Hello friends! Today, It's Mary with you and I would like to show you my new layout with a step by step Video Tutorial. I created a layout with lots of Finnabair mixed media products and 7 Dots Studio papers. I've used the Snicker paper of the Homegrown collection and torn pieces from the ''Wool'' paper. As a base on my background I applied Finnabair clear gesso and then I made some stenciling work with the Iris Tapestry stencil and an icing paste in Old Silver. Then, I made a little stamping and added color with Lindy's sprays. I primed moulds with black gesso and sprayed them with Lindy's sprays. When they dried, I gently applied Brushed Iron wax. After I glued everything down and made my composition I added art ingredients with soft matte gel. You can watch the whole process in my video! Thank you for stopping by! Have a nice day! Bonjour à toutes, Je suis super heureuse de vous annoncer que je suis 'invité d'honneur de Scrap Africa en ce beau mois de juin. Un grand merci à Denise van Deventer pour cette invitation ! Hello Sweeties, I'm excited to share that I'm a Guest Designer at Scrap Africa! A huge thank you to Denise van Deventer for inviting me :) J'ai suivi le sketch proposé ce mois-ci : I got to play along with the new sketch : J'ai commencé par travailler mon fond avec un pochoir et de la pâte à craqueler. Une fois sèche, je l'ai très légérement coloré avec un Twinkling H2O Smoked Diamond : le pochoir a été choisi pour rappeler les mâts des bateaux. I applied to my background some crackle paste with a stencil. When dry, I colored it lightly with the Smoked Diamond Twinkling: I choose the stencil that reminds me the boats's masts. J'ai ajouté sur la gaze des microbilles que j'ai « collé » avec un mélange Primary Element - Gel medium, mais comme la couleur n'était pas visible j'ai rajouté de la couleur avec des Twinklings. I glued the microbeads on the cheese cloth with a mix or gel medium - Primary Element, but the color wasn't visible so I added some color with Twinklings. L'ancre ainsi que la plaque ont été altérées avec la technique du faux fer forgé que vous trouverez ici. The anchor and the bookplate have been altered with the false wrought iron that you can find here. J'ai délicatement coloré les fleurs et le feuillage avec des Twinklings. De même que les chipboards après les avoir recouvet de gesso épais. I've lightly colored the flowers and the greenery with the Twinkling too. As the chipboards, after I covered them with heavy gesso. Matériels / Materials: Mixed Media Place : Papiers / Papers - 7 Dots Studio (Cold Country - Forgotten, 6x6 pad) ; Fleurs / Flowers - Prima (Silver Roses) ; Twinkling H2O - Luminarte (Mulberry, Wild Plum, Forest Green, Smokey Diamond, Grey Hunter) ; Pochoir / Stencil - Prima (Bamboo) ; Matrice de coupe / Die - Sizzix (Tag & Bookplate) ; Crackle Paste ; Gesso (Black). Autre : Microperle / Microbeads ; Matrices de coupe / Dies: Memory Box (Lavish Branch) ; Sizzix (Sprung Greenery) ; Chipboard : Dusty Attic (Seashells) ; Scrapmatts (Anchor) ; Gaze / Cheese cloth.

