Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti has visited over fifty countries in the past two years capturing portraits of young children with their neatly organized collections of toys. You can buy a book with all the portraits here. “I recorded the spontaneous and natural joy that unites kids despite their diverse backgrounds. Whether the child owns a veritable fleet of miniature cars or a single stuffed monkey, the pride that they have is moving, funny, and thought provoking.” — Gabriele Galimberti More photography inspiration via Colossal

Dollhouse miniature ice cream scoop - your choice type Most miniatures you’ll find from Sahara’s Supplies will be 1/12 scale, but not all are, so please check the dimensions to see if they’ll work for your project. Although miniatures have enchanted us for centuries, their modern use in dollhouses is usually what comes to mind; but the fun doesn’t stop there! Dioramas can recreate your most frequented café, the log cabin where you spend Christmas, or a scene from your favorite movie. Fairy gardens are a magical project: think succulents surrounded by trellises, nests of eggs, and mini mushrooms. Shadow boxes can house a farmscape, a wedding scrapbook, or a nature assortment (visualize framed, 3D wall art). RPGs (role play games) for young and old, such as D&D, are brought to life with mini goblins, heroes, and props. Miniatures offer endless possibilities for the creative mind! Greek artist Gregory Grozos is on a quest to prove that pocket watches can do much more than just tick. They can fit entire worlds inside them. "I call my creations 'miniature worlds' because that is what I exactly aim them to be," Gregory writes. "I try to make each work of art as detailed and complete as a tiny world would need to be in order to be called a world."

Bon patouillage!
