Inksticks are made mainly of soot and animal glue, sometimes with incense or medicinal scents added. Ink wash painting uses tonality and shading achieved by varying the ink density, both by differential grinding of the ink stick in water and by varying the ink load and pressure within a single brushstroke. Ink wash painting artists spend years practicing basic brush strokes to refine their brush movement and ink flow. 4- Chinese watercolor: Traditional Chinese watercolors are mineral and vegetable pigments, premixed with some kind of binder. The main feature of genuine Chinese watercolor painting is its luminosity and transparency and that’s what vegetable and mineral pigments are all about. The purer the pigments, the more subtle their tones and brilliance will be. ♥ The two main techniques in Chinese painting are more academic style called kung-pi (gongbi) and in the spontaneous style hsieh-i (xieyi). - xieyi" (寫意), This style is also referred to as the freehand style. Ink and wash painting, in Chinese shuǐ-mò (水墨, "water and ink") also loosely termed watercolor or brush painting, and also known as "literati painting", as it was one of the "Four Arts" of the Chinese Scholar-official class. It uses tonality and shading achieved by varying the ink density, both by differential grinding of the ink stick in water and by varying the ink load and pressure within a single brushstroke. In the hand of a master, a single stroke can produce astonishing variations in tonality, from deep black to silvery gray. Thus, in its original context, shading means more than just dark-light arrangement: It is the basis for the beautiful nuance in tonality found in East Asian ink wash painting and brush-and-ink calligraphy. - Gongbi (工筆): meaning "meticulous" painting, uses highly detailed brushstrokes that delimit details very precisely and without independent or expressive variation. It is often highly colored and usually depicts figural or narrative subjects. Gongbi requires drawing with fine lines first to represent the exaggerated likenesses of the objects, and then adds washes of ink and color layer by layer, so as to approach the perfection of exquisiteness and fine art. The practice of Gongbi is specifically on rice paper when sketching out the design and layout of the drawing. When using brushes to paint gongbi, there are specific types for contouring and coloring. There are four types of brushes for contouring. It is often practiced by artists working for the royal court. The gongbi style had its beginnings approximately 2000 years ago during the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). You can customize the mounting sizes via Etsy conversation. 2- MOUNTED ON HANGING SCROLL: The painting comes with a traditional Chinese art silk scroll (ready to adorn any room you wish) Mounting as a hanging scroll shows you a traditional graceful appearance. Hanging scrolls are typically used for vertical compositions. They are hung for display using a cord, which is attached to a thin wooden strip along the top of the silk mounting. There is a wooden rod at the bottom which provides the necessary weight for the painting to hang smoothly. It is also useful when the painting is rolled up to store. Horizontal Chinese paintings can also be made to be directly hung. There are two wooden rods and ribbons on both sides, which can be hung directly on two invisible Wall Mount frame nails. If it is used for direct hanging, it is best to choose to print on silk. Printing on silk is more durable than printing on rice paper. 3- MOUNTED ON HANDSCROLL: Handscrolls are designed to be unrolled, from right to left, revealing one scene at a time. As each new section is unrolled, the previous scene is rolled up, giving the viewer the feeling of a journey through the landscape. Paintings in China are not usually hung on walls, permanently on display. They are often mounted as handscrolls, rolled up, and only brought out for special viewings. This is partly due to the delicate nature of the ink and color, which would fade if left exposed to light for a long time. The unrolling of a scroll is an act of some ceremony. Connoisseurs do not view the painting from a distance, as in the West, but approach close to "read the painting." I treat every piece of artwork seriously. I hope it will be a timeless conversational masterpiece in your life journey! Thank you for stopping by and reading through this! Enjoy your artistic life! Lee ^^

