with the various wild flowers that grow around the edges of these cultivated fields. The glass picture and oak stand measure 16cm long x 17cm tall x 7cm wide. A beautiful piece that glows when sunlight hits the glass.
This piece was inspired by the beautiful Cornish fields that are vibrant every spring with bright yellow daffodils. The glass measures at 15x15cm. This piece is perfect for hanging on your wall. This product is made in my home studio and as a result each piece may have slight differences.
This freestanding fused glass curve depicts an early summer’s day at Southerndown Beach in the Vale of Glamorgan. It is made from a combination of smooth and tactile textured glass to give it a sculptural feel, and comes in glorious aqua and turquoise colours which really glow in the light. No seaside scene would be complete without gulls so I have hand-painted a few to add an element of life. The versatile Southerndown curve can be placed on windowsill so that when the sun shines through the glass, the colours of the scene are thrown onto the surface in front of it, as shown in the photo below. It can also be displayed against a plain pale wall where its colours can be appreciated in their true brightness. Making the curve is a lengthy and fiddly process. I start by cutting and layering sheet glass which is then fused together in my kiln overnight. More glass is added before firing again and once it has cooled, the piece is fired for the final time to get its curved shape. The piece is 16cm wide, 16cm high and 6cm deep. Should it need a clean, it is easily wiped over with warm soapy water. Your curve will posted Signed For and will arrive securely packaged in a double walled box with as much eco-friendly material as possible. Southerndown curve would make a thoughtful and beautiful gift for those who love Wales, the beach, coastal landscapes or just the great outdoors. Read more