Winter is connected to white colour (at least in Northern Hemisphere) - so our February moodboard. Who doesn't love warm fireplace in the middle of the winter or hot tea in a beautiful mug. We all look for cozy place, where we could feel safe and comforted. Feel free to be inspired by theme, shape, pattern, color, quote or anything you will find above, and join our challenge :) Inspiration from our Design Team: My project for this month challenge is a kind of make-over. I have had a frame with family photos in my living room, but recently I have decided, that it needs an upgrade, because the photos are not up-to-date. So I printed new photos and start working on a frame. The base is a wooden tray from 7gypsies, that I have bought some time ago. It is quite large, so I have had plenty of room for using all yummy Finnabair embellishments and media. Papers, that are at the background, comes from Homegrown collection (7 Dots Studio) but I have covered them with so many media, that they are hard to be recognized :D There are layers of 3D Matte Gel with many Glass Beads, MicroBeads, Mica Flakes, Glass Glitter, Mechanicals and even resin elements. You will find the list of supplies at the bottom of this post. I have some white flowers, so I coloured them using Prima Watercolors. Most of elements are covered with Silver ArtAlchemy Acrylic Paints with Gold Wax put on top of everything. It took a while, before this frame was ready (all the layers had to dry), but the effort was worth the time - the frame decorates my wall in living room again :) This time with current photos of my sweet kids :) Mixed Media Place supplies: Hi Lovelies! Well… who wouldn’t love this moodboard? Isn’t it gorgeous! I felt very inspired by the pops of red against white and the natural wintery feel it has, so the heavily influenced my mixed media piece. I found for something like this it can be scary when applying dark colours underneath, I seriously had a moment!! You feel like the piece is a goner. Destined for the bin... But always remember… there isn’t much that gesso can’t cover!! Something else that also helps to provide a great wintery feel is Snowflake Paste, but also Platinum Crackle. I love both for projects like these and couldn’t be without either. Anyway… Instead of going into hug amounts of detail, I have video to share of my creative process, but for now here are some close ups. Here is video tutorial: Mixed Media Place supplies: Hello! For my last project on the Mixed Media Place Creative Team, I wanted to use inspiration from the moodboard to create a farewell piece! I am sad to go, but ever so excited to be inspired by the new team! I created a keepsake box! I received this little box in the mail with a bracelet I had ordered, I kind of liked it, but knew I could alter it a bit to make it exactly what I wanted. Perfect for a challenge! Mixed Media Place supplies: I created a canvas with a photo of my parents. Here they got married not so long ago. Mixed Media Place supplies: This minimalistic and clean moodboard inspired me to create a white and bright layout with red and pink details, like on my photo. I loved the feathers in the moodboard, so i decided to use some and the wood details reminded me of Writer's Block paper collection from 7 Dots Studio, which i also used. Some metallic elements are in use again and Finnabair Prima stamps matching the berrys on the moodboard. Mixed Media Place supplies: I decided to interpret the challenge in a form of an art journal. Here is my creation. Remember to take a look at the bottom of my part of this post - I have a video tutorial for you. I love playing with the Ecolines and their beautiful pencils now. At first I used tape for texture. I am having fun with the stencils of Finnabair and Art Extravangance Pastes. Later I used the 7 Dots Studio papers and their tag as a background for my photo. Some stamping to add details and again texture. Mixed Media Place supplies: * * * * * Join our new challenge! We love to see your beautiful creations! You have time to play with us until March 19th. Simply add a link to your work using the inlinkz tool below. Our Design Team will choose their favorite piece and its author will win a discount coupon to be used in our Mixed Media Place Store. Winner and features will be announced by the end of March. And our winner will be also invited to be our Guest Designer for April!! Have a great day! An InLinkz Link-up
Hello! Georgie here with you today and I’m sharing a mixed media layout. Using the very gorgeous Homegrown collection from 7 Dots Studio, I combined two papers from the 12x12 sheets to give contrasting patterns. Then laid down a coat of clear gesso to give the paints (Art Alchemy and Izinks) a base to stick to. Some random messy stamping followed by stencilling some contrasting black tones. This was made by mixing at the Art Basics 3D Gel with the Art Basics Black Gesso. Prima flowers - Purity - dabbed with Izinks in Tomato, Caviar, Jasmine, Mango and Citronella. Tags from the Homegrown collection used as a base for the photo, I added eyelets to them too as I love getting in different textures. Splashes of reds and black were added, plus some Glitter Glass in Gold Rush. Red Glass Beads and some additional embellishments, like some Mechanicals, sequins etc just to finish up. I love how layouts give you the chance to just get down and messy and arty, without any constraints. You can do what you like, tell your own story on the page with the help of a photo. Hope you have like my post today! Hugs Georgie
Hello friends! Today, Mary is with you and I have prepared a step-by-step video tutorial for you. I created a layout with lots of Fin...
