I recently shared on my Instagram a piece of advice I heard from one of my favorite Podcasts. They said "Do something every day that cannot be un-done." Basically it will make us Happier if we are able to do something that is different than the day before. So I thought something I look forward to is hosting and reading books and discussing them- both are things that cannot be un-done. Come read how I started my new bookclub and past favorite books I have read.

Believe it or not one of the most asked questions I get is- "what do you do for workouts?" How did you gain muscle? Well, I shared it all on the blog today! And a new little fitness tool that I have been loving. Read the post HERE. Also wanted to share the baskets below that I just found- a budget friendly version to the Serena & Lily lidded baskets!! We are talking $49 compared to $129! Click on a basket to shop it- (they will sell out, so weaned to mention it here!) JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. We had a FB live last night for the "Nesters" anyone on this email list can join! One question that came up was how to create a mood board or I call them a Design Board. I shared the EASIEST way and I think they way that looks the best:) on todays blog post HERE. I also shared WHERE to start when designing a room! First a design question (still working thru my emails, I will let you know when I am accepting more!) DESIGN QUESTION- This is a sitting area in our master bedroom.Right now I only have curtains in here (the are made of shiny material which I did not realize when I bought them online, so returning them). The color of the room won’t be changing. Any suggestions for this space that will also help livin the room up?? I don’t have a budget number in my head but I can’t spend an arm and a leg. MY SUGGESTION- This is hard to answer without knowing more about your home and how you want to use the room. BUT one thing I can suggest is to do a grouping of 4 chairs around an ottoman. This set-up wouldn't feel like a family room the way a sofa and chairs would. Easy to get to the closets if the chairs are in the center of the room. Just a thought! I would also make sure to always read what curtains and rugs are made of when you purchase online- look for natural fibers. You could make a Design Board for this room too! Head to my post today to find out how HERE

We started a hashtag campaign #purposeinstyle with four other bloggers. The purpose is all about sharing photos of our homes being lived in and the purpose of why we design and decorate it the way we do. We encouraged others on Instagram to share their home by using our hashtag #purposeinstyle and telling us what living with purpose in style means to them. These were our top picks for the past weeks along with my wild card winner at the end
After I did the blog post on how to create a Design Board I received a lot of questions if there is a way to create a Design Board via your phone? I tested out two different Apps and I really liked both of them (one a little more than the other). I gave a tutorial with the steps on creating a Design Board. Also shared my new Spring Bedding Design Board. Head to the post HERE. It was really fun to play with! Answering one of your design questions today (soon I will be taking more) Design Question- "This is our family room, which is a work in progress. There's still so much we'd love to do when the budget allows. My question is - what would you do with this fireplace?! I've held off on painting it because I wanted to be sure it was the right decision. I love for rooms to feel light and airy but I also like some traditional elements like the dark beams so in some ways the brick doesn't bother me. However, it feels like a dark corner in the living room right now. This fireplace is our main source of heat so we have to be somewhat careful with what we do to it since it burns 24 hours a day for so many months."Thank you, Kerri My Suggestions- I personally would paint the fireplace. It would brighten up that corner and the nice mantle would be a great contrast. If you really love the red brick you could add some large wood boxes on each side of the fireplace opening and paint them white to balance out the white shiplap board you have above. Right now it feels really top heavy. NESTERS- (yes you!) Would you paint it?? (Comment on todays blog post!!) I did email Kerri back and suggest she move her sofa to face the fireplace. She did it!! She loves the change and so do I! Behind where her sofa is now is a dining table, so placing the sofa facing the fireplace also helps to separate the two spaces and break up all chairs.... BEFORE- AFTER- Great change right??

I am VERY excited to share this home with you. This is a client of mine that I did a design plan for and accessorized every inch. BUT it was all pieces that were thrifted. I gave her the plan and she got the same look by thrifting everything. There are a lot of great photos of FOUR rooms in home. I also shared FIVE tips to find thrifted pieces like she does. Below is the BEFORE photo of her family room- you will not believe the AFTER and the fact that is was all thrifted. See it all HERE

Hello! My sister was in town all weekend and it was so nice to have her. I hope you had a great weekend too! On today's blog post I have the easiest Gluten-Free Bread recipe! If you love my Mom's Artisan Bread and you want a Gluten-Free option, you will love this. ALSO there is a FREE printable for that Artisan Bread Recipe. Go see where I framed it and added it to my kitchen HERE. Answering TWO design questions today.... Design Question- This is our sitting room, that you see as soon as you walk in. I just want any feedback you have on how I can make this space feel more complete, cozy! What should I add or change? Gallery wall? I would like to incorporate a floor lamp. Thanks so much! Jillian My Suggestions- First off your curtains are hung perfectly! Here are a couple things I would suggest- #1- Add a rug, yes even on carpet. It will pull the room together and make it feel cozy! Make sure to get it large enough that the front legs of each sofa are on the rug. And go with a lighter rug to contrast the dark sofa's and carpet. #2- Center the sofa under the window. Move the drawer cabinet under the clock and create a cozy grouping there. You will probably have to take the sofa table out, but a chair would look good angled in that space in a lighter fabric. #3- Lower the sign with writing about 5-6" it is hung a little too high. #4- Add some life with some plants! Even a large tree on the floor and a floor lamp would look great! Design Question- I have been looking at my own home and I realized there are things that really bug me! We rearranged our family room, we put the love seat under the window by the fireplace and mounted the tv. The lazy boy (my husband can’t live without) this room gets a lot of use, it’s where my fam hang out. Something feels off. Oh btw I’m going to put up white panels for the window treatments. Have a great day, Victoria My Suggestions- I LOVE your fireplace! #1- I would suggest a rug in this room too!! YES!! Make sure the rug goes under the front of all the sofa legs. This will really finish your room! #2- One thing I can offer is that you have a lot of the same things- the same style lamps all in that one end of the room. I would move the floor lamp out or to the other side of the sofa facing the fireplace. #3- I would just do a single frame on your side table and add a plant to add some different texture. #4- Also add another pillow to the long sofa in a cream to break up all the plaid. #5- You are on the right track! Just try to mix things up- play with shapes and styles. For instance your art on either side of the window both as writing- really similar. Also on your mantle you have a cluster of the same size frames. Mix it up! Hope that helps more than just the two with the questions!! Head to todays blog post HERE You will LOVE the "Welcome to the Neighborhood" Print out!!
