Down Town Greeneville
Margarette Falls is one of the most popular waterfall trails in the area, boasting a picturesque fan-shaped, 60-foot drop. You can enjoy the same mountains and streams that Margaret Doak, the namesake of Margarette Falls, explored in the early 1920s. The first half-mile of the trail is an easy hike on a closed Forest Service road. After leaving the road, the trail forks, and you should bear left to travel along Dry Creek for 0.7 miles until you reach the waterfall. The second section of the trail is moderately complex and will require you to cross the stream several times. However, this also provides you with numerous opportunities to cool off in the creek.