Have you ever wondered what Izinks are all about? They are a very clever little supply! ;) Today, we have Tusia explaining how they work, sharing some beutiful examples of her artworks & a video tutorial. But that's not all - we also have a Discount Week for you at Mixed Media Place store (September 9-16)! Read more about it below but first, let Tusia inspire you to splash some inks. :) Izinks are pigment inks that are watersoluble but permanent after drying. When wet - they are similar to watercolors. When dry - they are permanent like acrylic paints. Each bottle has a dropper. Below you can see a background created with Izinks. As you can see, the blue color is transparent. I used water to dilute the Izink ink so it could be transparent. You can create a watercolor effect if you spray some water on top of wet Izinks. The colors will mix as if they were watercolors, but when everything dries, the colors will be permanent. Below you can see that if you do not dilute Izinks with water and leave them as they are, it will create a totally opaque effect or a transparent one. I created a video for you - I wanted to show you Izinks in action. :) I created this art journal page: And here is the video: Thank you for watching :) Tusia Wouldn't you like to try out these amazing inks? This week you have a chance to grab a 10% discount on all Izinks in our Mixed Media Place store! Starting today (September 9th) 'till September 16th you can get all your favorite colors of Izinks and see for yourselves the magic that they do. ;) All you have to do is to use this code at the checkout: GzK5mmP7 And here are just some (!) of the delicious colors of Izinks we have available at our store: We also think that white, silver & gold are an absolute must! :) Happy creating, everyone!

Hello Dear creative souls Today I would like to show you a page I created especially for Mixed Media place. What is unusual, this time I played with colors, which is uncommon for me. But as usual, I have a little video for you - please look at the bottom of this blog post. I began with creating some texture using paper tape. I used stamping to add some interest here and there. Products from ArtExtravagance line helped me to enhance the texture. I have used a few LSG sprays to add some colors. As always, I have used gesso mixed with water to create some white splatters. Here is my video - I hope you will enjoy it. Mixed Media Place supplies:
Hello everyone Today I have had fun creating a layout using beautiful 7 Dots Studio papers and wonderful Finnabair Impasto Paints. At the bottom of this post you will find a video tutorial. Here are some detailed photos: Below you will find a video tutorial: Mixed Media Place supplies:
Beauty in all its glory. Pascale's layout is one in kind, mix of her rich and unique style with stunning photograph. Check this out! Hello Sweeties Today I'm up on Mixed media Place blog with a new layout with a photo of the Saxophone fontain of Frank Cazenave in Avoine (Indre-et-Loire - France) I began to add to the background a design with a stencil and two textures pastes: a white and gold. While the design was drying, I colored the leaves with some green Twinkling H2O and the Rust Mica Powder. I used a Primary Element that I put in spray with water to color the roses. When the crackle pastes were dry, I sprinkle the background with Teal Mica Powder, then I sprayed some water and dried. I started again with Honey Amber and Emperor's Gold Primary Elements. To finish, I added some splatters of black ink, but mostly some Art Ingredients such as Splash Micro Beads, Gold Glass Glitter and Charcoal Art Sugar. Products from Mixed Media Place:
Hello Mixed Media Friends! This is always such an exciting moment to meet you for our new Creative Gym Exercise! :) When you hear: pencils, pens, crayons -what do they make you feel? Excitement or anxiety? Have you always wanted to draw but somehow never found the courage? Or maybe you're one of those people who are always seen doodling on a piece of paper? ;) If so, our next Creative Exercise is just perfect for you! This month it's Athanasia who suggested a really inspiring theme and a very simple one :) DRAWING ! Whether you're already addicted to drawing or a complete beginner - join us this month! Don't feel obliged or pressured to create a masterpiece, your sketches or simple exercises are most welcome, too! Simply feel the joy of holding a crayon in your hand. :) I love drawing on my projects! I do it every time I make a layout or a canvas and that's how I got the idea to make a challenge with this theme. In this project I wanted to show you some ideas how to draw on your pages in a very easy way. I wanted to make sure that my focus is on the drawing work, I decided to use only my permanent black pen, some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, 'Blue Grass' from Primary Elements, Copper Mica Powder with the Light Paste, two stamps, some wire and chipboard letters for the tittle. So, no embellishments at all and I like it! First I did some doodling on the photo and wrote some words on my blouse. I also made a few simple lines on the paper to expand the photo. Then I started stamping with the Peeled Paint stamp on top and over my head (because this is where my thoughts are coming from : To create my flowers, firstly I made some splashes with the sprays and then I drew the lines with the