Mother nature has given us different wonders to marvel at, from the earth’s topography to all the organisms that live in it, including us humans. After a year of work, I’ve finally finished my second ball jointed doll. It’s a new prototype that will be used for casting porcelain dolls. To be honest, I wasn’t working on it every day for the whole year, I had some significant breaks along the way when sculpting was put aside for a month or two.
Richard MacDonald’s recent work Spirit is another reminder of the artist’s broad range, and underscores the principle that whether he is responding to the highly refined movements and physique of a classically trained ballerina, or the bulk and strength of a powerful athlete, what makes his sculpture unique is his ability to feel the form and movement he witnesses. The solidity of these figures recalls the work of Rodin – massive, hewn from clay, earthy – a marvelous counterpoint to the works that defy gravity and explore different aspects of human expression, this is Richard MacDonald’s primal example of masculine energy. There is power in “pattern”, and the four figures gain from a sense of rhythm we feel, as they face the four points of the compass. Signed by the artist. LED light source included.
How Do You Feed Spirits?
Debra Bernier is an extraordinary artist from Victoria, Canada. She uses natural materials, such as driftwood, clay, and shells to create mesmerising sculptures. These intricate pieces represent the spirits of nature as human fusing together with the natural material. "When I work with driftwood, I never start with a blank canvas. Each piece of driftwood is already a sculpture, created by the caresses of the waves and wind" Debra told Bored Panda. "The wood tells a story and I try to think of its journey as I hold it in my hand. I extend or shorten the curves and contours that already exist into familiar shapes of animals or peoples' faces."
Working in ceramics and bronze, Lincolnshire-based artist Nichola Theakston's practice centers on meditative depictions of mammals.

Human body proportions is a hot topic in all visual art genres. Historically through all ages, artists and observers tried to canonise ideal standards on how human body should be portrayed. I don’t think we have to chase ideals as we all have different bodies and figures. Despite that, with all of o
