Friends! Look at my little space man! How cute is he with his daddy at Disney riding the rides. I just love his little face. I didn't want to do all Disney themes papers so I went with Bella Blvd's To The Moon collection that I bought over at Paper Issues. Grab it for 20% off using code: Mary-Ann. The base paper is from Vicki Boutin and is already pre-colored for me. It was another Live FB video if you want to watch! https://www.facebook.com/1635582489/videos/10224008696838661/

Hello! Anybody there??? 😂 Just kidding. I am really bad at blogging though, aren't I? I'm thinking I should try harder to make the time to share my cards more often. 😋 It's not that I don't make them, its just that I am not so good with sharing them. Well, that and the fact that 'last minute Lucy' over here, seems to always be making cards 5 minutes before I need them and end up either not taking photos or simply forgetting to come back and share them. Anyway.... its still early into 2018 and therefore IMHO still ok to make positive changes, right? 😉 So lets move along, shall we? Today I have a card to share that I made for a birthday party my youngest son was invited to this weekend. I used the Space Explorer set from MFT for this one and it was SOOO much fun to make. I started this card with an idea for the background that I wanted my space dude to be floating on. The earth was a free with 60 die I got a while ago with one of my MFT orders. It is one of my favourite dies. It was attached to a sentiment that read "you mean the world to me" but thanks to my old jewelry making days I had the tools on hand to cut that part off so that I could just use the earth as a stand alone die. I have had a lot of use of this die this way. The die only cuts out the continents, so once those were cut out, I used a circle stax die that fitted to make a mask. I masked off the background and went to work inking up the blue earth using distress inks. Once I was happy with the earth, I masked it off and got inky with my space background. I used a white gel pen and some studio calico white and shimmer sprays to create the stars. The images (including the continents) were coloured with Copic markers. I used some glossy accents to add some interest and dimension to the moon, the ring around Saturn and the continents on the earth. Once everything was inked and coloured, I mounted it onto a silver glitter card stock. That, was then mounted onto a white card base on which I used a stitched die from lil inkers to create a stitching line detail. You can't see it in this photo (and I can't seem to upload the video I took 😡) but the space guy is attached with an action wobbler, so he jiggles! EEKKK! 7 year olds get all the fun cards I tell ya! Anyhoo... thats my card for today. I hope you like it. And come back tomorrow to see all the fun I have been having with some Altenew flowers. Thanks for visiting me. Tasha 😘
"Beautiful Little Girl" Hi there lovelies, thanks for stopping by. Today I have my October DT reveal for 2Crafty Chipboard and this first layout features my gorgeous grandaughter Mia. These are the 2Crafty chippie pieces I have used. 2Crafty Chipboard Used.. Addy's Butterflies Geo Triangle Border Geo Triangle Panel Beautiful Little Girl-title All of the chippies I have used were firstly coated with gesso & followed by some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays "Hottie Patottie" & "Azure Sea Asters" brushed on, followed by a little water to create an uneven watercolour effect. I love this "Geo Triangle Panel". It is a 6" panel but I have cut it up & placed it randomly underneath my photo. I repeated the pattern in the stamping too. A couple of 2Crafty "Addy's Butterflies" added around the layout. I always bend them in the middle to add a little dimension. This is one of their new borders called "Geo Triangle Border". It is a perfect match to the panel. They work so well together. I always cut my chippie pieces up to suit my layout so I teamed all the little left over bits to create a cluster in the bottom left corner of the page. "This Is You" For my second layout I have done a boy layout which features my cute little grandson Henry. 2Crafty Chipboard Used... This Is You-title Bubble Grid Panel ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars Multi Pack Gears Multi Pack Mini Cameras Multi Pack The title & the tiny stars were both just coloured with some red acrylic paint. I have cut up the "6" Bubble Grid Panel" & placed pieces behind & around my photo. The "Bubble Grid Panel", the "Mini Cameras" the "Cogs" were all just coloured black with a stamp pad. Just too easy. Lots of paint splashing, background stamping & a couple of flair buttons. I do love those little "Mini Cameras". Well thats all for today. See you back here again next month. This is another card featuring MFT Space Explorer set and copic markers. Can you guess the inspiration for my color combo? Buzz Lightyear, of course! I also used a little white gel pen to make highlights on the visor area and window before covering those areas in liquid glass (aka glossy accents). The astronaut and ship are popped up foam tape. The base is SU Whisper White. I used distress oxide inks to try my hand at a galaxy background before spattering it with white distress paint, flicked off an acrylic block with a paintbrush. I will admit, I used SU cardstock and totally would do this again with watercolor paper. I had to be very light with the water to keep it from warping. I love the chalky finish. The sentiment is stamped with versamark and heat embossed in white. I took a tip from Jennifer McGuire for the teather line. Use a bit of glue on your fingers to spread glue on the twine, then shape into place and leave to dry on a silicone mat. As I mentioned in the last post, the planet is made with a cutting two large circle dies, then using various size dies and punches to make holes in one layer. I used matching ink and sponged around the layers and added some shadows. I cut the finished planet in half to make two cards. I am entering this into MFT Birthday Project Challenge featuring circles. Thanks for looking! April