permanent pen abstractedly, without much thinking. The stalks of the flowers are drawn with the plastic hose of the sprays - that's pretty easy and fun thing to do! Finally I made some doodling with the same pen, not complex things, just some sloppy circles. I hope I have encouraged you to do some drawing :) Materials from Mixed Media Place: The Drawing theme is very close to my heart. I just love drawing and in this project I decided to draw my own fragile soul. You may not believe it but it's a piece that I've been searching for for 10 years to hang up in my liviing room. My base is a canvas coated with a thin layer of White Gesso. I left it to dry and then let my imagination guide me. I drew the face with a pencil and then used a thin black pen. In between my hair I hand-written some of my qualities. I added some machine stitching and my crinkly hairdo was ready. :) Some part of the face and the hair were painted with a paintbrush and... instant coffee. It's all quite simple really - canvas, gesso, a pen, some thread and coffee. Sometimes you don't need much more to create a project you have in your heart. Materials from Mixed Media Place: I don’t consider myself a drawer but more of a doodler. So I started to think what could make a person to grab a pencil more eagerly. Because the biggest thing is the fear of starting... Usually when you just start to draw and doodle it gets easier and easier by the minute. Even in school our art teacher said to us that the first two-three sketches are just a warm up, but after that it gets easier and the hand starts to do what you want it to do and trace to the paper. So my advice for the fear of drawing is just to draw. Start little by little and before you know it, you might even enjoy it!:) But as for my project, I thought about an aid to draw. There are many stencils available even with very detailed patterns. So I grabbed the Bubble Stencil (oh so versatile and my favorite) and drew some circles around an art journal page. Then I doodled some flowers inside the bubbles with a PITT pen and colored them using watercolor pencils. Lastly I colored the gaps between the flower bubbles black. Ready in no time and lots of great pen practice! Materials from Mixed Meda Place: I also thought about another trick to ease the drawing process. For this little card I stamped a few elements on white cardstock, cut them loose and colored and assembled a little cottage out of the pieces. Then I drew the landscape and highlighted the cottage too. Materials from Mixed Media Place: When I was a child, I loved drawing. But I was too busy at school and stopped drawing long, long time ago. Last year I decided to start drawing again :) And I started practicing. Now I do it when I want to relax :) Materials from Mixed Media Place: I love faces ! I struggle to draw a complete face, but I love to draw eyes….they are my favourite thing. Art journal pages are the perfect place to practice and play with improving your drawing skills…draw away to your hearts content. If it looks really bad and you are not happy with it, just collage, paint or stamp over the bits you don’t like, and just keep having fun experimenting with different media. Here is an art journal page where I have just focussed on drawing eyes. I always start with guessing my pages. I knew I wanted the eyes to have really big eye lashes…like feathers, so 1. I drew in the shape of the eye and where the darkest areas would be. Use pictures or eyes, mouths, noses, anything really from magazines and just copy them. Next, 2. I painted some colour around the eye area, and using a fine tip waterproof marker and drew in darker outlines. Next 3. using black ink or black acrylic paint fill in the solid ares that are darkest. 4. Using a white ink pen, draw in white eye lashes over the areas just painted black. By using a white pen over the top of or around the edges of black ares can soften as well as give depth to your drawing. 5. using a fine point black pen add more sketchy, feathery eye lashes. 6. Finished eyes staring out from the page. Use water colour pencils to add face details. Some stamping around the edges and a collaged, tissue bird. A little doodling. Water colour pencils are fabulous to use to practice drawing with……they give you control over the areas you want to have in light or shadow. Materialsfrom Mixed Media Place: Looking through all the beautiful and very creative projects you sent to our Exercise #7, our Design Team decided to give first place to: .... Tiras De Papeles.... We are in love with this piece, be sure to visit Tiras De Papeles blog for more photos. Congratulations!!! Please, contat us at: store(at)mixedmediaplace.com to claim your prize. And now it's time to grab your pencils, pens and crayons and simply feel the joy of drawing! You have time to present your works until June 17th. You can create any type of project you wish - ATC, layout, card, canvas, off the page project, collage, art-journal spread and more. Inspiration from our Design Team: Hello everyone! I was very inspired by the houses from our board and the palette. Already in the process, when I recorded for myself associations with a fairy-tale city, I thought about books and lights. My page about the old city. It would be great to take a walk in this and live there! Mixed Media Place supplies: Hiya! What a great challenge mood board Tusia has created for us! I