Begun in 1984, Little Woodham is a fascinating re-creation of how an English village could have looked in 1642. The village, beautifully situated in an ancient oakwood, consists of more than a dozen structures ranging from a fisherman's shelter to an Ale House, Blacksmith's forge and an Apothecaries shop. On open days it is staffed by volunteers in period costume who can be seen tending the herbs and vegetables in the cottage gardens and practising a wide variety of period crafts. Around 1500 school children visit the site each year.

Simple Timeline of Human History: This simple timeline of human history was produced to coincide with my Primary School Prehistory (Stone Age to Iron Age) school workshop. This timeline briefly charts 300,000 years of human history. We start in Prehistory, including the age(s) of stone (there were at least three, depending on where in the world you are) and continue through the Bronze Age and Iron Age in to... History (when people started writing things down) with the Romans, Saxons & Vikings and so on... The timeline has a UK focus and contains a selection of key notes and dates along the way, plus visual summary of the proportion of human history for which, we have relied on stone tool technology (hint: more than 99%)! This timeline is based on an image which is 5174 x 7306 pixels and a density of 96dpi. It is printed on high quality A3 Canon matte photo paper (170 GSM).

"Josephine Baker was a cabaret star who kept a pet cheetah and aided both the French Resistance in WWII and the American civil rights movement of the 1950s and ’60s. In the 1930s, fancy European society was simultaneously creepily fascinated by and hostile towards women of colour – but Baker was always unapologetically herself. Still a major style icon, her shows had cabaret and topless dance numbers alongside slapstick comedy and silly faces and so totally challenged the notion that female sexuality could be defined or controlled, and most importantly showed that above all else it should be FUN for women."Oh, and there's an amazing anecdote about her: Her maid comes into her boudoir and says, 'Miss Baker, there are 12 men here to see you.' Josephine responds, 'Oh, I'm so tired today. Send one away.'"Submitted by Susan Clare and Vanessa Heine via FacebookNote: Submissions have been edited for length and/or clarity.
