WOW! Check these out....... WHICH do you like better? THIS (black)? or THAT (white)? On the black one I did a fun embossed resist technique! This is an old technique that has been around forever. NOTE: This is messy, you might want to wear rubber gloves or use kleenex to hold down the DSP, so that you don't touch it & get ink all over! I drug/rubbed my Memento ink pad directly across the foiled DSP. I then took a kleenex & wiped over the top of the whole piece of DSP. Hello Friends and welcome to this month's Stamping With The Stars Sketch Inspiration Hop. I am so glad you are here to see September's sketch. Let's get started! Here is the sketch: And here is my interpretation of the sketch. As usual, I choose to follow the sketch almost exactly. The star of this card is the specialty paper at the bottom. It is called Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series paper and is available as an Online Exclusive, which means it won't appear in a catalog and is available while supplies last. Each sheet has a silhouette of delicate florals or slender trees printed in metallic foil and covered with subtle spatters. There are 6 sheets, 2 of each silver, copper, and gold. This paper is gorgeous! I used gold embossing power to make the sentiment which is from the Quiet Meadow Cling Stamp Set and Meadow dies. I love the monochromatic effects of this card. The gold floral background on the top of the card was cut using Gold Foil Sheets also using the Meadow Dies. I love how the butterfly seems to be flying with using a mini glue dot on one side of the butterfly and folding up the left wing. Measurements: Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock: 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2" plus a scrap piece for the sentiment Naturally Gilded 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper (Online Exclusives): 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Gold Foil Sheet for die cutting floral/butterfly I hope you enjoyed reading about this card. You can click on any of the products below and it will take you directly to my online store in case you would like to purchase anything. Until next time. Happy Stamping! Hello, crafty friends. Today, I have a creation to share with you using the Naturally Gilded 12" x 12" Specialty DSP. This paper contains gold, silver and copper embossed floral designs on Basic White or Very Vanilla as the background. This specialty paper is perfect for adding color of your choice with different medias such as Blending Brushes, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Blends or Stampin' Spritzers. For this creation, I started out with a Blending Brush and added Pumpkin Pie ink to the bottom of a white and copper embossed piece followed by Pale Papaya ink in the middle and leaving the top untouched. I then cut it down and matted it onto a piece of Basic White cardstock die cut with the Scallop Contour Dies. Next, I added some Pale Papaya cardstock die cut flowers from the Meadow Dies. These dies match the DSP perfectly. :) Lastly, I added a copper embossed sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set. The font in this set is so beautiful! Although the bundle is current unavailable, it should be back in stock in mid April. The Hello, Irresistible Blooms Suite makes for gorgeous creations and I have made lots of creations using these products and plan to offering a card class for you as soon as it is available again. In March, when you place an online order of $35 or more using Host Code 7VNYECAJ, you will receive the Enamel Dots Essentials embellishment as my thank you gift. Friends, have you checked out the new Online Exclusive products that went live March 1st? Last week's Facebook Live featured the beautiful new Hello, Irresistible Suite. If you missed the demo and blog post, click here. Today's card features another brand new product - the gorgeous new Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP. I've paired it with the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set, from our Annual Catalogue. Something old and something new! Click here to see my Facebook Live demo. I'll include a clickable photo supply list at the end of this post. To make this card, I started by die-cutting my label from Very Vanilla Cardstock, using the Waves Dies. This label is a favourite of mine, for the ability to thread ribbon through it. Next, I stamped and embossed. I first used my Embossing Buddy to remove any humidity from the cardstock I'd be stamping on. Using VersaMark Ink, I stamped my sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set onto the label. (Ce jeu d'estampes est également disponible en français.) Then I stamped the floral image onto a 2" x 5" strip of Very Vanilla Cardstock. To emboss, I shook Gold Embossing Powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders over the images, then tapped off the excess and returned it to the jar. I used my Heat Tool to emboss both images. (If you've never used this tool before, it is much like using a hairdryer.) Then I trimmed the edges of the floral image to turn it into a 1 1/2" x 5" rectangle. Here's a look at the stamps in the Dragonfly Garden set: To assemble the card, I positioned the floral image and two 1" x 5" strips of the Gold Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP on a 4" x 5 1/4" Gold Foil Sheets panel. I used Grid Paper to help me centre the floral image, then adhered it with Stampin' Seal. I also adhered the Naturally Gilded strips with Stampin' Seal. Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP comes in patterns of Copper, Gold & Silver: I next fed Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon through the label and attached the ribbon to the back of the Gold Foil panel with Mini Glue Dots. I added Stampin' Dimensionals behind the label to pop it up, then tied and attached a bow using Mini Glue Dots. My final step was adding the completed panel to a 4 1/4" x 11" Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. Thanks for joining me today, friends! Friends, it's time for another This or That! Which card is your fave? This Or That? Both cards today feature the brand new Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP, paired with the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set. I'll include a clickable photo supply list at the end of this post. The sentiment "You are an inspiration" is such a versatile one! These cards could be for a Silver or Golden wedding anniversary, or they could just as easily be for a birthday, graduation, or to recognize someone's persistence in the face of great hardship. To see instructions & video demo for the gold card, click here. To make the silver card, I started by die-cutting my label from Basic White Cardstock, using the Waves Dies. Next, I used my Embossing Buddy to remove humidity from the cardstock. Using VersaMark Ink, I stamped my sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set onto the label. (Ce jeu d'estampes est également disponible en français.) Then I stamped the floral image onto a 2" x 5" strip of Basic White Cardstock. Next, I embossed the images. I shook Silver Embossing Powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders over the images, then tapped off the excess and returned it to the jar. I used my Heat Tool to emboss both images. (If you've never used this tool before, it's as simple as using a hairdryer.) The Metallics Embossing Powders come in 3 colours: Copper, Gold & Silver: To assemble the card, I first trimmed the edges of the floral image to turn it into a 1 1/2" x 5" rectangle. I positioned the floral image and two 1" x 5" strips of the Silver Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP on a 4" x 5 1/4" Silver Foil Specialty Pack panel. I used Grid Paper to help me centre the floral image, then adhered it with Stampin' Seal. I also adhered the Naturally Gilded strips with Stampin' Seal. I next fed Metallic Mesh Ribbon, folded in half, through the label and attached the ribbon to the back of the Silver Foil panel with Mini Glue Dots. I like this ribbon a lot, as it adds some shine to any project: I added Stampin' Dimensionals behind the label to pop it up, then tied and attached a bow using Mini Glue Dots. My final step was adding the completed panel to a 4 1/4" x 11" Basic White Thick Cardstock card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. I hope you enjoyed This or That, friends! WOW! Check these out....... WHICH do you like better? THIS (black)? or THAT (white)? On the black one I did a fun embossed resist technique! This is an old technique that has been around forever. This card is one that everyone stamping with me at my March monthly classes will be making! They can choose if they want a black base or just want to leave it white! If you CLICK ON THE LINKS BELOW you'll find other posts I have previously done over the years with this embossed resist technique. https://stampwithsusie.blogspot.com/2014/08/a-seasonally-scattered-fall-card.html https://stampwithsusie.blogspot.com/2015/02/it-is-best-day-ever.html https://stampwithsusie.blogspot.com/2014/05/an-embossed-resist-technique.html https://stampwithsusie.blogspot.com/2013/03/by-tidedoing-embossed-resist-technique.html How did I do this? NOTE: This is messy, you might want to wear rubber gloves or use kleenex to hold down the DSP, so that you don't touch it & get ink all over! I drug/rubbed my Memento ink pad directly across the foiled DSP. I then took a kleenex & wiped over the top of the whole piece of DSP. By doing this- it will remove the ink that is on the copper embossed part to make it shiny again! So here is the before & after looks!! And check out all of these gorgeous DSP! #161639- Naturally Gilded 12x12 Specialty DSP= $10.00 Product colors: Copper, gold, silver, Very Vanilla, Basic White This is the card with the copper & white background DSP. Hi Friends! One of the perks of being an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is being able to order early when there is a new product launch. With the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog beginning May 2, a selection of products became available for preorder this month, including the new set of In Colors. I happen to love this collection of colors, and I'm excited to use them with my supply of stamp sets. I also recently ordered an online exclusive product - the Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series Paper. It's even more lovely in person! You get 2 sheets each in White and Silver, Vanilla and Gold, and White and Rose Gold. This DSP is great for ink blending - with a little ink and a blending brush, you can add some color to the background and the foil shines right through. Here's a card I made with a piece of the Naturally Gilded DSP in Vanilla and Gold that I blended with some Wild Wheat and Copper Clay inks. I attached this piece to a card base of Pretty Peacock (another new color!). I stamped some images from the Nature's Prints stamp set in Copper Clay, Wild Wheat and Pretty Peacock and attached those to a Very Vanilla panel die cut from the Scalloped Contours Dies. For added sparkle and shine, I punched the images from the Bough Punch in the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. Finally, the sentiment comes from the Season of Chic stamp set in Copper Clay on a piece of Wild Wheat cardstock. Here's another card I made with the Vanilla and Rose Gold color of the DSP. I blended this with new color Lemon Lolly and Calypso Coral. I layered this on a Copper Clay cardstock mat and attached it to a piece of the retiring Country Gingham DSP in Petal Pink on a Copper Clay card base. The flower die cut is from the Meadow Dies which I cut out in Basic White. I used my Sponge Daubers to add Lemon Lolly and Copper Clay ink to the die cut image. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set on Basic White punched from the Double Oval punch with a bottom layer of Copper Clay. I just had to play with one more new-to-me stamp set, Bottled Happiness. I stamped the flowers in Boho Blue and the leaves in Pebbled Path. The bottle is stamped with Moody Mauve ink, stamped off once, and then the bottle detail is stamped in Moody Mauve at full strength. I stamped the sentiment from in Pebbled Path. I layered the white panel on a Pebbled Path cardstock mat, which I adhered to a layer of Boho Blue on a Pebbled Path card base. This made a nice, flat card that would be easy to mass-produce and mail. What do you think of the new In Colors? Will you be adding them to your collection when they become available on May 2? Happy stamping! Michelle
