Create this timeless and elegant quilt ‘Plain Sailing’ with this pattern from Janet Clare. This beautiful quilt uses a careful placement and orientation of fabrics to create a wonderful geometric quilt. Janet’s quilt is made using a limited four colour palette of fabric from her ‘Ebb and Flow’ fabric collection for Moda, but the little colour swatches in the requirements on the back of the pattern, mean you can easily choose your own and re-create Janet's designs The full colour pattern includes instructions to guide you through cutting and piecing the top, quilt construction, layering and binding. The finished quilt measures 84 x 84 inches. Full requirements for piecing the front, back and binding : For the front: o 3 1/2 yards of cream fabric (1357-17) o 2 1/2 yards of indigo fabric (1357-11) o 2 1/2 yards of mid blue fabric (1483-21) o 2 1/2 yards of dark blue fabric (1484-20) For binding: o 2/3 yd indigo fabric (1357-70) For backing: o 7 2/3yds fabric (two horizontal seams) (1487-11) Wadding o 92" x 92" Having some patchwork experience will make this project easier, but the techniques are simple to learn, making it fun and suitable for all experience levels This quilt was originally made using fabric from Janet's 'Ebb & Flow' collection from 2019. Unfortunately, we are sold out of this collection, and they may be hard to source. You can easily substitute other fabrics and many of Janet's collections, such as the 2022 collection 'To The Sea' will work very well. Simply follow the fabric swatches shown on the back of the pattern and choose similar shades and tones.