love the colours. They seem so magical and remind me of a Utopia… and led me to think of a paradise centred on the theme of this board. I love creating on tags, sometimes it is good to mix it up with a different size substrates. I started with a layer of white gesso and stamped into this to create some texture. Izinks are great fun to use and incredibly pigmented! A perfect base to build up lots of layers! I have created a video of my process, hope you enjoy! Video: Hugs Georgie Mixed Media Place supplies: This time I was blown away by the gorgeous colour palette. Especially the smoky blues took my breath away. I made a tiny notebook in rather industrial look. I used an old rusty metal element as the main embellishment. To soften it a bit I glued on some fabric motifs. The crucial role played various minimalistic stamps that I stamped on using grey and turquoise ink. I love the way it turned out at the end. Mixed Media Place supplies: Hi everybody! A background with the inks of Lindy's and Ecoline, the tags, tags and labels of 7 Dots Studio, and here is a nice double page for the challenge! I was inspired by the colors and the sentence !!! xoxoxo Nirvana In this project I have been inspired by the photo of the city, those blue colors.... as for the phrase I have thought of a butterfly and its transformation. I have used a stencil to create the background and on it - I have splashed different shades of blue until I get the desired background! I have embossed a stamp and I have used another stencil to paint on it and finish creating the background. Then I have created the base of the photo with embellishments and voila! Mixed Media Place supplies: Hello, Cindy here. For this month challenge I have created 2 cards. I love pastel colours! And 7 Dots Studio has beautiful papers from the Dreamscapes collection, that I am still in love. So this month I played with pastel colore, 7 Dots Studio Dreamscapes papers and chipboard pieces, and flowers. Check out a little video to see how I did it. Hello everyone! On our vacation to Samos,Greece we made a boat trip to a deserted, little and gorgeous beach. Wanted to kinda blend this photo into the background and did a lot of painting. I'm really pleased with the result! This one is for hubby who absolutely loves boats! The background was painted with acrylic paints and gesso. Overheated some area's to get more texture. Made the brown flowers with small ribbon. The lighthouse and fish net were given a little coat with gesso. Dusty Attic goodies used: Dusty In Bloom, Blue bonnet, DA0807 Anchors, DA0558 Lighthouse small, DA0007 Fish Net Panel, DA0654 And some close-ups: Enjoy your day! Ingrid xxx

This is sad moment, when a few sweet ladies from our team step down. February 2017 was the last month of designing for Mixed Media Place for sweet: Tanya Palamarchuk, Eirini Tsaima, Cristin Stevenson, Sylwia Gryczuk and Marta Piekarczyk. Before we will say final goodbye, we would like to show some of their stunning projects: Eirini Cristin Marta Sylwia Gryczuk Tanya Palamarchuk Andrew (MMP Store Owner) and Finn: Every time, when it is time to say goodbye to such talented, dedicated and friendly Team Members our hearts are heavy. It is really a bitter-sweet moment: to be able to invite new people to join our mixed-media family we have to let other, so very valued people go. We can only say how deeply honoured and proud we are to be able to work with such talented artists and spread the love for arts and crafts. Tanya, Eirini, Cristin, Sylwia and Marta - without your help, enthusiasm and inspiration this place would be empty and sad and our job simply impossible to do. Thank you so much for your hard work, great atmosphere in the Team and beautiful projects. We will miss you very much - but we also hope not to loose touch with you all! We'd like also thank you our great helper, supporter and dear friend of ours - DT Coordinator Tusia, who is able to keep this part of our life organised, on time and simply perfect... you are a rare gem and we are blessed to have you on our side! Sending huge hugs and the very best wishes Andrew and Finn
Hello! Today I prepared for you one meaningful layout. It is about life, about its duration and the endless change of generations. Someone is assigned to live in this world 78 years and someone just 43. And most important, it's about the fact that at the end of our life's journey we will still stand side by side on the same level, regardless of who we were in this life. On the layout there is a line from the song: "Everyone has their own way, To each his own hour, Death equals us ... " Mixed Media Place supplies:
January is a month, when light is getting stronger and stronger. Each day the sun rises a little bit earlier and sets a little bit later than previous day. Let us be inspired by lights on the streets, hot spices warming us at home, light snow that flows through the air and starry night. Our design team created projects inspired by our moodboard. Hello friends! I was inspired to create this layout with a color palette and also the theme of the sky. The purple feather inspired me to use the wings in my work. I created layout after once again I heard a phrase from my favorite song "To those who built a temple in honor of the fall during takeoff". The song is Russian, but I hope I managed to translate the phrase exactly. Mixed Media Place supplies: Hello everyone! It is time for our New Mood board. This time I was inspired by its color. I love those deep and calm shades of violet with brownish notes and gold gimps. I created a canvas. It is dark, but romantic and flourish. Wish you happy crafting! My video: Mixed Media Place supplies: Hello mixed media friends! Our January moodboard inspired me to collect some pretty little things together and created shadow box for them. I painted cardboard base with acrylic paints "Linen" and "Dark Chocolate" and with black chalk paint. I used various Finnabair metal embellishments as decor and colored up them by patina effect pastes and waxes. I used colorful paper as a background. I made it from white paper using various paints and stamps. I prepared a video tutorial for you in which I showed two ways to make a such paper. This paper you can you use in different projects. Hope you like it! Mixed Media Place supplies: * * * * * * * * * * Join our new challenge! We love to see your beautiful creations! You have time to play with us until February 19th. There's no better time than now to say thank you to someone special... How about expressing your gratitude through paper & paints...? This layout is a special one for me... The picture in the project is from a necklace or rather a pendant I got from a scrappy friend Cathi O'Neill. Ever since I received this beauty in the mail, it has been constantly hanging around my neck. It's my favorite piece of jewelry and makes me cherish and realize how grateful I must be for having such amazing friends. So this project is a celebration of friendship and people with same interests! I used warm, neutral color scheme on the papers but made the piece really shine by using golden acrylic paint in the background. To give it a bit steampunk treatment I stamped a 3rd Eye cog stamp onto the wet paint and then added alcohol inks to the surface. To match the wooden embellishments with the palette I colored them with Pitt pens. Touches of yellow pigment make the layout even more glimmering. Lastly, I must say that I got to choose the image for the pendant myself. When I saw the picture of a crow, it was love at first sight. I've always thought crows and ravens are beautiful and mystical creatures. So I guess the crow in the pendant makes it even more special. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift, Cathi! So, I'm Kareen or kjkareen on the "scraposphere". I'm a stay-at-home mom, mother of two beautiful children. I have begun to do scrapbooking in 2007 and never stopped since. This passion keeps growing and I absolutely love it. I am a curious person and I like to discover the new products or new techniques. But first of all, I just love to create, layout most of the time. Of course, I'm addicted to sprays and paint, I have never enough of that! As you can see, I am not a vintage-style artist. But, with the moodboard, I decided to go with the turquoise color, the key and the feminine style. I stumbled upon paper crafting when I started blogging few years back and blown away by the talent I came across the world, which inspired me to take paper crafting seriously. I love trying something new all the time and that doesn't allow me to stay with a particular style or art form for long. From fine arts to crafts I have tried my hands on lots of things, and my latest obsession is mixed media. I love mixed media more as it inspires me to create with out any restriction, fulfills my love for playing with colors and to use all thing pretty. The April series of works I decided to open from this layout. It is made for the new challenge by Lindy's. Lindy's is collaborating with Stampotique stamps during the month of April. All the girls from our team got a few stamps, which was created for this task. I chose the stamp with the houses and made several prints on watercolor paper and tracing paper. I painted with Lindy's sprays. Two background stamp used here. Here is this month’s graphic for your inspiration. This challenge is valid on blog posts dated April 1, 2017- April 30, 2017 With this layout i'm entering... March challenge MMP I was inspired by feathers and houses! I tried to paint the feathers as well as on the Board of inspiration. Also I painted the background in the same way as the picture with the tree and water. I added splashes of white spray as the top right picture. скетч Stampotique products: Stitched Houses Item: 9262 Mayan Background #2 Item: 7124 Oodles of Doodles Item: 14010 Lindy's products: Embossing: Midnight Pewter Sprays: Yellow Rose of Texas, Chateau Rose, Alpine Ice Rose, Rusty Lantern Lime, Merci Beaucoup Mint, Azure Sea Asters, Blue Hawaiian Blue, Sidewalk Chalk
Hello dears! Autumn mood has captured the scrapers and I am no exception. So today I am with you, Svetlana Lipnitskaya and my new layout "Charm". The layout turned out to be vintage, with a lot of shiny details and decorative things. In the photo my sister, a fashionista and beauty, we are often told that we are very similar in appearance)) The basis of 7Dots paper, but the small crop and cut elements from the vintage collection Primamarketing. Primamarketing. By the way, the background chipboard was cut into several parts and covered with micro beads. It turned out very beautiful. Кстати, фоновый чипборд разрезала на несколько частей и покрыла микробисером. Получилось очень красиво. Спасибо за внимание! Всем вдохновения!

