Hello Crafty Friends, I created another card feathering the Small Die Club & 3D embossing Folder Club of April 2024. I used the 3D embossing folder (3D EOM of April 2024) on white cardstock and die-cut the floss from each color. Additionally, I attached a die-cut thread to the card. The thread cut is from
Hello Crafty Friends, It's time to share the cards featuring the Spellbinders Club for April. I can't believe it's already April; time flies by so quickly. I'm sharing two cards today, I made two of them with DOML and CDOM of this month. DOML + EOM April 2024 First, I embossed the EOM "Faux Stitched
Happy Friday friends! Today I'm sharing my fun card featuring Spellbinders March Stitching Die of the Month called Stitched Read & Sip! If you've ever thought about trying a stitching die, this is a good one to try. It has minimal stitching and would also be beautiful without any stitching! All of Spellbinders monthly clubs, including the Stitching Dies of the Month have a window of time to enroll and receive that month's featured product. This month's "window" is March 6-27. The only time it might not be available is if the item has sold out for the month. Also, you can cancel at any time. Check out all of the specific details here. I die cut the Stitched Read & Sip from purple, green, yellow, and neutral cardstocks. All available cardstocks are linked in the list below. I added a bit of shading to the cup and flowers with coordinating ink. Then I used purple and green DMC embroidery floss for the quick stitching. The thread on the book is one that I had in my stash that I saved years ago when I used to do counted cross-stitch a lot. To adhere the stitched layers to the base layer, I just put glue on the back of the stitching and aligned it with the base piece. It gives instant dimension! I embossed a white cardstock panel with the Checkered Scallops embossing folder. This is the March Embossing Folder of the Month. I embossed all but about ¾" of the bottom edge of the panel. Then I glued it to an A2 card base. I adhered the Stitched Read & Sip elements to the card. I added a sentiment from the Just Wanted to Say Glimmer set that I foiled with Fuchsia Flower Glimmer Foil. For easy foiling I used Spellbinders Glimmer Specialty cardstock. I hope I've inspired you today to try these fabulous stitching dies. It's really fun and makes a very special and unique card to give. Thank you for stopping by! Thank you for shopping with my affiliate links (never any additional cost to you)!
I finally got the Spellbinders' Bold Blooms! I have a drawer full of scrap cardstock. This die set is perfect for using up the scraps. Look at all the colors I used. I really like how the dies cut and emboss at the same time, adding dimension. The only diecut I popped up with foam is the large blue flower near the bottom. The sentiment is from an old stamp set by Hero Arts, I stamped and gold embossed it. The best news? Spellbinders has a huge sale going on, this die is on sale, and quite a few dies are now 50% off! The Spellbinders Club Kits are available now through April 27. The theme this month is stitching! My first card uses both the Glimmer of the month: Sew Amazing and the Stitching dies of the month: Stitched Wall Hanging. I was sent some Moondust glimmer foil, so that's what dictated my colors for this card. supplies: white, aquas, and green cardstock, Sew Amazing glimmer plates (background and sentiment), Moondust glimmer foil, Stitched Wall Hanging dies, 3 strands of embroidery floss in 2 aquas and a green The glimmer plates this month include these 6 stitching panels, which I lined up vertically on white cardstock and foiled with Moondust glimmer foil. I also foiled and reverse-foiled all 4 of the sentiments in that set, and cut them out with the included banner die. Then I stitched flowers and leaves and cut out some leafy branches and buds from the Stitched Wall Hanging set, and arranged them around one of the reverse-foiled sentiments. Next, here is a card that shows more of the elements in the Stitching kit. I placed the finished image onto the new 3D embossing folder called One Stitch at a Time, and added a needle and thread from the Large Dies of the Month: Pins and Needles Jar. supplies: kraft, peach, white, yellow, mint, and green cardstock, silver and gold foiled cardstock, peach embroidery floss, Stitched Wall Hanging dies, One Stitch at a Time 3D embossing folder, needle and floss from Pins and Needles Jar Here is a mix of the Large Dies, the Clear Stamp/Dies, and the regular embossing folder. supplies: white, cotton candy, pastel green, yellow, silver, and gold foil cardstock, Pins and Needles Jar dies, Happy Stitching clear stamps and matching dies, and Faux Stitched Petal embossing folder It was fun to put together these pretty scissors and make a couple bobbins of embroidery floss! You can see the needle and thread I used in my previous card once again. These are just a few of the Large Dies for this month - the kit includes a large jar with a pin cushion top and lots of things to fill the jar with: floss skein, buttons, a thimble, safety and straight pins. This set would make a great shaped card! My next card features the Small Dies of the Month: Faux-Stitched Sentiments and Floss, with return appearances of the 3D folder and the Clear Stamp of the Month. white, black, coral, green, yellow, and gold foil cardstock, Faux-Stitched Sentiments and Floss dies, One Stitch at a Time 3D folder, and a sub-sentiment from Happy Stitching stamp set These dies include 6 dies to make the embroidery floss skeins, plus 5 large word dies with stitching details. I stamped the sub-sentiment before embossing my white panel. And finally, here are the Stencils of the Month: a 5-piece set called Rainbow Floss Background. I used my favorite current colors of ink to make them. supplies: white and black cardstock, Rainbow Floss Background stencils, Caboodle Bonus Pins & Needles Sentiments dies I used one of the Caboodle Bonus dies for this month as my sentiment. You can look HERE for information on Spellbinders Clubs. Each is available only from the 6th until the 27th of each month. Hello Friends, I know I got the BetterPress Club of April 2024, but instead of BetterPressing it, I hot-foiled it with gold foil on dark gray and black card stock. I inspired the old classic Singer sewing machine color combination of black and gold, which I applied to my card. I love the design of

Welcome to the weekend friends! The March 2024 Club Kits from Spellbinders have been revealed and there are tons of beautiful and unique book-themed designs this month! Today I’m sharing ten card projects featuring the Large Die of the Month, Small Die of the Month, Stitching Die of the Month, Glimmer Kit of the Month, Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, Embossing Folder of the Month, 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kits, BetterPress of the Month Kit, and the Stencil of the Month Kit! Note: The new Subscription Sign-Up Window opens on the 6th of each month and closes on the 27th. After existing club members subscriptions have been processed, if there is additional inventory remaining, then they will be made available for new subscriptions and will have limited availability. Continuing Subscriptions will charge on the 5th of each month. This means existing Club Members will still be able to cancel subscriptions or make edits to payment or shipping info up until the 4th of each month. LARGE DIE OF THE MONTH This month’s Large Die of the Month Kit, “Classic Tales“, is a sweet set of 19 dies that can be used to create a beautiful stack of books with a fun house and trees sprouting out of it! I used all of the dies in the set to make this bright and colorful love card, but you can use the book dies alone for even more options. I cut all of the components out of Spellbinders cardstock and assembled them with liquid glue. To create the background, I embossed a piece of Glacier Cardstock using this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month, added the die-cuts on top, and finished it all off with a sentiment foiled in Aura Hot Foil using this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month. SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH This month’s Small Die of the Month Kit, “Wise Owl“, is such a unique set perfect for book lovers or even soon-to-be-graduates. The kit contains 15 cutting dies that allow you to cut an adorable owl and place him atop a beautiful layered book. I cut my owl and book out of shades of brown and blue to create this fun graduation card in my recipient's school colors! To assemble the card, I embossed a piece of Glacier Cardstock with this month's 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, matted it with Cosmic Sky Cardstock, and added it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. The sentiment was foiled in Cobalt Hot Foil using this month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month. STITCHING DIE OF THE MONTH This month’s Stitching Die of the Month continues with the fun book theme! “Stitched Read & Sip“, is a set of 17 dies that cuts a stack of books you can stitch as well as a sweet stitchable teacup and floral assessories. I cut all of the elements from brightly-colored Spellbinders cardstock and then stitched everything up with gold metallic thread. The stitching is very simple with this months's design, and the die-cuts look great as-is if you’re not feeling up to stitching. The background and sentiment were foiled onto