He had originally trained at the Ecole d'Horlogerie de la Vallée de Joux, in 1967 he was hired by Jaeger-LeCoultre following he joined General Watch & Co. In 1974, he worked for Gérald Genta then Audemars Piguet. From 1978, he started restoring antique watches, he then made his first movement, a grande sonnerie pocket watch.