Hello hello again Mixed Media lovers!!! It's Eirini again, sharing with you a layout with my favourite 7 Dots Studio paper collections. When I saw that little girl in the field, gathering flowers, I immediately thought of Homegrown collection-Attic paper. The flowers are almost the same... So i cut the paper and turned it around. I glued the opposite sides together and started creating... At first I used heavy Gesso from Prima and added some clear crackle texture paste on top of that, spraying it here and there with some Lindy's mists. I stamped with 7 Dots Studio Homegrown clear stamp (stars) and placed all elements and stickers, as well as fussy cut 6x6 Fortune-teller papers and painted with my Lindy's mists Scrapiniec chipboard pieces. After mixing up 7 Dots Studio stickers coming from several collections, I have spread some glitter here and there and soften the whole project with Prima black and white Gesso splashes. I think the result is wonderful...What do you think??? Love you ladies....Eirini... Mixed Media Place supplies:
Hello, Mixed Media Artists! Are you ready for some creative fitness? ;) We are super excited to see so many of you joining our Gym! It's always a huge treat to be seeing your artworks inspired by our Exercises and we hope this month you're ready to stretch your creative muscle some more! This month's challenge was suggested by our lovely Anai and it's all about... ... TYPOGRAPHY ... We'd like to invite you to create any kind of project in which words & letters play the main role. Play with different types. Alphabets. Calligraphy. You may focus on the letters but also words and sentences. A quote. An affirmative sentence. Or just letter soup. If you need some ideas, our Design Team prepared some really inspiring projects! Enjoy! This time I decided to make a typography mixed media canvas - something I had in mind for a very long time. It's not very complicated, but I really like the final result and actually I spent a few days creating it. Instead of making the whole thing right away, lately I like working in stages. I feel like it helps me to focus. Working with a fresh mind instead of rushing to finish. :) The concept is pretty basic - a bit of Gesso on the background, different types of letters (great idea for using all these alphabet stickers I was gathering for years), script stencil and Modeling Paste, a lot of sprays - Glimmer Mists and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and a lot of water. No heating tool! In my opinion mists create a much better effect when I just leave them to dry. It also takes much more time but it's worth it. :) And some final touches - a little bit of white paint, some 7Dots Studio stamps and splashes made with a Twinkling H2O paint. Materials from Mixed Media Place: For this project I used a stencil with the Greek Alphabet, a script stamp and a really cool Pablo Picasso's quote: "I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it". To create the mixed media background first, I applied a coat of Light Paste and then I used the stencil with a custom paint made with Light Paste and Fresh Oregano Pigment - I really love this color! Then, I glued some paper pieces here and there, I covered them with a thin coat of White Gesso and stamped with the script stamp. In order to alter the chipboard pieces I used embossing powder in a similar color to the photo. The sprays I used all over the composition also have very similar shades to the color of the photo and I just like that a lot! For some final touches I applied with a paintbrush some Plumeria Silk here and there. Materials from Mixed Media Place: I love typography and letters of all kinds and shapes. Ever since I remember, I've loved writing and I often use calligraphy and hand write in my projects. I had an idea to decorate a 3D letter as I haven't tried that before. I dream of having a kitchen in industrial style so I decided to create some nice decor for it. I was going to create the word "ART" out of styrofoam letters I have at home but... somehow I could only find "A". :) Using Soft Matte Gel, I glued all kinds of papers scraps onto my styrofoam letter, vertically and horizontally. Then, I added one more layer of Soft Matte Gel and dried the whole thing. I added Ingvild's metal screw heads, bolts and nuts here and there. I painted everything with Black Gesso and dried. To achieve the metal effect I took a dry brush and gently wiped a little bit of Gold and Turquoise Inka Gold metallic rubs. Materials from Mixed Media Place: My one and only favorite actor is Johnny Depp! A remarkable actor and person. (I could keep talking about him for ever, but have to make it short here... :) ) There are so many different quotes I love, both by Johnny Depp and from the characters he plays. So here is my layout, with Mr.Depp himself and one of his quotes. I used Golden Molding Paste with the TCW Tiny Circles stencil. I sprayed Ranger's Colorwash on the pattern paper first. Next, I