Today's card features Stampin' Up Hello Ladybug Bundle. This set pairs perfectly with Stampin' Up Pattern Party DSP. Today's card base is a simple Z Fold in Real Red card stock. I started with a piece of Real Red card stock measuring 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4" with Stampin' Up Simply Scoring Tool. I folded the card stock at the 4 1/4" then back at the 2 1/8" creating an accordian or "z" shape. I adhered a piece of SU Pattern Party DSP to a panel of Basic Black card stock. I adhered that layer to the card front. I die cut a piece of Basic Black with Stampin' Up Stitched So Sweetly Dies and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. I stamped a leaf from Stampin' Up Hello Ladybug Stamp Set with Granny Apple Green ink on a piece of Basic White. I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up Special Moments Stamp Set (FREE with qualifying purchase) with Real Red ink. I stamped lady bug wings on a piece of Basic White with Real Red and Mementos Tuxedo Black ink. I punched the wings out with Stampin' Up Ladybug Builder Punch. I took a piece of Basic Black to punch the ladybugs body out. I layered the Basic White panel to the Basic Black die cut. I adhered Basic Black to the card front with Stampin' Up Tear N Tape. I adhered the ladybug to the corner. I added 3 Stampin' Up Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front. The inside is a panel of Basic White. The sentiment is stamped with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the ladybug with Mementos Tuxedo Black and Real Red ink. I adhered the Basic White to a Basic Black panel. This week's Global Design Project is a fun theme challenge! Beautiful Bugs! It was the perfect opportunity for my favorite ladybug to pay me a visit. This ladybug is so cute, and easy to make.
I used the Stampin’ Up! Hello Ladybug stamp set from the upcoming January-June 2022 Mini Catalog to create my card to share with you today.
I usually try to make 2 cards when I sit down to play with a new set/bundle. This is the other card I made with the Hello Ladybug Bundle! I used the flip side of the Heart & Home doilies along with the Ladybug Bundle and the new Flowering Fields (Tulip) DSP! (Still need to play with this bundle!) This is a fun, simple card that could be used for any occasions. Measurements: Petal Pink: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE Flowering Fields DSP: 2 pcs @ 1 7/8"+ x 4" (dots) and another with the (tulips) Basic Black: 2" strip Basic White: 1 1/2" strip To Make This Card: Attach DSP to folded Petal Pink card as shown. Also add Heart & Home Doily - use the flip side of any of the 3 colors. Punch "ladybug" body from Basic Black. (You can also stamp & punch). Stamp "wings" in Poppy Parade onto strip of White. Punch out with coordinating punch. Attach together and add to doily with Dimensionals. Finish with Black Rhinestones or Black Matte Dots on the open "spots" on the "wings". Along with a bow of black & white Baker's Twine. I'm not a big fan of bugs, but these ladybugs make me smile! The Hello Ladybug Bundle in the 2022 Jan-June mini catalog is just so much fun! The Ladybug Builder punch quickly creates a perfect body and perfect wings that coordinate with the stamps. The big leaf stamp gives the ladybugs a nice base to stand on. Look at this smiley guy! These two cards use what I call "traditional" colors for the ladybugs; Real Red, Basic Black and Basic White. But in my world, ladybugs come in all colors! The fun paper in the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP pack in the SAB catalog make perfect polka dots wings! But why stop there? Use whatever color you want for their bodies and look at what you get! Just so cute!
Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a color challenge. What is black and white and red all over? No, not a newspaper! My card!! There's just something about black, white and red. Don't you agree? My design was inspired by Susie Wood. I achieved my dots by using a die, silicone mat and embossing/die cutting machine. A partial product list is at the bottom of my post. LADYBUG SERIES Today is my Stamp It Demonstrator’s Group Blog Hop . We’re all really excited to unveil our projects, and announce a new contest giveaway. To continue on your journey through our projects, simply use the BLOG HOPPERS links below. Mom's day is our theme so I'm dedicating my new ladybug series to all the ladies! On today's video I'll share how to make cool cards featuring the Stampin Up Ladybug Builder punch and Hello Ladybug stamp set. The first using it as it was intended, as a ladybug. Then stepping outside the ladybug box and turning it into a bumblebee card! The ladybug punch is awesome! You can turn it into so many different things. I'll share 12 awesome ideas that are almost anything but ladybugs! I do have a couple ladybugs to share in the mix. I'll be going beyond the traditional ideas and share tutorials for bees, butterflies, moths, chocolate bugs, even Disney Mouse Ear hat cards! I love going outside the box and this punch. All of the cards in this series also feature the Stampin' Up Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper.
One of the birthdays in "the month of many birthdays" is my kid sister's. Well, she's not a kid anymore, lol, but she will always be my baby sister. She's a redhead, and when she was little her nickname was Ladybug. So you can imagine how tickled I was to see the new Little Ladybug Sale-A-Bration host freebie! It is so stinkin' adorable, and I've seen lots of samples using it on Pinterest. The only problem was, I didn't want to fussy cut all those images. Thankfully, Stampin' Up! will be releasing a set of dies for it, starting February 4th. It will be part of the Coordination Product Release that includes dies for other popular stamp sets, too, as well as a DSP pack that coordinates with some punches! I love how SU makes it so easy to be creative, and appreciate them saving my fingers from tedious fussy cutting. Not that I dislike fussy cutting when necessary, but it's nice to not have to. To qualify for Little Ladybug, your order must be $300 or more, so get some friends and family and have a catalog party to help you qualify! Not only would you get the Little Ladybug, but you'd also earn up to six items in the SAB flyer PLUS you'd have $30 in Stampin' Rewards to redeem! Okay, I'll quit yakking and get to the tutorial. *grin* Cardstock Cuts Card base: Pear Pizzazz 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored and folded at 4-1/4" Background: So Saffron gingham (from Subtles DSP pack) 3-1/2" x 5-3/8" Images: Whisper White 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Grass: Old Olive scraps Instructions Adhere gingham background to card base, leaving an even border at top and sides. Stamp greetings with StazOn ink Stamp images using Memento ink, as shown above. Color leaves/stems, flower centers, and the ladybugs with Stampin' Blends, then cut with coordinating dies. Cut two grass clumps from Old Olive cardstock. Arrange flowers on card base (trim stems, as needed), having left and right blossoms adhered directly to card base, and center blossom popped up on dimensionals. Adhere one grass clump directly to card base and second clump popped up on dimensionals. Adhere left ladybug by putting a dimensional under her head and gluing her bum down with liquid glue (tuck her bum under the center blossom). Adhere right ladybug with dimensionals.
