An Eastern Airlines L-1011 (photo of an image at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum) . Please View On Black Just before Walt Disney World opened, Eastern Airlines established service at Orlando and became the official airline of Walt Disney World from 1971 through 1987. Eastern sponsored "If You Had Wings", an attraction in the Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland which showcased the adventures of flight along with some of Eastern's tourist destinations, including Mexico City, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and New Orleans. The 4 and 1/2 minute dark ride was based on Disney's Omnimover ride system. It was structurally similar to the Disneyland attraction Adventure Thru Inner Space, which were both designed by Claude Coats. The ride had a memorable theme song with music by Buddy Baker and lyrics by X Atencio. You do have wings. You can do all these things. You can widen your world. Eastern. We'll be your wings.