used a brush with water to “water it out”. I also sprayed some water on the page and dipped the brush with Colorwash in random places (you can see the effect especially on the turqouise “stream” on the right hand side of the page, below the photo of Mr.Gorgeous). I tried to “match” the pattern paper with my colors and misting. Materials from Mixed Media Place: When Anai suggested the typography challenge, I couldn't wait to play. I knew I had the perfect element to start with - an old alphabet that I bought when I began to scrap but somehow never used. First, it's because I seldom add titles to my projects, and secondly, when I do add a title, it is normally small, and those letters are quite big. I had a lot of ideas in my head but none of them, you know, really appealed to me. So I started to wonder why I agreed to participate in this challenge until I saw a Barbie doll on my desk... And here we are with a new little dress. It's really an easy little thing to make. I just glued one paper from Vintage Vanity collection using Soft Matte Gel on my canvas that I first primed with Heavy Gesso. I added a pattern with a Dots&Stripes stencil and some White Crackle Paste. Then, using 3D Matte medium, I glued the body, some old book pages to form the dress, and my alphabet. I allowed everything to dry before adding one coat of Gesso and then one coat of White Crackle Paste. I let everything dry overnight to allow the crackles to show. I mixed Soft Matte Gel with Mica Powders: Rust and Teal, and I used this mixture to color my dress. Here and there, I added some touches of Orange Peel Twinkling H2O that I used to color the body. Materials from Mixed Media Place: Oh, my mind was going superspeed on this one! So many ideas ranging from actual letters to tags, cards and making my own stamps. Typography, words and letters are really inspiring. They are beautiful to look at, they are meaningful and even powerful! I even thought about doing some calligraphy for a while, but in the end I thought to stay in my comfort zone and use different typography and letter details in a layout. I tried to include different kinds of letters in the layout in many ways. As my background I used a paper that already had some lettering, stamped with a scrip stamp, added type patterned paper and used alpha as a detail as well. I also tried to do a little bit longer title that connects to the theme. I really had fun with this challenge – I hope you will too! Materials from Mixed Media Place: We hope you already have some ideas buzzing in your heads! :) We'd like to thank you for... giving us a hard time deciding on the winner of Creative Gym Exercise #5... :) Seriously, the choice was almost impossible but we finally managed to choose the winner. And this month our winner is... ... Natalya Loi ... with this stunning layout: Huge congrats, Natalya! :) Please, contat us at: store(at)mixedmediaplace.com to claim your prize. We hope our Design Team Artists made you feel like exercising with us. :) We can't wait to see your creative typography! You have time to present your works until April 16th. Hello everyone! I love colors of our March Moodboard, they are so vibrant! I like those tiny red flowers, I think that they were my biggest inspiration. I decided to make an art journal page. It is my third try in making it, but I like the process. This kind of projects gives so much freedom. The most important is to start and let your creativity spread the wings. Wish you happy crafting, Nadya. Mixed Media Place supplies:

Hi folks I’m here sharing with you today a mixed media layout I have created using 7 Dots papers. I used Brain Freeze paper from the Cotton Candy range for the background piece. Then applied various mini Prima stamps with blue, black and grey Archival ink to the background. Using the bubbles stencil from Finnabair I lightly sprayed Glistening Waves Color Bloom spray, holding from a distance to lightly build up bubble definition. Then, turning the stencil over I used the remaining ink that landed on the stencil and pressed into the paper to create another cool pattern. For the next stencil, I used 7 Dots Stars Stencil, using Light Paste and adding WOW black glittering embossing powder over the top. Heat dried so the powder melted on top of the paste Then I mixed up Finnabair’s Modeling Paste with Deep Waters Archival Ink, and whilst still wet I added Micro Beads and Mini Art Stones for extra sea-worthy texture Once my stencilling was done, I used Destination Unknown 7 Dots papers in 6 x 6 to build the background for my photo to sit on, adding in Scrapiniec pieces, more Deep Waters Art Alchemy paint, glass glitter and mini art stones. I also added some Mechanical pieces and enamel dots for extra interest to the page. Here are some more close ups: That’s it from me for today, hope you enjoyed and do come back again soon to see more gorgeous inspiration from my teamies. With Warmest Wishes Georgie xx Mixed Media Place supplies:
