"There was once a poor miller who had a daughter..." This Janet and Anne Grahame Johnstone illustration was salvaged from the 1977 book Dean's "A Book of Fairy Tales." It features the first page of story of Rumpelstiltskin, with the miller's daughter spinning on her spinning wheel. the back page is the final page in the story of the Three Little Pigs. The full-page artwork is fine and intricate, with gorgeous, lush detailing that draws you into the story. The illustration measures 10 3/4" by 8 1/4". The page is clean with slightly rounded corners and minor creasing where it was attached to the the spine. Framed and matted these minor imperfections in the margin would not be seen. Vintage prints are always the perfect decorating choice for any room in your home or office. The illustration would also be great for use in your collage, mixed media or altered art projects. The Johnstones were British children's book illustrators best known for their delicate, detailed artwork who made names for themselves after illustrating the classic "The Hundred and One Dalmatians." Their prolific art made them the most widely recognized illustrators of children's books in England, and Dean's Fairy Tales is one of their more popular works. Jonathan Personne presents his third album, a series of gloomy tales with lively and exploded musical dynamics. At the same time candid and sinister, light and brutal, this new homonymous album relies on a striking duality, announced from the outset by the cover - an illustration signed Personne on which two children discover the remains of a corpse. The stage is set for the noise of a mysterious world where ghostly spirits, strange presences and characters with broken destiny intersect. Composed alone with his acoustic guitar at the chalet, Jonathan Personne took an unexpected turn when the Montreal singer-songwriter reconnected in the studio with his friends Samuel Gougoux (drums), Julian Perreault (guitar), Mathieu Cloutier (bass) and Emmanuel Éthier (production, violin, synthesizer, mellotron, backing vocals). Between 60s pop references to synthetic arrangements, folk country inspirations to western-spaghetti imagery, samplings of obscure series or films and caustic rock grooves with superabundant guitar layers, the album scheduled for August 26, 2022 is a more refined work. And less lo-fi than the rest of Nobody's repertoire, but just as inventive and unpredictable.