Maxfield Parrish, The Lantern Bearers, about 1908, art deco era srt, 8x10" canvas art print. Fantasy art. antique art prints Colors will vary due to your monitor settings Free ship US You frame it! NOTE: Our watermark will not appear on your print NOTE: Our prints are taken from an antique/vintage paintings, greeting cards, post cards etc.. Much of the time, these were originally printed on a soft and porous paper, which softened the images. They didn't have the technology back then to photo-shop and fix these images. That is why I chose to reproduce only antique art in it's original content (no photo-shop). I love the old school art. These are also paintings and drawings, and so the styles vary. The papers we use today, have special coatings so that they attract the inks or dyes well, and stop much of the seeping of the inks. Our new technologies print exactly what is on the scan of the original image. If you purchase canvas, it is made of cotton, and even though it also has this special coating, it is textured, and softens the look of the final result. It is archival, and of the highest quality, but is best for paintings since they were mostly created on artist canvas. It is important to note that if you are buying on your phone or tablet, the images you see are only tiny thumbnails, and so you can't really see the detail in the scan on the listing. If you can look on a computer, you can then see the depth and detail of the image you want. Artwork is not created equal, and sometimes there are clear and distinct lines, and other times the style is less detailed. Lastly, Colors will vary slightly, due to the difference in your monitor settings. Please zoom in on the image to see the detail. This art print was taken from a vintage painting, print, postcard or digital source. It is in the public domain in the US because the copyrights (if any) have expired. All quoted shipping costs are USA only. If you are looking for an art print with lots of detail, you must chose one that shows it. Please zoom in on the listing to see the detail. These are prints, taken from original paintings and prints. All art is not created equal. The piece you choose will reflect the work of the artist. We are printers, and our sophisticated equipment enlarges each scan, pixel x pixel. We do not skew or stretch the art to fit the frame. We do not photoshop. The print you receive is the one shown on the listing, only larger. Cotton canvas is textured in little squares, and shows in the print. I have had complaints about this, as some buyers think the art is pixelated. This is not the case. If you do not want the soft look of canvas, please choose a satin canvas or poster paper. Please DO ask questions before you buy. Our prints are designed to fit into a standard frame, and do not come mounted on board. This art print was taken from a vintage painting, print, postcard or digital source. Your print will be an exact copy. Please see the scan in the listing, and zoom in. It is in the public domain in the US because the copyrights (if any) have expired. Cotton Canvas~ 11 x 14”= 18.99 shipped Cotton Canvas~ 8 x 10”= 14.49 shipped All quoted shipping costs are USA only. I will ship to your country, via first class intl. USPS, but please contact me for a quote before you buy. All art prints are custom designed to fit into a standard, modern frame. The openings on these frames are smaller than the listed size. Your print will be slightly larger than the opening. You can carefully trim it to fit your frame, and pop it in, with or without a mat. Each print is made as it is ordered. Please convo me if you need a specific size. We use real cotton artist's canvas, and the newest technology to enlarge the images pixel x pixel. There is no stretching or skewing, Cotton canvas is textured in tiny squares, and produces a soft finish like a painting. Since it is fabric, it grabs the color for an extraordinary presentation. I use archival canvas, and special dyes to print each image. They will last 100 years under normal circumstances. Your monitor settings will vary from mine, so colors may look different to you than they really are. Color match technology produces exact colors to the image file used. Satin canvas is also textured, but it not as dense. It has a semi-gloss light and moisture proof finish. It is great for posters, too. NO stretching or mounting is needed. No need for expensive, custom framing. I use special, secure packing materials, to insure that your item arrives safely. I don't have any control over postal delivery, but will do my best to help track your package. Please do not leave unfavorable feedback due to postal errors. I have been collecting and selling art prints for many years. I may have just what you are searching for. Just ask, and I will create a special listing, just for you. Thank you for your interest. In many of my new art pieces I create a drawing of some thing I have an interest in or I am thinking about, or take a personal photograph of some place I like to be or have been. When they are at the point I am happy with them then I connect with a AI program I like that can take my information, review it and add suggestions on the two ideas can then create a new art design. In other AI art we just communicate between us an idea to create the art. Other sizes on my gallery

Enochian PELE ring attunement: Improve your connection and communication with the Enochian Angels as well as other Spirits and Angels. PELE' "THE ONE WHO WORKS WONDERS" . Channel the energy of this renowned Magick ring of power, boost your to workings with Enochian Angels and Other Spirits. Enochian Magick is a system of Ceremonial Magick based on the 16th-century writings of John Dee and Edward Kelly [Dee's scryer]. Dr. John Dee, a towering figure who, along with being one of the most influential political advisors to (and spy for) Queen Elizabeth I, developed this complex magical system in 16th century England. Enochian Magick involves the evocation and commanding of various spirits. As specified by the archangel Michael, as directed to John Dee, the ring gives divine authority, the power to command the angels. Over a series of encounters, a whole language was communicated to Dee and Kelley. This was said to be the language of God and the angels, the language which Adam originally spoke in and which he used to name all the plants and animals in the Garden of Eden. Knowledge of this language, it was said, could give one power and understanding like a God. The language Dee and Kelley wrote down has become known as Enochian (in the Bible, Enoch is Adam’s great great great great great grandson, he is said to have walked with God, to have lived for 365 years, he may have entered Heaven while still alive and is believed to have been the last person to speak the original divine language before Dee and Kelley wrote it down in the 1580s). Please note this attunement does NOT come with the ring.

This is an example of the hair symbolism that we find in many of Munch’s motifs. The man is dressed in black, the colour of sorrow and despair. He is clutching his heart with a bleeding hand.. In front of him a plant or flower is growing; its shape and colour look as if it could be his own bleeding heart. The colour red symbolises love, pain and blood. The red heart-shaped plant reflects Munch’s ideas that all art draws nourishment from the life-blood of the artist. The flowing shoreline, a feature of many of Munch’s love motifs, is based on Aasgaardsstrand. The Separation is decoratively and aesthetically refined. The motif is split into two independent surfaces, separated by flowing lines with subtle variations, inspired by contemporary Art Nouveau or Jugend style. The painting has a rich and varied texture, and surfaces which are both lustrous and matt. One eye-catching detail is the use of gold paint in the woman’s hair and the landscape. There is no corresponding use of this colour in any of Munch’s other paintings, but gold does fit in with the tendency towards the decorative and exclusive in the art of that period.

This scene depicts an East Coast fishing village as seen by looking across a neighboring yard. It is a fictionalized place made from memories of driving long the coast in Nova Scotia. I painted this piece large scale (30” x 60”) using a flattened perspective that runs vertically in the composition like in Japanese prints. I was working with a folk-like sense of colour, primary in it’s use. These elements of style came together as an arrangement of forms based on scale and on resolution; larger forms are at the bottom of the composition and details ease into the distance with softer edges. There’s more than one way to use perspective! This is a canvas reproduction print in a limited edition of 200, signed and numbered. This 24"(H) x 12"(W) canvas is clear-coated with UV protective coating. Sometimes referred to as Giclee printing, this canvas print is generated from high resolution digital photography and printed with archival quality inks onto canvas. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. The finished print is mounted on a wooden stretcher frame with taped edges, rubber wall protectors, ready to hang wire attached and signed certificate of authenticity included. Although these mounted canvas prints do not require further framing, you have the option to frame your canvas if you choose.

It's handmade Chinese art paper. soft and fine-textured, suitable for conveying the artistic expression of both Chinese calligraphy and painting. Xuan paper features great tensile strength, smooth surface, pure and clean texture, and clean stroke, great resistance to the crease, corrosion, moth, and mold. The production of Xuan paper can be loosely described as an 18-step process, and a detailed account would involve over a hundred. Some papermakers have invented steps that have been kept secret from others.) 2- Chinese Bamboo Brushes for painting and handwriting. Bamboo brush bristles are generally made from animal hair, such as white goat hair, black rabbit hair, yellow weasel hair, or a combination of the three. Bamboo brushes come in many different brush-tip sizes and set combinations, from the finest-tipped tool to a thick round-pointed brush. 3- Chinese ink and wash: Inksticks (Chinese: 墨 About this soundMò; or ink cakes are a type of solid ink Chinese ink used traditionally in several East Asian cultures for calligraphy and brush painting. These paintings peaked out between the Tang and Song dynasties (7th to 13th centuries) 🤍Mounted on silk - STYLES🤍 Delicate silk mounting is an intangible cultural heritage in China. It is done by skilled craftsmen. The mounting process of Chinese calligraphy and painting originated from 100 to 200 years after the invention of papermaking in my country and has a history of more than 1700 years. ❤️We choose the silk brocade with elegant and light colors which will easily match the tone of the painting as default. If you are strict with color please contact me for silk border color options. Normally it will take 3~5 days to finish mounting on silk brocade from our professional mounters depending on the weather. Email: ohleechees [!at] gmail.com 1- MOUNTED ON SILK BROCADE: The painting comes with silk brocade and back support paper (ready to place in any frame with a transparent cover) After mounting on a silk brocade, the total size of the painting will be larger. Lee ^^

This original painting, “Tree of Souls” was painted in historic Seneca Falls - a fitting place to highlight the comraderie, respect, and love women share with each other… when we truly see each other and lift one another up, everyone achieves and benefits. The original painting is 18x24. Prints are available on Giclee in 9x12… if you’re interested in another size, please reach out. Thanks for looking! ✌🏽❤️🌏
This is a print of my original painting "Awaiting the Tryst" which was created in oil on canvas. The original painting has been sold. There is a slight luster to the surface of the print which resembles the sheen of an oil painting. This print is made to order. In this painting a pale woman gracefully lounges in an elegant gown of peacock blue upon a green and gilt sofa in a deep turquoise room. She glows within the luxurious jewel tones of her surroundings. I was interested in creating a story and evoking the atmosphere of times past. She is a dramatic, romantic figure, lost in reverie...perhaps an aristocratic lady awaiting her lover. I expressed this mood with soft edges and appropriately painterly and loose strokes. "Awaiting the Tryst", 10"x8", Epson UltraChrome water based HDR giclée print on heavyweight archival luster paper. This is a slightly glossy surface providing a highly saturated look and maximum ink coverage. Standard size, easily framed. ***Every effort has been made to accurately depict colors in art but please keep in mind that monitors vary in their display. Print is carefully packed, rolled in a sturdy mailing tube for shipping. Please be aware that it may need to be placed under heavy books or other objects for a brief time to flatten out after unpacking. ***Please note international buyers should be aware of extra taxes and fees their country may charge at customs. This scene takes a fictional view of all things East coast and rolls them into one image suggesting many places along the coast. My composition method is to gather photos of the subject matter and draw a composite image from multiple sources. In this case, I had drawn the laundry and was testing out various backgrounds when I decided upon this variation that I call "Windswept." It's handmade Chinese art paper. soft and fine-textured, suitable for conveying the artistic expression of both Chinese calligraphy and painting. Lee ^^

A rare masterpiece from Bjørn Wiinblad made as an advertisement for 20th anniversary of The Dallas Theater Center. The poster display a jester along with many scenes from different shows taken place in the theater - one of them looks like "Romeo & Juliet". The craft of Wiinblad is often colorful, lush and full of humor. He was inspired by the sumptuous oriental style far from the Nordic stylish line. The views on his works are to this day very divided, but interest in his finer things are unrelenting - especially abroad (particularly the U.S., Japan, Germany and Norway). Bjørn Wiinblad's contemporaries were not exactly inclined to acknowledge his way to work, so his position as an artist has been a bit special. Globally, Bjørn Wiinblad is one of the very best selling Danish artists. He is (among other museums) represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. ------------------------------------------------------ Artist: Bjørn Wiinblad (signed and dated in print) Print: Offset lithography (Print Permild & Rosengren) Dimensions: 24.5 x 34 in (70 x 99 cm) Condition: Great condition - only very light signs of handling and two tiny tears on the edges - please see picture Country: Denmark Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions.

Look up. Never stop looking up..... how about a piece of a beautiful summer's day blue sky in your living room? Original Lori Daniels Sea and sky inspired wood block mixed media collage. Color mixing and pattern placement are my specialties, it's what I am known for, in these one-of-a-kind originals. If you crave color like you crave certain foods, I am your artist. The older I get the more I realize how important color is in the home or office to lift spirits. My color palette as you can see with the art I have listed here in my shop, is based on the American Southwest. Clients that have purchased my art are always shocked to find out I live on a farm in the Midwest. In fact, I was born north a few miles of Georgia O' Keeffe's birthplace, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. I have been to Santa Fe once, but that is all it took to grip and hold my imagination. The beautiful creation featured, is the one you receive. It is the one on the left. The 6-inch-wide collage on the right is 799.59. If interested in both please contact me. If a larger grouping is needed, I have additional totems. and larger collages. I have placed countless grouping in homes and offices across the U.S. and Europe. I can also walk you through the installation. *******Extra Shipping for Long, Heavy Bulky Creation******** PRICE LISTED IS FOR LONG TOTEM TO THE RIGHT. NOTE: I'd love to explain my process. I use really old original vintage photos and my goal is to make whimsical creatures look as real as possible. If the original photo is weathered, textured, discolored, even a bit blurry, I keep those interesting features because it adds uniqueness to the finished work : ) A quiet place to create and reflect and be at peace. This print would be wonderful in a study, bedroom, studio or any room where peace is present. Multiple images are artistically fused together seamlessly to create a new life form! All my work is created in my little rural home studio in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. ---------------------DETAILS----------------------- * This listing is for an unmatted, unframed print. (frame is not included) * Print choices: 5x7, 8x10, 11x14. See the last picture above for the 5x7 crop. * All prints are borderless and ready to pop into a frame.. no trimming : ) * Printed on beautiful Lustre semi-gloss paper for superior quality and longevity. NOTE: Scratches, marks, stains, and blurriness of the original vintage print are preserved to add to the realism of the art piece. It's what makes these prints special! * Each print will last a lifetime if treated with love. * My digital signature appears on the front of the prints. ----------------------SHIPPING----------------------- * I only ship domestically within the USA via the USPS. * I do not ship internationally. * Securely packaged with in a rigid mailer to ensure your print arrives safely.
