This handy tea bag holder project is ideal for taking your favourite teas on holiday.
I figured I'd better get this posted before the kitty completely wrecked it by knocking it repeatedly off my display table, batting it around the floor, and chewing it to death! {New Social Media Definition: proCATStination...waiting to take pictures and post them to your blog, until AFTER you've rescued your subject matter from imminent destruction at the paws and/or jaws of feline(s).} Anyway, I learned about this adorable pouch thru a fellow demonstrator, who was demoing it at Stampin' Up!'s San Antonio Regional. Unfortunately, I was demoing something else at the same time, so it took me a while to catch up with the instructions for making it. There's a place for a card in the front, a teabag in the back, and some cookies in the center! [Click any image to see it full-size.] Pouch Instructions: Start with 8-1/2"x12" paper or card stock. Our 12x12 Designer Series Papers are ideal, not only for size, but also because of the contrast the double-sided patterns provide. Score parallel to the 8-1/2" side at 1-1/4", 2-1/2", 5", 7", 9-1/2", and 10-3/4". Score parallel to the 12" side at 2-1/2" and at 6". Cut the 2-1/2" squares from each corner. Fold the four center corners in half diagonally, each tip pointing towards the center. Fold in the short sides. Fold in the long sides. Fold back each top edge. Punch holes thru top for string or bow. If you want to put treats in a bag in the center, punch your holes close together, so they can gather the top of your bag when you pull them tight. Place cookies or treats in 3x5 Small Cello Bag, then tuck bag in the center of your pouch, and then tie your knot or bow. (TIP: tying a bow allows the recipient to open without ripping.) Okay, I'm gonna show you a quick video walk-through for a visual. I know you're a busy crafter, so I'll keep it short and to the point. I'm a busy crafter, too, so please excuse the rough cut of the video. Really, you should only need to see it once, and after that, you'll easily be able to refer to the text instructions above. Seriously, you NEED the FREE Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper, and the FREE Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack for this project. During Sale-a-Bration, you can pick one item FREE for each $50 you spend, or if you Host a Workshop with $400 in sales, you get the paper, ribbon/brad pack, AND a coordinating stamp set...ALL FOR FREE! My teenage daughter is not a froo-froo person, but immediately upon seeing this project, she said the paper and the coordinating ribbon make this project scream "Mother's Day". But the FREE supplies are only available through March 31st, so get yours NOW! Several of you have asked how to make this darling Chocolate Cozy I featured a few weeks ago. There are several goodies you could put in this little Cozy, but I chose chocolate because I LOVE chocolate! Tea bags also fit nicely in the pockets. For this tutorial I'm using photos of the one made and given to me by my Pal Deb Simonis, so although I've taken the photos, she's the creator! Start with a 6' x 6' square of designer series paper. Using your diagonal scoring plate, score at 2' on two sides, and at 0' and 1'

My friend can pop into her handbag, filled with her favourite tea bags to use when she's out and about. The free tutorial from Claire at Beautiful Things can find HERE on YouTube. Today's one sheet wonder is a project instead of cards. I'm going to show you how to create a quick and easy tea bag holder using the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper and the Cup of Tea
Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a great start. I have been feeling
The other day, Beezus and I went out to this little tea shop near our house for an impromptu tea party. This place also has little gifts, and I saw this fabric tea bag holder for your purse. It just screamed the perfect thank you gift for a friend who was present for me when I had my miscarriage. I also always "borrow" tea off of her. I go to a great deal of meetings where only coffee is served, but they'll give you some hot water, if you bring your own tea. And I kept thinking about it. Not wanting to spend the fifteen bucks for the fabric one from the tea shop, but also it became the "perfect" gift for Marie. Google and a sewing forum later, I found a description of how to put one together and thought I would share it here. Not sure what a tea bag holder is? Here is a finished product: Okay. Take a piece of elastic, or binding. Or 1" x 9" strip. You are basically folding in the edges to create a nice seam, and sewing it to be about 1/4" thick. This is going to be your button loop. I do think elastic would be good for this part, but I just didn't have any. Start with a piece of fabric 20" x 16" Fold the long side (20" side) together. Good side in. Then press it. You then sew the side opposite the fold together. 1/4" seam. Move the seam to the middle and then press it. Sew one of the smaller unsewn edges together. 1/4" seam. Fold the opposing edges in about a 1/4" But leave unsewn. You will finish that later. Now, turn it right side around and press it. Take the sewn edge, and fold it 2 1/2" in and pin it. Sew the fold with a 1/4" seam. Now take the opposite side and fold it 5" up. Then fold it back 2 1/2". Pin that bad boy. Take your loop and tuck it into the unfinished seam. (the one you tucked in.) Pin it. Sew a 1/4" seam. The first time I did this, I broke a needle, so make sure it is not too thick. Now sew 1/4" seams at the side edges. (The two sides perpendicular to the loop.) Now you are going to make the pockets for the tea bags by measuring in 3 1/4" from each side. Sew the line straight down the project, though, because this is also going to create your folds. This project is tri-folded. Press the heck out of it. And fold it and press it. You fold in each side, then in half once. Do that and measure based on your loops where the button will be sewn. Hand sew this, making sure not to sew the outer pocket to the inner one. Fill it with your favorite teas, and artificial sweetener, if you use such a thing. I don't. But I think my friend does. Then fold it into a pouch and throw it into your purse. Eh, voila! Hope this was clear. Happy to answer any questions in the comment section.

Somehow the following post got lost in the shuffle last month. I would have had no idea I hadn't posted it, but I went searching for the directions for this tonight, and huh, they weren't there! Geesh, my mind sometimes?? Well, here's what I forgot to post: Who knew? January is Hot Tea Month! There's nothing like a hot cup of tea to warm you up on a frigid January day. So go brew yourself a cup and then take on this next challenge in the crop: create a tea holder. 1. Cut double sided paper (or make your own) to 3 1/2" x 11" 2. Score at 3 1/2", 7" and 7 1/2" 3. Hold paper as shown and cut third panel at a diagonal to create a pocket. 4. Adhere pocket to second panel. 5. Embellish!