white cardstock using Aura Hot Foil and this month’s Glimmer of the Month Kit. After adding the books and teacup on top of the striped panel, I tucked some of the flowers and leaves from the kit behind the stack to embellish. CLEAR STAMP & DIE OF THE MONTH KIT I know that gnomes can be a little controversial sometimes, but I really love the style of these illustrations and the book tie-in! This month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Kit, “Storytime Gnomes” is a set of 9 stamps with three large gnome images as well as some great coordinating sentiments. If your subscription includes the coordinating dies, you’ll also get 7 dies to cut out the main images and all of the sentiments. I stamped all of the images from the kit onto white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers before cutting them out using the coordinating dies to create this cute thank you card (keep scrolling to see the other images!). To create the background, I trimmed a piece of Waterfall Cardstock to 4 x 5.25 and stamped the book and star images from the kit all over in a similar color of ink to form my own tone-on-tone patterned paper. After adhering the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I popped the image and sentiment up on top with foam adhesive and added a few opalescent sequins to embellish. GLIMMER KIT OF THE MONTH This month’s Glimmer Kit of the Month, “Sketched Lines” contains 2 Glimmer plates that can be used to foil a fun background or border design along with four book-themed sentiments and their coordinating die. I applied Aura Hot Foil to Pink Sand Cardstock using the stripe image (you have to foil twice to cover an entire A2-sized panel) and one of the sentiments from the kit for this pretty birthday card for my daughter. Where can you get that princess castle? Fairy Tales is this month's bonus item available only to those that subscribe to the Deluxe Caboodle Club...this set of 9 dies will build a beautiful layered castle like this one and works perfectly with the open book from this month's Large Die of the Month! I added a simple circle die-cut behind it that I had inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink and a few clouds from the On Cloud Nine Die Set for an extra dreamy look. EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH And here is this month’s beautiful Embossing Folder of the Month, “Checkered Scallops“. It embosses a subtle wave pattern that gives a nod to rows of books and open volumes, but is also versatile enough to work for just about any kind of card. I embossed a piece of white cardstock and then easily blended a little Saltwater Taffy and Dried Marigold Distress Ink over the rows using two of the layering stencils in this month's Stencil of the Month Kit. To complete the card, I added another one of my colored gnome images and sentiments from this month's Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Kit on top of the fun background with foam adhesive. Then I picked some Aura and Pink Opalescent Sequins to match the inked background and added a few to embellish. 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER OF THE MONTH And speaking of versatile, this month’s 3D Embossing Folder of the Month pretty much works with everything! “Classic Backdrop” is exactly what it sounds like...a classic trellis or crosshatched design that is elegant and will never sit idle on your craft bench for long. I embossed a piece of Glacier Cardstock with the folder and inked the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Ink to bring out the design a bit more in those areas. And since I still hadn't had enough of this month's Large Die of the Month, I created this pretty floral card perfect for any kind of new beginning - marriage, baby, or even a new job. The flowers and leaves coming out of the book were cut using a mix of dies from both the Small and Large Die of the Month Kits, and I added yet another sentiment foiled in Aura Hot Foil using the Glimmer of the Month Kit. BETTERPRESS OF THE MONTH This month’s BetterPress of the Month Kit, “Friendship Book Plate“, contains 2 press plates that create a beautiful border design and a sweet sentiment as well as two dies to cut the center of the design and the sentiment out. I loved how these designs resembled a gilded leather-bound book, so I used my kit to add Aura Hot Foil to Wild Berry Cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating dies. To assemble the card, I first embossed a white card base using this month's 3D Embossing Folder of the Month before adhering the foiled components on top with foam adhesive. Then I added a bunch of Teal Mix Gems to the book cover as berries to embellish. STENCIL OF THE MONTH This month’s Stencil of the Month, “Dynamic Backgrounds” is