Wild Olive is a blog about handmade crafts and cuteness, embroidery patterns, projects and printables, with a dose of kawaii things with sweet faces!
Our VBS was Babylon, and this post has the photos of main building decorating and my classroom decorations. The entrance: The main foyer: Registration Booth Walking the main hall to the classes and craft area: From the main foyer, into Daniel's Lion Den. This last picture is looking back down the hall with the pictures above on each wall. These are some of the craft tents: I made the signs with my Cricut machine: The areas were not all finished when my husband took the photos for me, so I don't have pics for everything. These are pictures of what I did for my classroom: The kids LOVED the fur on the lions! 12 Tribes Wall Daily Info Wall This is one of the posters I made to go with the lessons. I changed the border and men with graphics that you can use. Click here to print it.
So I made all these funny decorations and people used them with the gate as a backdrop during our photo booth.

Hello everyone and welcome to Nonna's Craft Corner! I hope your week is going well for you. I've spent the first part of my week cleaning house! So many of those "routine" cleaning jobs have been put aside while I was working on our VBS set and now that it's finished...it's time to clean this house! *If you are looking for the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post, please click HERE* Our "VBS Kick-Off Party" was this past Sunday and I'm very thankful to say that the set was completed and ready to be revealed! The kids loved it and that made all the work worth it! Now, we cover it back up with our room dividers and wait for VBS which begins on June 3rd. As promised, I have pictures for you.... Here is what we began with... tons and tons of cardboard boxes! Next came cutting and putting boxes together to fit the dimensions and shapes we needed. After we got our boxes together, we arranged them to create our Babylon scene... Next we covered the boxes with a drywall mix and started painting... After everything was painted, the fun part started! Time to decorate! The "tiles" were actually fabric panels. It came in long sheets and everything had to be cut out. Then we used a spray adhesive and glued everything onto the boxes.... (click on photo to enlarge) The "hedges" are cardboard boxes, cut to size and covered with millions of green streamers cut to about 5 inches each. Hours and hours and hours and hours! I took one home to work on and my friend took one home to work on. Getting it back to the church was the hard part... These things are 6 feet long, it goes all the way into my front seat! So, I guess it's back to cleaning this house for me! Thanks for letting me share something near and dear to my heart with you today! Until next time,
The gate in progress.
