Matthew Simmonds, a highly acclaimed English sculptor, carves beautiful sculptures of monumental historical buildings from marble and stone. His work is mainly inspired by ancient Greek and Roman monuments and architecture. Buildings are created to minimize the effects of nature in our lives, but Matthew's sculptures reverse this process: the elements of architecture are perfectly balanced with nature, carved from raw stone or marble pieces.
I love this marble bust, I don't know anything about the artist or subject though.View On Black

About This monumental abstract sculpture named “Cycles” is created and curved by Lutfi Romhein. Its polished surface provides a perfectly smooth and soft touch. Through its numerous lines, this artwork in quality veined statuary marble evokes a dynamic circular movement filled with energy. From the central point, a whole vibration and force flourishes towards the outside of the work... The sculpture rotates on its central axis. A graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrare, in Italy, Lutfi Romhein is a sculptor of Syrian origin, living in France since the mid-2000s. Lutfi Romhein likes to explore a diversity of styles, but also of materials : marble, fine woods, stainless steel, slate, plexiglas… He is particularly renowned in Syria, the Middle East and in Italy.
