This exhibition of 31 paintings is the artist’s first major retrospective; it includes many new, never before seen works. His subjects hover between traditional figurative painting and portraiture, with subjects often seemingly caught in an interrupted moment, as if the sitter has just realized the artist’s presence.
This portrait is part of my ongoing exploration of moods and emotions. I kept the style of this girl timeless to focus on her expression but there is still an overall vintage vibe. The muted tones and textured yet soft quality of the brushwork convey a feeling of fragility. This is a print of my original painting "Tristesse" which was created in oil on canvas. The original painting has been sold. This print is made to order. "Tristesse", 8"x10", Epson UltraChrome water based HDR giclée print on heavyweight archival luster paper. This is a slightly glossy surface providing a highly saturated look and maximum ink coverage. ***Print is carefully packed, rolled in a sturdy mailing tube for shipping. Please be aware that it may need to be placed under heavy books or other objects for a brief time to flatten out after unpacking.