a set of 5 layering stencils that creates three abstract background designs. I masked off a small circle on some Dune Cardstock and used two of the stencils to apply Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to create this fun background for a coffee-themed card. After adding the background to a top-folding A2-sized white card base, I popped another cute gnome image and sentiment from this month's Clear Stamp & Die of the Month up on top with foam adhesive. Then I added Peach Opalescent Sequins around my image to finish off the card. WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH Lastly, here is a look at this month’s Wax Seal of the Month Kit. The “Congrats On Your New Chapter” Wax Seal Kit contains one pretty square wax seal stamp as well as a bag of coordinating waxbeads. My kit came with Twilight Purple Wax Beads, so I melted them before pressing it with the stamp to create this pretty seal. To bring out the design more, I added gold metallic marker to the raised design of the seal. I kept the scene simple with some books from the Large Die of the Month Kit on a makeshift shelf (white cardstock embossed with a woodgrain press plate) all placed atop a background of Waterfall Cardstock embossed with the Classic Backdrop Embossing Folder. I hope you enjoyed these fun book-themed card projects and thanks so much for stopping by today. You can subscribe to any of the Spellbinders Clubs starting on the 6th of the month (including the new Stencil of the Month Club!) and never miss a great kit like these again! Hello there! This is Lisa from My Card Trip and I am thrilled to be a guest here on the Spellbinders blog. Today I am sharing some inspiration with the newly released Fresh Picked Collection. This is such a beautiful collection – modern, contemporary floral and berry designs along with a super sentiment set and a stylish versatile embossing folder. I live in the southern part of England and this collection makes me want to skip the next few grey months and dive straight into Spring and Summer. So, let’s get started with my cards! Hello Whenever I see a leaf die, I am always tempted to make a wreath! So today I thought I would make a wreath with lots of foliage and some berries interspersed amongst all the greenery. The set I am working with for this card is Fresh Picked Berries Etched Dies. I started by picking out three green cardstocks for my foliage – Peridot, Rainforest and Fern Color Essentials Cardstock. I cut the leaf die three times from each and then I thought that it would be good to break up the green foliage a little bit, so I also die cut the leaf die three times from 80lb white card. For the berries, I used two different color palettes. The purple berries were die cut from Lilac Blossom Color Essentials Cardstock and Royal Amethyst Color Essentials Cardstock. The pink berries were die cut from Fruit Punch Color Essentials Cardstock and a deeper pink cardstock from my stash. The little berry toppers were just cut from 80lb white. I assembled them using Bearly Art Glue and set everything to one side. To help me with the placement of all my elements, I took an Everlasting Circle Etched Die, and using a pencil I drew a very faint line around the circle onto some white card. I erased as much of it as I could without losing it altogether! This now serves as a guideline for my foliage placement. I adhered each die cut using a small bit of adhesive on the lower stem section and I worked in batches of Peridot, Rainforest, Fern and white each time. So, I knew that these four die cuts would need to take up about a third of the wreath. I then adhered the berries randomly around the wreath amongst the leaves. I took the Fresh Picked Sentiments Etched Dies and die cut “Hello” three times from a white card. I adhered them together in a little stack and added some thin foam tape in the center section at the back (so that the wreath would be level when placed down). To finish I added some glossy white pearls for embellishment. Hi My next card features the beautiful Fresh Picked Buttercups Etched Dies. This might be my favourite set but it’s hard to choose! The Fresh Picked Collection sets have been designed so that you can create a full A2 panel with the dies. They kind of fit together like a jigsaw puzzle so you do have the option to create with them in this way. This is really helpful if you struggle with design or just simply want to make a quick card. However, I thought I would use them in a spray design today. So, I began by die cutting all my pieces from Rainforest Color Essentials Cardstock, Peridot Color Essentials Cardstock and Beeswax Color Essentials Cardstock. I took a small round-headed blending brush and blended Fossilized Amber Distress Ink into the centers of the buttercups, and also onto the bottom of the unopened buttercup buds. Next, I die-cut the centers from gold glitter cardstock and adhered them to the middle of the flowers with Bearly Art Glue. I now had all my elements ready to place, so I played around with my design until I was happy with how the spray looked and I took a photo. To get my leaves exactly where I wanted them, and to fill a few gaps, I did trim out a couple of single leaves from the larger foliage pieces. For my background, I ran a panel of Glacier Cardstock Essentials Cardstock through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine with the Columns Embossing Folder. This was trimmed down a little and adhered onto a top folding A2 white notecard. This folder works really well for so many designs. I also think it would be a great folder for masculine cards. To give the flowers some dimension (and room for me to tuck the leaves behind), I added some thin foam tape onto the back of the three central flowers. I adhered them down and then added my foliage around them, just using tiny dabs of glue on the ends of the stems to keep them in place. I added the flower buds and smaller flowers where they were needed. I’m always in need of general “hello, hi” cards, so I took the Fresh Picked Sentiments Etched Dies and die-cut “hi” three times from white card. The die cuts were adhered into a little stack and then added onto my panel. For a bit of extra sparkle, I added some Gold Mix Color Essential Gems around the spray. Thinking Of You My final card uses the gorgeous Fresh Picked Anemones Etched Dies. I absolutely adore anemones and have lots in my garden, so this was also a favorite set! See, I told you it’s hard to pick a favorite – they are all fabulous in their own way! I used this set more in the way that it was intended. You can actually line up four anemones on a horizontal A2 card but I went with three for my card today. Again, I started off by doing all of my die-cutting. I used Pink Sand and Fruit Punch Color Essentials Cardstock for the petals of the flower; white card for the larger centerpiece, and a gold glitter card for the smaller center portion. The leaves and stems were die-cut from Rainforest Color Essentials Cardstock. You can make your own glitter cardstock really easily and I used some for the centres of the flowers. They were die-cut from a panel of Solaria Gold Art Glitter cardstock – it is super sparkly! I have a batch of small panels ready for when I need them. I did a step by step guest blog post recently on using Art Glitter, so you may want to check that out for ideas. I adhered the flower heads together using Bearly Art Glue and then I added them onto the stems, again with wet adhesive. The three completed flowers were adhered to a white panel that I had trimmed down a tiny bit at the bottom. This panel was then added onto a top folding white A2 notecard using adhesive. To ground the flowers a little, I added a very thin strip of Solaria Gold Art Glitter card along the bottom edge. My sentiment comes from Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set. I foiled the hot foil plate using Champagne Glimmer Hot Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. The sentiments were cut out with the coordinating die set and I also cut some extra from plain white card so that I could make a small stack. This was then added across the leaves using Bearly Art Glue. To finish the card off, I added some Gold Mix Color Essential Gems for embellishment. I hope that this gives you some inspiration for these sets. They really were a joy to create with and I hope I can find some time to play with them a bit more in the next few weeks and months. If you want to see more of my cards, I would love to have you as a follower over on my blog, Instagram, Facebook or YouTube. The main die consists of the envelope and you can decorate for different seasons with the add-on sets. My card features the main Envelope of Wonder (S7-238) along with a sentiment from the Must Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die (GLP-380) foiled in gold. I wanted to create a shaped card. I started off cutting the envelope twice with 80 lb card stock and glued them together. I then created a small card base measuring 4 1/2" W x 3 1/4" H and glued that behind the envelope. Next I lined my envelope with a piece of pattern paper before putting the rest of it together. I then cut out a mix of the flowers and leaves and created a fun little layout around a Thinking of You foiled sentiment. For final touches I added a few clear Glass Bubble embellishments. Card Measurements: Envelope: 4 1/2"W x 5 7/8" H White Card Base: 4 1/2" W x 3 1/4" (4 1/2" x 6 1/2", scored at 3 1/4") - This is attached to the back of the envelope to create a card base.
